I&K Purple Feather Hair Extensions* (£9.99, link)

Back in my teenage years, I happily dyed my hair every colour under the sun without a thought in the world to what it was actually doing to my hair's health.  By the time I was 20, my poor hair was feeling very damaged and looking rather sorry for itself, so I stopped and let it all grow out naturally.  I have since vowed that I'd never bleach it again, but on occasion I do miss seeing random flashes of bright colour running through it.  Luckily we have hair extensions to solve this woe!

I've been playing with these fun feather style, human hair extensions from I&K this weekend.  You get 10 strands in a pack and they're 18" in length, so they're one to choose if you have long hair like I do (or you can cut them down to whatever size suits you best).  The extensions are pre-bonded with a micro loop for easy application (there are loads of Youtube tutorials online which show you how to put them in and take them out if you haven't tried them before).

With each extension being a thin strand, you can pick and choose where you want them placed in your hair.  Personally I think they look great with just one or two slotted in towards the front of the face, but I imagine they'd look equally cool if you applied all ten strands for a full highlighter effect.

I'm going to try and upload some photos of what they look like in my hair over the next couple of days (having camera issues at the mo!), but for a rough idea you'll get a look like these pics - perfect for a festival weekend!

  1. Love the purple shade in these, such a nice colour! Im the same, a few years ago i dyed my hair any colour i could find and now im trying to get it back into a nice condition x

    1. They are a gorgeous colour! I know what you mean, it takes such a long time to get your hair back to how it was - bleaching/colouring it really does take its toll x

  2. I love these! I remember years ago I used to get one or two brightly coloured extensions glued into my hair when I visited The Clothes Show live but they were a pain to remove. Clip in ones are such a good idea and I'm sure some bright colours would look amazing against my dark hair.

    1. They can be tricky to remove - I find soaking the bond in acetone helps a lot!
Clip in ones are great, I think these colours would look lovely on you :)

  3. Those look sooo rad...I imagine they'd stand out nicely with your dark hair! I've never dyed my hair and I haven't had any extension before, I just cant be bothered unless there's a themed party maybe!
