Eco Friendly Dental Care from Ordo: Mouthwash Concentrate & Complete Care Toothpaste review

Ordo Mouthwash Concentrate & Complete Care Toothpaste review
Looking to reduce the plastic waste in your bathroom? Make a start with the products that you use every day such as your dental care, and you'll be on your way to a more sustainable lifestyle in no time at all! Brands such as Ordo make it easy with their recyclable toothpaste tubes and reusable mouthwash bottles.

With Greenpeace's latest plastic waste campaign hitting social media this past month, the reality of our carbon footprint on the planet is difficult to bear at the best of times, so I always suggest that people start by making small steps by cutting down on the plastic that they use every day. Dental care is something that most of us undertake every morning and night which makes it a great place to start.

I'll be honest here; I've tried a lot of zero waste solid dental toothtabs and mouthwash tablets, and I've yet to find one that I would permanently make a switch to, so if you're in the same situation, I'd suggest choosing products that have recyclable and reusable elements to help cut down on your plastic waste.

The Recyclable Toothpaste
Toothpaste tubes are a massive problem for the environment as most that are manufactured cannot be recycled, and when you think about the millions of toothpaste tubes that are used in just the UK alone, it makes sense to find an alternative option.

Ordo's Complete Care Toothpaste* (80ml, £4.50, link) is made from fully recyclable HDPE instead, so it can be disposed of in your everyday plastic recycling bin. It's also a great toothpaste which is SLS-free, vegan, cruelty-free and suitable for sensitive teeth. Recommended by dentists, it'll help to strengthen tooth enamel and keep your smile looking whiter.

Ordo Mouthwash Concentrate & Complete Care Toothpaste review
The Refillable Mouthwash: Ordo Mouthwash Concentrate & Reusable Mouthwash Bottle

Refill bottles make a big difference and are easy to make a swap to, which is why I love this handy duo from Ordo. Their Mouthwash Concentrate* (80ml, £6, link) is an affordable switch as the concentrated formula dilutes to make four bottles of mouthwash so it's a big win for your wallet and the environment. Formulated by dentists, the cruelty-free, vegan-friendly mouthwash concentrate is alcohol-free and helps to reduce plaque buildup and prevent cavities, as well as freshening your breath with its Cool Mint flavour.

To use, just add 20ml to the Ordo Resuable Mouthwash Bottle* (£7.50, link) and there's a handy line on the bottle to show you exactly how much to put in, and top up the rest with water. That's it! You can then just use it as you would any other mouthwash. Don't want to buy an extra bottle? No worries, simply add it to a bottle of your own with 330ml of water for the same result.

Top 5: Skincare Tips For People Who Work Out

Skincare Tips For People Who Work Out
Going to the gym will help you to look after your body, but sweating for long periods of time can wreak havoc on your skin. If you’ve recently started working with one of the many certified personal trainers in London and have noticed your skin suffering, you might need to switch up your skincare routine. Don’t worry, with the following steps, you’ll be able to get your skin back on track in no time.

Don’t wear makeup to the gym

If you’re used to wearing makeup every time you leave the house, you’ve probably been working out with a full face without thinking too much about it. While you might look a million dollars, makeup actually contributes to the clogging of your pores as sweat builds up behind it. When you’re at the gym, your skin needs to be able to breathe easily. If you feel very self-conscious going out without makeup, swap your foundation for a light, tinted sunscreen or moisturiser. And if you’re worried about removing your makeup when you turn up at the gym, keep a small bottle of micellar water and some cotton pads to hand.

Wash your face after working out

Once you’ve finished exercising, you’ll want to get any sweat that’s accumulated on your skin washed off as soon as possible. Sometimes using just water will be enough, but if your skin isn’t too dry or sensitive, choose a creamy or oil-based cleanser to really melt any build-ups off your face.

Moisturise your skin

You should always moisturise your face after cleansing, but especially so after sweating in the gym. Choose a hydrating moisturiser that has a light texture that won’t clog your pores. Pay attention to your moisturiser’s packaging and check that the bottle says non-comedogenic, so you know it won’t contribute to any breakouts.

Keep it gentle

If your skincare routine usually contains anti-ageing serums and acid peels, you might want to hold off using them straight after working out. Instead, save them for your nighttime routine before bed. Always give your skin time to recover after sweating in the gym, as it will be more sensitive. To reduce redness and irritation, consider adding a cooling, soothing mist or gel to your post-workout routine. Look for ingredients like green tea, cucumber, aloe vera or cica.

Use a high-quality gym towel

The gym towel you use during your workout can significantly impact your skin, especially if you’re using it to wipe your face. Make sure you invest in a towel that’s of a medium absorbency and wicks away sweat from the surface of your skin. It’s also a good idea to change your towel often and wash it in between uses to avoid transferring bacteria to your skin. You should always have a separate towel for your face that you don’t use anything else, otherwise, it’s like spreading all the germs on your hands over your face. Make sure that this towel is only used for its intended purpose - wiping away sweat. Don’t use it interchangeably to wipe down machines or to sit on whilst your exercise!

Judging the Cert Clean Beauty Awards 2022 - Face Mask Category - #CleanBeautyAwards

Judging the Cert Clean Beauty Awards 2022 - Face Mask Catergory
Over the past few months, I've been busy testing out this wonderful array of natural face masks and treatments for the Cert Clean Beauty Awards 2022. As the final judging date approaches, I thought it would be a good time for me to share some of my thoughts on these products.

What Are The Clean Beauty Awards?

The Clean Beauty Awards have been created by CertClean who is North America's leading certification for safer skincare. Although many of the products that I've tested out below fall into typical areas of green, vegan, natural and organic beauty, the general idea behind the awards isn't about how natural or organic a product is, it's about the overall safety of that product instead (in particular, CertClean focuses on products which are free from over 1400+ potentially harmful chemicals)

One of the best things about CertClean is the huge panel of natural beauty advocates and bloggers who make up the judging panel - I believe this year is a record high with over 130 experts taking part!

As you all know, I'm a huge fan of face masks so I was delighted to be ask to judge the Face Mask category this year. Let's take a closer look at the products that I've been judging.

Judging the Cert Clean Beauty Awards 2022 - Face Mask Catergory
Ameōn Ice Cubes Supreme Energy
Starting with the product that is more of a facial treatment than a mask, Ameōn Ice Cubes are a fascinating innovation which is designed to hydrate and rejuvenate whilst detoxifying. As the name suggests, this is indeed a frozen product; to use them you store the premade 'ice cubes' in the freezer and then use the mould and gauze provided to sweep it over the face in circular motions. It may sound a little strange at first, but it definitely helps to boost circulation and reduce redness, plus my skin felt so much smoother and softer afterwards. One to check out for sure!

La Vigne Derm Immortelle Bakuchiol Overnight Mask
Bakuchiol is one of the most popular natural ingredients in skincare right now and I can confirm that the hype surrounding this plant extract is totally justified. Hailed as a natural alternative to retinol, bakuchiol is quite simply an outstanding ingredient that delivers results fast. This Ayurvedic-inspired formula from La Vigne is brilliant for anyone who has those first signs of ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles, and it's great for plumping the skin back up to make it look smoother and younger. One of my favourites.

KPS Essentials La Luna Rose Peel Masque
I love a good natural peeling treatment and I've thoroughly enjoyed testing out the KPS Essentials La Luna Rose Peel Masque. Packed with Glycolic Acid, Rose distillate and Pearl powder extracts, it gently exfoliates and removes dull dead skin cells for a brighter result. This is one that I would reach for in my skincare routine about once a week to keep my complexion glowing.

Judging the Cert Clean Beauty Awards 2022 - Face Mask Catergory
Byroe Golden Carrot Overnight Relief Mask
Initially, I was excited to try out this luxury mask from New York based brand, Byroe, but I feel it's fallen a little short off the mark for me personally, and is perhaps the less effective of all of the face masks and treatments that I've tried for CertClean. Described as an Overnight Relief Mask that intensely hydrates, brightens and soothes troubled skin, I sadly found this much too rich and thick for my oily/combination skin. That said, I would perhaps recommend it to those who have drier or more mature skin types instead.

Epoch Glacial Marine Mud
Next up, we have the Epoch Glacial Marine Mud mask which is formulated with more than 50 different minerals and trace elements that are sourced from the Pacific Northwest. This is a straight up, easy to use mud mask that's ideal for multi-masking or applying all over if you have oily skin that's prone to blemishes and breakouts. It does the job well, but did leave my skin very dry afterwards so following up with a good moisturiser or facial oil is a must.

Moor Spa Kelp Enzyme Mask
Finally, the last product that I tried for the judging panel comes from Moor Spa and I may be a little biased here, but I've used and loved this particular product before! Check out my previous review of Moor Spa Kelp Enzyme Mask here. It's similar in some ways to the Epoch Mud mask above, though I personally like this a lot more and would happily continue to repurchase it in the future as it doesn't dry out my skin or leave it feeling stripped afterwards. The blend of fossilized Sea Kelp definitely seems to have a much bigger detoxifying effect on my skin and it's amazing for drawing out all of your impurities, including those pesky stubborn blackheads! Highly recommended.

Summer Skincare: Nourish Skin Protecting Daily Moisturiser SPF 25 review

Nourish Skin Protecting Daily Moisturiser SPF 25 review
With a heatwave on its way next week, now's the perfect time to get your hands on the brand new Skin Protecting Daily Moisturiser SPF 25 from London-based natural brand, Nourish.

What is it and what does it do?
This newbie is a great addition to Nourish's skincare range and is described as an all-year-round daily moisturiser with SPF 25 to help protect the skin against damaging UVA and UVB rays. I think it's important to mention this dual protection as some products only protect against either/or UVA/UVB and this one does both!

Glass jar with an aluminum lid.

Natural & ethical credentials
Contains 55% organic ingredients which are certified by COSMOS. Cruelty-free and vegan certified as well.

What's in it?
Lots of antioxidants and anti-aging active natural ingredients such as Kale, Turmeric, Camellia, Rose Hip Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Argan Oil, and Pumpkin seed oil. There's also some wonderful soothing ingredients like Aloe Vera, Borage Oil and Bisabolol. A really interesting and well-formulated blend. And not forgetting the reef-safe broad spectrum protection of SPF 25.

Full INCI: Aqua, Zinc Oxide, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Water*, Jojoba Esters, Glycerin**, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Glyceryl Behenate, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate, Isostearic Acid, Lecithin, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil*, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Extract, Borago Officinalis (Borage) seed oil*, Rosa canina (Rosehip) fruit oil*, Crambe Abyssinica (Abyssinian) Seed Oil*, Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil, Macadamia Integrifolia/Tetraphylla Seed oil*, Camellia Oleifera (Camellia) Seed Oil*, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Juice*, Sodium Hyaluronate, Alaria Esculenta Extract, Brassica oleracea acephala (kale) leaf extract*, Tocopherol, Bisabolol, Selaginella Lepidophylla Extract, Hexapeptide-11, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) seed oil**, Xanthan Gum, Glyceryl Caprylate, Glyceryl Undecylenate, Lactobacillus Ferment, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate. *From organic agriculture. **Made using both organic and non organic ingedients. 55% organic origin and 100% natural origin.

Nourish Skin Protecting Daily Moisturiser SPF 25 review
Overall thoughts
Despite being a new product, it does have a very similar look and feel to other products of this nature that I've tried from comparable brands. The texture is nice and lightweight, but it's worth remembering that it does contain Zinc Oxide as part of the sun protection so it typically feels a little more difficult to absorb into the skin. On my oily/combination skin, it feels quite fresh with a matte finish which I really like, though drier skin types may not. I'd recommend it for sensitive skin as I've experienced no problems with breakouts.

As with all-natural sunscreens with Zinc Oxide, I was a bit worried about the dreaded 'white cast/ghost face' look, especially as I have an olive coloured complexion that goes quite dark and tans very easily. Thankfully, I didn't experience too much of an issue with this personally, but it may be less appealing to darker skin tones than mine.

Protection wise though, I have been enjoying having this in my summer skincare routine! I've had no problems with sunburn since the sun has come out in the UK so it certainly looks to be doing its intended job. The fully recyclable/reusable jar is also a winner for me as I'm trying to reduce my plastic consumption and find that many, if not most, sunscreens are packaged in those difficult to recycle plastic tubes. Definitely worth a try!

Green Beauty: LoveLula Beauty Box - April 2022 review
In our ever-changing world, it's always quite sad to see something come to an end that's been with us for so long, and I'm afraid to say that April's LoveLula beauty box is the very last one.

However, green beauty fans, there's no need to fret! Instead of a regular monthly subscription box, LoveLula are going to be releasing a series of edited one-off boxes throughout the year instead, so you can still get your beauty fix from them and I'll still be sharing their contents with you all on here.

But for now, let's take a look at the last LoveLula monthly box which is worth £50.

PHB Ethical Beauty Lavender Hero Gel review
PHB Ethical Beauty Lavender Hero Gel

You guys know how much I love a good multi-purpose product and with summer literally around the corner, PHB Ethical Beauty's Lavender Hero Gel will be your personal hero all summer long (and beyond!). If you haven't tried this hidden beauty gem before, it's a lightweight soothing organic gel with extracts of Arnica, Lavender and Neem. You can use it acne, eczema and sunburn, as well as being a gentle moisturiser and primer. Basically, if you have any redness or irritation, this Hero Gel is on hand to help you.

Soul Tree Indian Rose Face Wash review
Soul Tree Indian Rose Face Wash

Having recently written up a feature on my favourite products from Soul Tree, I was of course absolutely thrilled to see a full-size bottle of their Indian Rose Face Wash in this box. Formulated for dry to normal skin types, this Ayurvedic natural cleanser is rich in antioxidants to help keep skin nourished, whilst also keeping blemishes at bay. It features natural ingredients such as Turmeric and Honey that are known for their brightening and antibacterial properties so I have high hopes for it!

Balm Balm Vegan Face Balm review
Balm Balm Vegan Face Balm

With a rich blend of Shea Butter, Argan Oil, Rice Bran Wax and Jojoba Oil, this Vegan Face Balm from Balm Balm is a fantastic all-rounder that soothes, moisturises and nourishes the skin. It also won't clog pores and has a lovely uplifting essential oil blend for a subtle natural fragrance which makes it such a pleasure to use. As with all balms of this nature, a little goes a long way, so you can expect to use this little jar of magic for many months to come.

Madara Derma Collagen Hydra Silk Firming Cream

Last, but not least, there's a sample of the popular Madara Derma Collagen Hydra Silk Firming Cream. Formulated with clever biotech-derived natural Peptides, Microalgae and Hyaluronic Acid, this silky cream moisturiser helps to hydrate, firm and protect the skin's natural barrier, whilst boosting healthy collagen production.

Introducing: Soul Tree Ayurvedic Natural Makeup & Toiletries

Thursday, 28 April 2022

Soultree Ayurvedic Natural Makeup & Toiletries
Soul Tree is a natural brand that's been on my radar for quite some time as its products are inspired by ethical and ayurvedic formulas. Soul Tree is also big on using organic ingredients and is in fact, the very first Indian natural brand to carry European certifications for its ingredients.

I don't see many Indian brands that have caused such a buzz on the green beauty scene as Soul Tree have. From their super slick packaging to their wide range of products that are handmade using age-old traditional Ayurvedic methods, Soul Tree is definitely one that you can really enjoy exploring.

I've been testing out several of their products recently and wanted to introduce you to some of my new favourites.

Soultree Ayurvedic Natural Makeup & Toiletries
Dry skin? Try Soul Tree Hand & Foot Cream (100g, £14.03)
Rescue dry skin with Soul Tree's wonderful multi-purpose Hand & Foot Cream. Featuring active botanicals, this intensive care cream formula is packed with natural anti-oxidants and rich moisturising ingredients such as Kokum Butter and an organic triple blend of oils from Sesame, Coconut, and Apricot. I love the addition of Honey, Aloe, and Turmeric to help soften and smooth dry skin.

Pamper yourself with Soul Tree Indian Rose & Cooling Vetiver Shower Gel (250ml, £11.29)
Enjoy a luxury shower experience at home thanks to Soul Tree's Indian Rose & Cooling Vetiver Shower Gel. Not only does this look beautiful in your bathroom, but it has a delicate rose scent that I feel most people will love, even if rose isn't typically your favourite scent as this one is quite unusual. The SLS and soap-free formula is brilliant for sensitive skin that needs a gentle touch.

Soultree mascara and eyeliner kajal review
Sensitive eyes? Try Soul Tree Ayurvedic Mascara (6g, £16.99) and Pure Black Kajal (3g, £14.20)

Soul Tree has a great range of natural makeup that looks chic in your makeup bag and performs effortlessly well. Their Ayurvedic Mascara delivers a natural-looking, lightweight, and clump-free result on the lashes, with a nasties-free formula that also helps to strengthen and nourish them. It's absolutely perfect for everyday wear!

For some added drama in the evenings, pair it with the Pure Black Kajal; a true Indian kajal eyeliner that is made to a 3000-year-old Ayurvedic traditional recipe. The liner is richly pigmented and glides on so smoothly, with added moisturising properties for dry and sensitive eyes.

soultree lipstick and lip balm review
Treat yourself to Soul Tree Hibiscus & Honey Lip Balm (3.5g, £9.33) and Lipstick in Wild Honey (4g, £15.59)
My last two favourites come from Soul Tree's range of lipsticks and lip balms, both of which I highly recommend checking out. The Hibiscus & Honey Lip Balm is one of the best natural lip balms that I've ever tried. It's like smooth butter on the lips and completely eradicates any dryness. I also find that I'm not constantly reapplying it as a soft layer stays on the lips for longer.

I love the Lipstick in Wild Honey which has a similar list of ingredients to the lip balm, yet has a beautiful modern matte finish. The pigmentation truly blew me away as well! Most natural lippies struggle with this, but Soul Tree has really nailed it to perform just like a regular mainstream lipstick, but without the nasties.

Health & Lifestyle: Heaven Skincare Collagen Drops review

Friday, 8 April 2022

Heaven Skincare Collagen Drops review
Collagen supplements are big news in the beauty industry with many skincare gurus swearing by them for helping to keep their skin looking and feeling younger. One such brand which are creating a buzz are Heaven Skincare with their easy to use Collagen Drops.

Collagen is naturally found in large amounts in younger skin, but as we age, the amount that the body produces becomes less and less the older we get. This sucks because collagen helps to maintain the skin's elasticity so the less that you have, the more prone your skin is to sagging and showing those tell-tale signs of ageing.

In addition to collagen, our skin cells also naturally produce Hyaluronic Acid; an ingredient I'm sure you're all aware of when it comes to skincare products. And yes, you've guessed it, Hyaluronic Acid also decreases as we get older.

The solution? Find a supplement that incorporates both Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid to help replace what we lose! This is where Heaven Skincare's Collagen Drops come in.

Heaven Skincare Collagen Drops review
What's In Them?
Heaven Skincare's Collagen Drops are made up of six natural ingredients which are easily absorbed by the body. These are Marine Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Biotin, Glucosamine, Magnesium, and Vitamin C.

How To Use
Packaged in small, squeezable bottles, these Collagen Drops are super easy to incorporate into your daily routine. Simply add one or two drops to a glass of hot or cold drink, or add to food if you prefer. You can also apply one drop to your daily moisturiser, serum or facial oil, or massage it directly into the skin.

What Are The Skincare Benefits?
With regular usage, you should start to see a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, improved skin hydration and elasticity, stronger nails and healthier hair growth.

Are There Any Other Benefits?
Yes! In addition to the skincare benefits, you may also see other physical and mental benefits such as improved gut health, a reduction in joint pain and inflammation, a strengthened immune system, and improved sleep and memory to name but a few.

Heaven Skincare Collagen Drops* (3 x 10ml bottles, £37 for a two-week supply) is available from

Recent Beauty Empties: Products I've Used Up

Tuesday, 5 April 2022

It's been a few months since I last posted about my Beauty Empties, but it's definitely time to sort through my trusty bathroom basket and pop these into the recycling bin! Here's my latest roundup of products that I've used up, which ones I'll be repurchasing and which ones will be staying in the bin.

Odylique Gentle Herb Shampoo* (reviewed here)
A haircare must-try if you have a sensitive, dry scalp, this shampoo definitely helps to calm down any irritation and keeps dandruff at bay as well. SLS-free, 100% natural, and just brilliant! Repurchase? I'm trying out a different shampoo at the moment but will definitely come back to this I'm sure.

Alive Magnesium Plus Body Recovery Bath Flakes* (reviewed here)
Magnesium flakes are great to add to your bath when you have any kind of pain, inflammation, or muscle fatigue so I always keep a pouch or two of them in the bathroom. This brand is simply 100% natural Magnesium Chloride flakes and they work a treat. Repurchase? Yes.

Mudmasky 3-in-1 Hair Mask, Scalp Treatment & Miracle Shampoo (travel size)
I'm pretty sure that this came to me via a beauty subscription box and it's quite possibly one of the best discoveries I've made in the past year. As the name suggests, it's something of a multi-purpose superstar and is brilliant for fussy, sensitive scalps like mine. Repurchase? Yes, I'd definitely buy the full-size.

The Castilian Soap Company Fragrance-Free Natural Castile Soap
Natural castile liquid soap is another multi-purpose gem that I always have in my stash and I use it for so many different things. From washing my makeup brushes to cleaning the kitchen floors, it's a safe, gentle, and natural detergent alternative, and a little goes a long way. Repurchase? Definitely.

Nourish Soothing Muscle Bath & Shower* (reviewed here)
I've been hit by a lot of illness in the past few months, from having Covid and pneumonia, to general problems with everyday fatigue, so anything soothing that I can use in the bath has been a godsend. I'm a huge fan of Nourish and their Soothing Muscle Bath & Shower should be available on NHS prescriptions; it's that good. Repurchase? Already have.

Scrub Love Clay-Tox Pure Mask
This face mask was an impulse buy in a Holland & Barrett sale, and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how well it performed compared to higher-end masks of a similar nature. Great for brightening dull skin and drawing out impurities. Repurchase? I believe it's been discontinued sadly :(

MOA Fortifying Green Bath Potion* (reviewed here)
Can you tell there's a bit of a theme with the 'bath products for ill people', here?! Another highly recommended saviour is MOA's bestselling Green Bath Potion and this stuff truly is magical when you're feeling congested and like you're dying from flu. It's expensive, but a little goes a long way. Repurchase? On my list.

Natura Siberica Repairing Natural Hair Mask* (reviewed here)
For an affordable natural hair mask, you can't go wrong with this one from Natura Siberica. It hydrates and nourishes like a dream and smells beautiful too. A simple and easy weekly treatment to give your hair some TLC. Repurchase? I'm using a different product at the moment, but I'd certainly revisit this in the future.

Evolve Hyaluronic Serum 200* (reviewed here)
You know you love a product when you realise that you first reviewed it way back in 2016 and you've repurchased it so many times, you've lost count! I love, love, love Evolve's Hyaluronic Serum 200 and feel that it's become something of a cult must-have on the beauty scene over the years. Repurchase? Of course!

Ooh Oils Of Heaven Natural Cucumber Soothing Face Oil* (reviewed here)
If you have sensitive skin, the Ooh Oils Of Heaven range of face oils is a really good one to look into as each face oil contains only one ingredient, so it's perfect for those who are also paring back their skincare routine. This Cucumber Soothing Face Oil is brilliant for calming down redness and irritation. Repurchase? Yes.

The Weekend Post: Love Struck Smoothies review #NoFuss #NoMess #NoFoodWaste

Sunday, 3 April 2022

Smoothies are the best way to start the day, and Love Struck has a wide range of delicious pre-packed smoothie bags ready for you to try out for all of the flavour and none of the fuss!

This ethical B Corp certified company has been making waves online with their no fuss, no mess and no food waste kits. They work with a Michelin-starred chef to create the most delicious flavour combinations, and several of their smoothies have also received Great Taste Awards.

Love Struck's Smoothies are perfectly prepped and portioned bags of fruit and veg which have been flash frozen within 90 minutes to lock in all the nutrients and goodness. Each smoothie is also guaranteed to provide at least one of your five a day with no additives, flavourings or processed sugar.

These plant-based, vegan-friendly smoothies are a tasty way to start the day and with so many different flavours to choose from online, your freezer will soon be packed! Don't forget that the individual plastic bags can be taken to your nearest supermarket to be recycled.

I was delighted to receive a box of Love Struck smoothies to sample recently and I wanted to share some of my favourite flavours with you all so that you can get a good idea of what to expect from Love Struck. In addition to the below, I also tried Pash 'N' Shoot (tropical and delicious) and Berry Go-Round (very summery and refreshing).

Strawberry Split
Strawberry Split keeps it nice and simple with a classic combination of Strawberries and Bananas. This Great Taste Award winner is perfectly balanced with both fruity, slightly tart and sweet flavours coming through. I imagine that this one is a bestseller because who doesn't love strawberries and bananas?!

Big 5
For those who can't get enough fruit into their smoothies, Love Struck has the Big 5. Bursting with Pineapple, Mango, Strawberry and Kiwi, this smoothie has it all with so much exciting flavour and nutritional goodness. It's a good one to pick if you want to boost your immune system thanks to high Vitamin C content.

Coco Loco
Coco Loco is my personal favourite and another Great Taste Award winner. With its combination of Mango, Pineapple, Lime, Coconut and Mint, it's the smoothie flavour that will transport you to a tropical island - all you need now is some good weather!

What Should I Blend My Smoothie Pack With?
Love Struck recommends blending each smoothie pack with either 200ml of Apple Juice (for a super fruity taste) or Coconut Water (for a fresher taste and lower glycaemic index). I tried both and would definitely recommend the latter as I felt that the smoothies are already packed with so much fruit that adding Apple Juice was a bit too much for my palate. They are also really nice simply blended with plain water too.

How Big Are The Portions?
The smoothie packs are super generous - each one is 140g of fruit so when you add 200ml of your chosen liquid, it makes a 12oz smoothie. Definitely excellent value for money!

Spring Ready with Wilkinson Sword: Intuition Complete Bikini Trimmer & Razor and Xtreme Beauty Eco Green Razors review

Tuesday, 29 March 2022

Wilkinson Sword Intuition Complete Bikini Razor review

If you choose to remove your body hair, these two razors from Wilkinson Sword will have you Spring ready in no time at all!

When it comes to body hair removal, choices are generally pinpointed on a spectrum of pain; from epilators and waxing, to dissolving creams and razors, I have always tended to opt for the latter which is generally pain-free :D

That said, as we continue to actively choose more and more sustainable products in our beauty routines, where do razors fit in? Well, they're never going to be zero waste, but there are some brands that are definitely improving what they're doing for the environment, such as Wilkinson Sword.

Wilkinson Sword Intuition Complete Bikini Trimmer & Razor* (£9.99, link)

Lightweight and super-easy to use, the reusable Wilkinson Sword Intuition Complete Bikini Trimmer & Razor is a dual-sided beauty tool that's ultra-convenient. On one end, you have the waterproof Bikini Trimmer (operated by an AAA battery) which features four different trim lengths to style your bikini area however you desire. The adjustable comb lets you get to hard-to-reach areas for the perfect finish and the head is detachable for easy cleaning afterward.

The other end has a five-blade razor with a skin-protect bar of gel that contains Hyaluronic Acid for the smoothest and most comfortable shave possible. Best of all, the razor head is replaceable and can be switched for any refills from Wilkinson Sword's Intuition Complete and Sensitive Touch ranges. I was also pleased that the inner packaging is cardboard instead of plastic - well done WS!

Wilkinson Sword Xtreme Beauty Eco Green Razors (price varies, link)

I'll be honest here, disposable razors are best to be avoided where possible. However, there are occasions where they come in handy for the purposes of travelling, so if you're stocking up for your next holiday, I'd recommend the Wilkinson Sword Xtreme Beauty Eco Green Razors

Each razor has a handle which is made from 95% recycled plastic, and after use, the handle can be recycled again (just detach the razor head before recycling). In addition, all of the outer packaging is made from FSC certified sources that's made from over 90% recycled paper.

These razors are really, really good and feature three flexible blades that follows the contours of your body for a very close and precise shave. There are also two lubricating strips formulated with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E to protect from skin irritation and the handle feels comfortable to grip and use.

Limited Edition: Naturisimo Female Founders Discovery Box 2022 review

Tuesday, 15 March 2022

The Naturisimo Discovery Boxes are a wonderful way to introduce yourself to a wide range of ethical, cruelty-free, and natural beauty brands. Their latest edition, the Female Founders Discovery Box is an extra special curation to praise the amazing women who are leading the way in the green beauty world.

Here's what's inside the box!

Pai Skincare Ressurection Girl Hydrating Mask (RRP £44)

This latest new release from Pai Skincare has been selling out since it launched so I was very excited to see it included in this box as I love the brand so much. The Ressurection Girl Hydrating Mask is a luxury hydrating gel mask that promises to quickly quench thirsty and dry skin. It gets to work in just 10 minutes to boost moisture levels so that your skin feels restored and soothed straight away.

Antipodes Reincarnation Pure Facial Polish & Exfoliator (RRP £22)

Another natural skincare brand that I'm hugely fond of is Antipodes and I've been using their products for years as my regular readers will know. Their wonderful Reincarnation Pure Facial Polish & Exfoliator is hands down the most gentle manual exfoliator that I've ever used (and believe me, I have tested out a lot during my time as a beauty blogger!), and it's the ideal pick-me-up for those times when my skin feels grimey and clogged.

Boucleme Curl Cream (100ml deluxe travel size)

On the green beauty scene, Boucleme is a brand that pops up time and time again, but I've never really looked into them properly as they specialise in products for curly hair. My hair is generally a bizarre combination of flat, fine and frizzy, so I tend to shy away from leave-in conditioners, however, a friend with a similar hair type to mine highly recommended that I try this so my interest has finally been piqued. Keep an eye out for a future post or Empties edit to see how I get on with this Curl Cream.

Odacité Creme De La Nuit (travel size)

Another much hyped product that's been on my wishlist is the Odacité Creme De La Nuit; a luxuriously high-end, hydrating and glow-inducing night cream with Vitamin C and Ashwagandha. The full size tub of this retails for a whopping £108 so it will be somewhat bittersweet if I fall in love with it!

Goldfaden MD Bright Eyes Dark Circle Radiance Complex (travel size)

Before you say anything, yes, I'm well aware that there isn't a great deal that can be done to change dark circles. They're a hereditary/genetic bugbear and every eye treatment on the market claims to be able to solve them. That said, I have tried some eye creams which can deliver some noticeable results so I have high hopes for this Goldfaden MD Bright Eyes Dark Circle Radiance Complex, especially as it has so many favourable reviews online and is often sold out. Fingers crossed.

Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Sun Touched (deluxe travel mini)

Kjaer Weis is a clean makeup brand that I simply adore and their refillable compacts were always trés cool way before 'zero waste' became a buzz word. I'm lucky enough to own a couple of their gorgeous products, and this deluxe travel mini of their bestseller Cream Blush in Sun Touched is the perfect summer travel bag addition.

Vapour Mesmerize Mascara (deluxe travel size mini)

As mascaras (ideally) need to be binned after three months for hygiene reasons, I like to keep my eye open for minis, and beauty subscription boxes are where most of my mascaras tend to come from these days. Vapour Mesmerize Mascara certainly looks the part with its metallic olive green tube and the brush definitely has a promising appeal to it.

OSKIA Super-C Beauty Capsules (one week supply)

Last, but not least, there's a brilliant one week supply of the popular OSKIA Super-C Beauty Capsules. This is another product that's been on my skincare wishlist as the ingredients in this serum oil sound fantastic. These capsules are described as a superior form of stable, oil-soluble Vitamin C, designed to protect, nourish and hydrate the skin for a younger, more revitalised complexion. Vitamin C is amazing for its brightening qualities and this version is suitable for all skin types to use.
