Love Me Beauty - April 2017 review + 20% Discount Code
If you're on the hunt for some new makeup brushes, but you're on a budget, look no further than Love Me Beauty's April Edit as it's full of the brand new range from Ecotools!

Love Me Beauty unveiled their latest edit called #InFullBloom this month to mark the arrival of Spring, and they've added some new and exciting brands to their website. Subscribers are given 60 credits per month to spend on whatever they like in the online edit, and you can purchase additional add-on credits if you'd like to treat yourself to some more products. Each month, you'll also receive a free make-up bag with your products as this subscription doesn't use boxes!

I was thrilled to see the likes of Ecotools, Living Proof, Amie, and Dr Bragi up on the site, as well as brands from last month such as Caudalie, Merumaya, Kat Von D, Perricone MD and Make Up Forever - in case you missed any of their products last time (check out my review of last month's Love Me Beauty edit here). Regular readers will know that I've been a long-term fan of Ecotools for years now, in fact, they were one of the very first brands that I bought my makeup brushes from as a teenager! I love their eco-friendly ethos and all of their products are cruelty-free.

So without further ado, let's check out some of the products that you can pick up from Love Me Beauty this month:-
Love Me Beauty - April 2017 review + 20% Discount Code
 Ecotools Full Powder Brush review
Ecotools Full Powder Brush (RRP £9.99 - 20 credits)

The first thing that you'll notice with this brush is just how big and fluffy the head is as it's composed of a staggering 70,000 bristles, and no, that's not a typo! That's around 200% more bristles than your standard powder brush and these cruelty-free, synthetic bristles are super soft. I've been using this mainly as a setting brush with loose powder and it provides an easy, flawless finish as the bristles distribute the powder so finely and evenly across the face. A must-have for any makeup fan!

Ecotools Eye Duo Set review
Ecotools Eye Duo Set review
Ecotools Eye Duo Set (RRP £6.99 - 20 credits)

If you need some new brushes to perfect a smokey eye look or just want something to use for every day, Love Me Beauty have included this handy Ecotools Eye Duo Set which includes two full-length brushes. Each brush has two ends, and these are clearly labelled so you know what you can use them for. In this set, there are ends for Smudge, Blend, Shade and Define, and again, the bristles are cruelty-free and feel nice and soft to work with.

Ecotools Perfecting Blender Duo review
Ecotools Perfecting Blender Duo (RRP £9.99 - 20 credits)

Makeup sponges are something that I always love trying out, and I use them most times that I apply liquid foundation. This Perfecting Blender Duo are the new makeup sponges from Ecotools and the pack contains a larger dark green sponge, alongside a smaller lime green sponge. They're made from 100% vegan EcoFoam technology and have a really great texture to them - they're firm but have a good 'bounce' once they're wet. Both of the sponges are angled which makes them super easy to use as they effortlessly blend foundation everywhere that it's needed, and I absolutely love the smaller one for blending concealer underneath my eyes and it's useful to use around the nose.

Ecotools Contour Perfecting Sponge Applicator review
Ecotools Contour Perfecting Sponge Applicator (RRP £5.99 - 20 credits)

Contouring fans will be intrigued by the new Ecotools Contour Perfecting Applicator which has a tear-drop shaped sponge tip to follow the natural contours of your face. I was a little sceptical of this when I first saw it because I've tried similar products in the past, but this one is actually pretty good. The sponge is much firmer than the makeup sponges above, so I'd recommend getting it a lot wetter to make blending easier, as I found it impossible to use it when it's dry. I do like using it with my cream contour palettes though to add definition where it's needed.

Love Me Beauty - April 2017 review + 20% Discount Code
Dr Bragi Intensive Treatment Mask (RRP £10 for one mask - 25 credits)
If you love sheet masks, Love Me Beauty have included a luxury Intensive Treatment Mask from Dr Bragi this month. This one's designed to treat redness, dehydration and the first signs of premature ageing due to a powerful formula of Marine Enzymes. Looking forward to giving it a go!

Living Proof Prime Style Extender Spray (15ml travel size - 15 credits)
For those upcoming summer holidays, you can pick up this travel size bottle of Living Proof's popular Prime Style Extender Spray which promises to help prolong any hairstyle or blow-dry for twice as long as usual thanks to its ability to repel everyday dirt and oil with its innovative silicone-free formula.

Amie Purifying Facial Wash & Matte Finish Moisturiser (2 x 10ml travel sizes - 5 credits)
Lastly, for a mere 5 credits, you can choose this travel-sized skincare duo from Amie which features two of their bestselling products; the Purifying Facial Wash and Matte Finish Moisturiser. Handy for throwing into your holiday bag!

 Beauteco Box* (£10 + P&P, link)

Going through my post pile, I noticed this month's Beauteco box at the bottom, so I eagerly pulled it out and opened it up.  This, 'see what's inside before you buy', beauty subscription box seems to be proving fairly popular, so let's take a closer look at their offerings for June shall we?

April Empties / Products I've Used Up

Monday, 29 April 2013

I finally have a normal amount of empties this month after using up so many products during the 100 Day Spending Ban.  Here's what I used up in April, and whether I will be repurchasing them or not.

December Empties / Products I've Used Up

Sunday, 23 December 2012

So here it is, the last Empties post of the year.  Thought I'd put this up a little early so that I can pop them all in the recycling bin before it's xmas.  These are the products that I managed to finish up in December and whether I would repurchase them again:-

Amie Spring Clean Cooling Clay Mask* (reviewed here)
Love this face mask - it clears up any blemishes quickly and makes my skin feel wonderfully clean and clear.  Repurchase?  Yes.

Yardley English Lavender Luxury Body Wash
I've had this lingering around in my bathroom since March when it came in a Joliebox and I've been slowly using it up ever since.  It's not my favourite lavender scent in the world (a bit too 'powdery' for my liking), so I just used the rest up in recent baths.  Repurchase?  No.

Davines Authentic Moisturising Balm
So sad to see my last tube of this get used up!  I used it as an intensive hair treatment and loved how soft it made my hair feel.  Repurchase?  Yes, I'll pick up a full size when I've used up some other hair masks.

Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm
This is the original cooling peppermint formula that Burt's Bees are famous for.  Personally I prefer their Honey formulas more, but this was still nice to use.  Repurchase?  Maybe.

Essential Care Organic Calendula Balm* (reviewed here)
A great multi-purpose all natural and organic balm that can be used on any dry/chapped bits.  This little tub lasted ages!  Repurchase?  I have lots of multipurpose balms in my current stash, but it's certainly something I'd pick up again in the near future.

Clinique All About Eyes
I like this eye cream a lot and have gone through a couple of pots of it in the last two years.  It's a good, everyday eye cream and one to try out if you haven't before.  Repurchase?  I fancy a change so as this was my last pot, I've decided to switch to using Korres' Evening Primrose Eye Cream at the mo.

Dermasalve Body Cream* (reviewed here)
Another product I've had in my bathroom for a while.  This was OK and something I used when I experienced eczema flare ups, but I much prefer LUSH's Dream Cream and Barefoot's SOS Body Lotion to this.  Repurchase?  No.

balance Me Rose Otto Body Wash
Love the delicate rose/turkish delight scent of this and it's one of my favourite natural body washes to use.  Repurchase?  Yes, but only as a treat as it's a little pricey.

Barry M Lip Gloss Wand in Toffee (reviewed/swatched here)
Another favourite product that I've used up is this lip gloss from Barry M.  Smells and tastes just like toffee and is a gorgeous nude shade with a little shimmer.  Repurchase?  Already have!

Amie Skincare Review: Morning Clear Purifying Facial Wash, Bright Eyes Very Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover, Morning Dew Matte Finish Moisturiser & Spring Clean Cooling Clay Mask

Monday, 17 December 2012

I first came across Amie's skincare range via Tania's blog a while ago, so I was delighted when the brand got in touch with me to ask if I'd like to try out some of their products.  Although Amie's budget-friendly range is primarily marketed towards teens, it'll work for anyone who has troublesome skin like I do, so I was excited to give these a go.

Amie Morning Clear Purifying Facial Wash* (150ml, £4.95)

The first product I tried was their Purifying Facial Wash; a creamy based cleanser that's ideal to use first thing in the morning.  I used this in the shower as part of my getting ready routine, and it was really lovely to use.  It has a very subtle / delicate fresh scent to it and the cleanser made my skin feel soft and thoroughly clean when I got out, without any dryness or tightness at all.  This would be great if you have oily skin because the soap-free formula balances everything out without stripping away your natural oils.  Made with 96.8% natural ingredients.

Amie Morning Dew Matte-Free Finish Moisturiser* (100ml, £4.95)

I'm still on the fence about how I feel about this one.  It's probably because it's winter and my skin needs a bit more hydration that it usually does, but this didn't work so well for me.  It has a lovely subtle scent like the face wash and made my skin feel soft, but ultimately it just didn't wow me.  I'll be sure to give this another go in S/S next year however to see if I feel any differently about it then.  Made with 90.8% natural ingredients.

Amie Bright Eyes Very Gentle Make-Up Remover* (125ml, £4.75)

Bright Eyes is an oil-free, non-greasy, make-up remover that lives up to its name of being very gentle to use.  It removed most of my make-up easily, but sadly struggled to shift my stubborn waterproof mascara.  Despite this, I'll still enjoy using the rest of the bottle up because it doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes and does an excellent job with the rest of my make-up.  Made with 98.9% natural ingredients.

Amie Spring Clean Cooling Clay Mask* (10ml sachets or 75ml tube for £4.95)

My favourite product is definitely the Spring Clean Cooling Clay Mask.  I was so impressed with this that I've already added the full size tube to my xmas wishlist; simply put it's amazing!  The mask has a deep cleansing effect that really draws out all of your impurities making it ideal to use if you battle with breakouts.  It has a lovely cooling sensation and like the rest of the range, smells subtly fresh too, with lots of mint.  I got two uses out of one sachet, so I'm saving up the extra sachet to use when my skin plays up again.  Made with over 94% natural ingredients.

Amie products contain no parabens, mineral-oils, petrochemicals, sodium laureth sulphate or sodium lauryl sulphate.  They also have no ingredients of genetically modified origin, animal testing or animal ingredients and the range is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.  Available from Boots.
