Blurb: "The year was 2014. We had cured cancer. We had beaten the common cold. But in doing so we created something new, something terrible that no one could stop. The infection spread, virus blocks taking over bodies and minds with one, unstoppable command: FEED. Now, twenty years after the Rising, bloggers Georgia and Shaun Mason are on the trail of the biggest story of their lives - the dark conspiracy behind the infected. The truth will get out, even if it kills them."
Independent media rules now; the youth have been brought up to distrust the mainstream media due to coverups of what really happened when the dead started to come back to life. Fear is widespread, humans now live in restricted zones which resemble prisons, only those with nerves of steel or suicidal tendencies dare to consider visiting the restricted parts where the zombies roam free.

Set in this post-apocalyptic, 'post-Rising' world, we see three young bloggers getting to grips with the campaign trail of a hopeful Presidential candidate. Georgia wants to seek out the truth in everything, her brother Shaun wants to poke dead things with sticks and their friend Buffy (yes, really) is their tech geek who also likes to write poetry for her blog. Does this trio know what they've really signed up by following the charismatic Senator Ryman? When things start to turn ugly on the trail, how far will they all go to finding out what's really happening?

There's a lot more tech talk than I expected in this book but it all adds to the 'reality' of this new world. The politics is enjoyable and the characters are likeable. And the concept of FEED is just brilliant. Anyway, we have zombies, government conspiracies, and a strong female protagonist; what more could you want from a YA horror book? 7/10
