Summer Hair Trend: The Understated Jewelled Hair Clip

Sunday, 29 June 2014

Amongst the usual array of flower headbands and brightly coloured hairties that so often dominate summer's attire, I've seen a quiet trend for small and understated jewelled hair clips this year.

I don't often wear a lot of hair accessories but when I spotted this over on Hairtrade, I thought I'd give it a go.  I chose a rather small and delicate hairclip from Neoglory that features dark red faux gems set around an amber coloured flower.  I love the vintage feel that this has and I was really impressed by the quality too - all of the gems are firmly set into place with gold coloured metal and I have no fears of them coming loose!  I like wearing it to one side to grow out my fringe, but it can be worn in several different ways to suit your own style.  I think this is a pretty look for anyone who isn't into OTT hair accessories and just wants something small and understated instead.

Neoglory Hair Clip* retails for £12.99 and is available from

  4. This is really pretty and a bit sparkly! I have nothing like it! I just recently bought a double pack of hair clips with a simple black bow and I've been loving using it, no fuss.
