10 Films List

Sunday, 10 February 2013

 (1)  Looper (2012)
Really cool sci-fi based around time travelling and assassins called 'loopers'.  You can't wrong with a film that has both Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in it either!

 (2)  House at the End of the Street (2012)
Horror thriller with a brilliant twist at the end and loads of suspense.  Starring Jennifer Lawrence of Hunger Games fame.

(3)  Kiki's Delivery Service (1989)
Cute Studio Ghibli anime about a young witch who moves to a new city and sets up a delivery service for the locals.

(4)  Laputa: Castle in the Sky (1986)
Another Studio Ghibli anime, centered around a fantasy adventure and the quest to find a magical floating city.

(5)  Rockstar (2001)
Mark Wahlberg plays an aspiring rock star in a cover band who manages to get everything he wants, but at what cost to his relationship?  Stars Jennifer Aniston as his long-suffering girlfriend.  Thanks to Fernada for recommending this :)

 (6)  Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (2012)
Comedy drama with Steve Carell and Kiera Knightley as they figure out how to spend their last days before a giant asteroid hits Earth.

(7)  Definitely, Maybe (2008)
Rom-com chick flick starring Ryan Reynolds, a 38yr old father who retells his young daughter the story of he met her mother.

(8)  Ted (2012)
Hilarious comedy with a talking pot-smoking, drinking teddy bear and an immature young man played by Mark Wahlberg.  So funny!

(9)  Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002)
The first film from Park-Chan Wook's cult Vengeance Trilogy and for some reason, I watched this after seeing Lady Vengeance and Oldboy (they're all separate films, just linked with the theme of vengeance).  This one was cool, but I enjoyed the other two more.

(10)  Total Recall (2012)
Being such a sci-fi fan, I had to see this remake of the 90s dystopia classic with Colin Farrell in it.  I don't think it's as good as the original (these things rarely are though!), but it's still well worth watching at least once.

What was the last film that you watched?
Any recommendations?

  8. Loved Looper and Ted! They were some of my favs from last year. I've seen the Arnie total recall and wasn't a fan- and as I can't stand Colin Farrell I'm not sure I'll like the new one.
The last film I watched as Django Unchained- which I'd definitely recommend! I've actually seen it twice :)

    1. Yeah I don't think the remake would be your cup of tea if you didn't like the original. I really want to see Django Unchained! x

  9. Looper wasn't all it lived up to be for me. I wanted so much more from it. Maybe it was the change in Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Thinking about him just makes me want to watch 500 Days of Summer (ahh Zooey).
