Review: Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette

Tuesday 4 September 2012

They say good things come to those who wait and that's certainly been the case with this palette!  Say hello to my current HG concealer.

There's a ridiculously long story surrounding this palette and why it has taken me so long to actually get around to using it.  If you've been following my blog for a while, you may remember that I received this in my US drugstore swap and I was beyond excited to finally get my hands on it, as I'd been wanting it for a long, long time.

The day after it arrived I packed it up in a travel bag and headed to Leeds to visit some friends.  Like an idiot, I forget to bring said bag back with me on my return, so this palette has been sitting up north all that time.  My friends did offer to post the bag down to me (they are super lovely after all), but as I visit them fairly often, it didn't really warrant the expense of doing so (my travel bag is crazy heavy and I'd forgotten some books too!).

But now I have been happily reunited with Sonia and she's a beauty!

The Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette features two concealer shades (a light pinkish tone and a darker yellow based one), a neutralizer and a translucent setting powder.  The concealers are creamy and so easy to work with.  You can mix the two concealer shades to match your own skintone or you can simply dab on a little of the neutralizer which works so well at knocking out dark circles, and then apply your choice of concealer over the top.

The concealers offer a good medium amount of coverage but I don't think I'll use the powder as it seems to go cakey after setting the concealer for an hour or so.  Not a good look!

But the best part?

These concealers don't crease straight away on me!

They blend really well and don't seem to settle into my fine lines like other creamy concealers do.  I've tried them with and without the setting powder, and without they lasted around 4-5 hours without any creasing, which is excellent in my books.  With the powder, they last an extra 2-3 hours before I needed to do a touch up.

Only downside is that Sonia Kashuk is hard to get hold of in the UK (if you know anywhere that stocks it, let me know!), but if you're going to the US or arranging a swap with someone, this is so worth getting hold of and I can't believe how cheap it is either (I believe it retails for about $10/11 which is roughly £6/7?).

Have you tried out this concealer palette?

    1. I believe it's only in this shade (or this is the one that's sold most commonly in the Target stores in the US) and I'd say it's worth a tenner! xx

    2. Someone on Twitter has just informed me that there are one or two other shades in the palette range but that they're often hard to come by unless you go to one of the 'super' Target stores in the US. Hope that helps! xx

  5. Looks really cool, would probably be a suitable future replacement for using separate pots of Bobbi Brown corrector and concealer kit.
