My 10 New Year Resolutions for 2012

1. Eat healthier and exercise more: I'm guessing that this will be on a lot of people's lists as usual! Over Christmas, I have overindulged and need to get back to eating food that's good for me. I also need to exercise more in general and tone up. If I can lose about a stone in the process, then that would be nice too!

2.Join my local library and use it: I follow the news quite a lot with being a PPE student, and like many, I've been really angry about huge cuts to local services. I'm lucky enough to live close by to a library and have made it my mission to use it whilst it's still there.

3. Do a First Aid course: I've always had an interest in health care and looking after people so this is something I'd really like to do.

4. Read at least one non-fiction book a month: I read a lot of fiction and get through books fairly quickly, but I don't read that much non-fiction unless it's for Uni. There are a couple of subjects that I'd like to learn more about so hopefully I can find time to get some extra reading done for these.

5. Blogging! I've been blogging for a few months regularly and have been really surprised by how much I enjoy it. I've been introduced to so many lovely bloggers online and have found the blogging community to be so friendly and fun! I'd like to get more involved and post more reviews & photos.

6. Donate something to charity every month: Even if it's just a £1 through Paypal, I'd like to contribute a little something each month to charities and causes that I'm interested in and which make a positive difference in the world.

7. Sign up to be an organ donor: I've been meaning to do this for ages, but 2012 will finally be the year!

8. Keep a record of my finances: Pretty self-explanatory, but I overspent a little over the holidays and want to get in a regular routine of monitoring where my money goes.

9. Drink more water: Such an easy way to get healthy and feeling more energised but most of us including myself, don't drink enough water.

10. Do things that make you happy I can be quite grumpy and cynical at times, so I think making that extra effort to find more good, fun things to do, will make me much more positive and happy.

  6. @Tracy - Thanks, I've signed up today & have been encouraging others to do the same. I think it's one of those things that a lot of people say they will do, but never actually get around to doing, which is why I've always supported health policies which are trying to change the national database to an opt-out box for organ donations instead. I hope your brother is getting on OK! x

    If anyone in the UK wants to sign up to be an organ donor it takes like less than a minute to do so online here: https://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/ukt/RegistrationForm.do

    @Beauty Balm - Yep those seem to be on everyone's lists again this year! x

    @Frecklie - Nah, yours are great! :) x

    @Mldvs - yay! Happy New Year to you too! xx

    @Sam Ram - That's brilliant, clear skin here we come! I've drank about 4 glasses today and keep running off to the bathroom haha! xx
