BIO2YOU Organic Seabuckthorn Hand Cream* (100ml, £19.95)

Seabuckthorn is something of a wonder berry in the beauty world.  Its incredible antioxidant properties have been harnessed for generations, and is used in everything from nutritional baby food, health drinks and of course beauty products.  There are lots of brands who have dedicated Seabuckthorn ranges (I've raved about the Weleda one in the past), but it seems like BIO2YOU are leading the way in promoting the powers of this super-plant.

BIO2YOU specialises in a small range of organic seabuckthorn products which maximise the anti-aging goodness of the berry.  I decided to try out the Hand Cream whose formula features shea butter, pure vegetable oils, Vitamin E, mallow & aloe extracts, as well as the revered Organic Seabuckthorn Oil.  The hand cream feels light, yet deeply moisturises the skin leaving them silky soft and hydrated.  There's not really any scent with this either, just that typical 'un fragranced smell'.   Its non-sticky and absorbs into the hands immediately which will appeal to anyone who hates greasy hand creams!

All of the products from BIO2YOU are free from parabens, alcohol, paraffin, colourings and animal by-products. Everything is also organic certified by ICEA (The Ethical and Environmental Certification Institute).

The price?
As well as the high quality ingredients, BIO2YOU uses environmentally responsible methods to harvest their Seabuckthorn.  They make sure that the branches of the plant are carefully pruned then frozen, which makes it easier to pick the berries and protects their delicate skins.  Other companies use cheaper methods such as berry pickers which mechanically cut down the bushes to ground level, thus destroying the plants after harvest.  The price of this hand cream may seem expensive in comparison to others, but I feel it's this extra care for the Environment that more than justifies the RRP.

Have you tried anything from BIO2YOU?
Would you pay more for environmentally responsible products?

  1. I'm going to be a harsh critic on this one, I was approached by the company and they didn't respond to my requests for ingredients. I dislike the fact that FULL ingredient list can not be found on the website.

  3. What a nice review Evelyn :) Well would I pay more for environmentally responsible products? Yes, I would ..only if it is certain..actually for me would be an extra reason to choose a product compared to another one.
