Beauty News: Introducing Boxdelux

Saturday, 20 April 2013

Beauty boxes seemed to have hit their saturation point sometime last year, leaving behind a gaggle of less than satisfied customers and drawers full of unloved samples.  From chatting with fellow bloggers and various PR reps recently, the two biggest disappointments felt by subscribers were that the products they were receiving weren't luxury or high-end enough, and that the repetition and lack of variety of the products caused them to unsubscribe.  There is however one new concept launching soon which aims to change all this; Boxdelux.

Boxdelux is a brand new luxury subscription service which is launching on 27th AprilIt aims to provide consumers with a new luxury experience each month, and unlike other beauty box subscription services, Boxdelux boxes will include goodies such as confectionary, candles and soft drinks.

The concept of Boxdelux was developed through noticing a gap in the market. There is a vast number of beauty and food subscriptions, but nothing that addresses the need to collaborate all aspects of luxury – which is where Boxdelux comes in!” stated Holly Hutchinson, CEO of Boxdelux.

We have sourced many top products from new and established leading companies to give you an experience that no other subscription box currently offers.” Hutchinson continued, working with brands such as Illuminum; whose White Gardenia fragrance Kate Middleton chose to wear on her wedding day, Teapigs, Premae Skincare, NUYU skin clinic, Nakd Bars and Alassala Argan Oil.

To maintain the exclusivity of the Boxdelux brand there will be a limited number of boxes available each month, and no repetition of products

Each product featured will be available to buy in the online shop for a limited period only. Upcoming boxes will also have specific themes: for example Boxdelux will be supporting Breast Cancer awareness with a percentage of the profits going to the charity.

The first Boxdelux will feature the Best of British to celebrate everything British!  The first month’s box will also include an exclusive £20 gift voucher for redemption in the Boxdelux shop.

Get 10% off your first subscription with the code BMW10 & pre-order here.
Subscription rates start from one month for £35 inc delivery.

  1. I really do like the idea of more luxury boxes and it's great that they're themed each month, but it's very pricey and I'm not so sure about the soft drinks and confectionery... I think this might be one to get after I've seen if it's worth it x

    1. Agreed, from the brands featured on their website the confectionery and drinks all appear to be really nice (e.g I think there's going to be some English fudge and Teapigs tea in the first box), but I'm not sure what percentage they'll include compared to the other products. It'll be interesting to see anyhow! x

  2. not really, how more luxe how more animal testing, I prefer to avoid them, I actually prefer my skin get used to one or 2 products not that I have to try small products of different kinds the whole time this will make my skin go crazy.

    1. Luxe or high-end doesn't necessarily mean more animal testing, but I can see where you're coming from, and it's rare that a box like this would be completely cruelty free unless they were going for a specific theme. Have you looked at Amarya and SoulSouk? They all have cruelty free / organic / natural products in them :)

  3. I don't think I'll sign up, I'm not sure about the soft drinks/confectionery part but it's brilliant that they'll be supporting breast cancer awareness.

  5. I am interested in this, but £35 is quite a chunk if you don't know what you are expecting and with it being the first box there's no old ones to look to for and idea of quality/contents! Still, I am intrigued....!

  6. wow this sounds amazing, like they're avoiding all the negatives of other beauty boxes - i'm seriously considering ordering the first box but £35 is quite a lot... maybe it would be best to wait and see what the first box would be like before subscribing xx

  10. It's great that they donate so much to charity each month, though the boxes certainly aren't as affordable as others! Worth at least one try! :P
