Health & Lifestyle: Revive Collagen - Premium Vegan Collagen Drink Supplement review

Revive Collagen - Premium Vegan Collagen Drink Supplement review

A couple of months ago, I reviewed Revive Collagen Original Collagen Supplements, and I was asked by a couple of my regular readers if I knew of any vegan-friendly versions. Well, guess what?! Revive has recently launched the world's first clinically proven vegan collagen!

With more and more people turning to a plant-based diet for either personal, ethical, or environmental reasons (or all of the above), it makes sense for there to be a vegan version of pretty much everything out there these days. However, sometimes this takes time to come to fruition, but lo and behold, Revive have well and truly cracked it with a liquid vegan collagen supplement drink. This is currently the only product of its kind in the world which identically mimics human type 1 collagen.

Recommended by the famous consultant dermatologist, Dr. Alhia Ahmed and Harley Street nutritionist, Clarissa Lenherr, this new product has been clinically proven to work in trials with 80% of participants saying it made a noticeable improvement to their skin. In vitro trials also showed that Revive Collagen's vegan ingredients increased collagen production by 134.97% - that's pretty impressive!

What's In It?

Each liquid supplement drink contains 2500mg of Revive's VeCollal Blend which is a 100% vegan-friendly and sustainable alternative to animal-sourced collagen. There's also a whole host of essential vitamins such as Vitamin A (Retinol), B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7 (Biotin), B9, C, E, and D3, plus 10mg of Panax Ginseng to help support natural energy levels.

Revive Collagen - Premium Vegan Collagen Drink Supplement review

How To Use

Consume one sachet per day, either direct from the sachet or add it to a small glass of water. This supplement has a pleasant Raspberry flavour so I've been taking it straight from the sachet, first thing in the morning before I eat anything.

Overall Thoughts

I have seen so many people online ask about vegan collagen supplements that it's amazing to finally be able to provide them with a solution, and one that truly exceeds all expectations. Described as 'the most efficacious and bioavailable liquid vegan collagen that exists' – this liquid supplement drink has a 95% absorption rate compared to tablets (30%) and Revive Collagen Vegan’s ingredients bypass digestion so that you reap the rewards quickly and efficiently.

The addition of the Panax Ginseng, along with the spectrum of essential vitamins, makes this what I would call a 'Collagen plus' supplement, and is a worthy addition to anyone's daily routine for better overall skin and health.

Health & Lifestyle: 3 Supplements To Try This Autumn/Winter

Friday, 5 November 2021

Give your health a boost this Autumn and Winter with a range of new supplements that you may not have come across before. This edit includes a natural sleeping beauty blend, a herbal tincture for clear skin, and a CBD Oil to help with creativity.

Try For Better Sleep: Complete Me Sleeping Beauty Relaxing Blend* (60 capsules, £14.99, link)

A good night's sleep is not only essential for your physical health so you are well rested to get the most out of your new day, but it's also vital for your mental health as well. Complete Me's Sleeping Beauty Relaxing Blend combines carefully selected vitamins and minerals such as Magnesium, Zinc, Vitamins B3 and B6, with 5HTP, Lemon Balm and Chamomile, to promote a healthy, good night's sleep. It achieves this by helping the body to naturally relax and unwind, and balances your hormones so you're in the right frame of mind to catch up on those all-important ZZZs.

How To Use: take two capsules with a glass of water before going to bed. Suitable for vegans, gluten-free, non-GMO and contains no artificial colours or preservatives.

Try For Clearer Skin: Herbfarmacy Botanicals Dandelion & Burdock Extract* (100ml, £13.50, link)

As many of my regular readers will know, I've been a big fan of Herbfarmacy's skincare for many years now, yet it's only been recently that I discovered that they also sell a range of herbal botanical tinctures so I thought I would check out their organic Dandelion & Burdock Extract. Used for centuries as an internal skin purifier to support the healthy function of the liver and kidneys, extracts of Dandelion and Burdock root have been widely researched as a tonic to help with digestion, and there's been growing evidence that they're beneficial as a way to internally treat common skin conditions such as eczema, acne, and psoriasis.

How to use: add half a teaspoon to a glass of water or fruit juice and drink two-three times a day. This tincture has a strong earthy and herbal flavour and is suitable for vegans.

Try For Increased Creativity: Amphora Inspire CBD Oil Drops* (30ml, £99.99, link)

New from Amphora is a premium range of high-strength CBD Oil Drops which have been specially formulated to support different aspects of daily life. Each product boasts an impressive high strength of 6000mg CBD Oil; the equivalent of a full dropper's worth of 200mg pure CBD extract, plant-based terpenes, and MCT oil for quick absorption. Unlike cheaper brands, Amphora's CBD is sourced from 100% organically grown hemp and contains no harmful additives. I've been testing out the Inspire CBD Oil Drops that help to promote increased concentration and creativity. It's early days yet, but I'm hopeful it can aid my mind out of its procrastinating ways - we shall see!

How to use: squeeze a dropper full under the tongue, hold for 30 seconds and swallow. Inspire has a slightly citrusy, earthy flavour.

Health & Lifestyle: VitSpritz Oral Spray Supplements review

Friday, 14 December 2018

Not a fan of taking vitamin pills? Why not try VitSpritz instead? These oral spray supplements are the perfect alternative to hard-to-swallow tablets and capsules, and are even more convenient to take whilst on the go!

VitSpritz is a range of liquid food supplements which come packaged in handy oral sprays. They're suitable for vegetarians and vegans and have been specially designed to be taken at any time, so whether you're commuting to work or just out and about doing your errands, you can simply pop one of these little bottles into your bag and you've got your daily vitamin fix ready when you are.

There are six different products available, including two for children, and I've been testing out the four adult ones below.

VitSpritz Vitamin D3* (30ml, £9.99, link)
Due to low UV levels during the Winter months in Britain, many people don't get enough Vitamin D so medical professionals have suggested taking a supplement from November to March to keep your levels topped up. Vitamin D3 is important for supporting a healthy immune system and helps your body to absorb calcium, which in turn maintains normal bone and teeth structure. This one from VitSpritz is an orange-flavoured oral spray that you spritz into your mouth once a day. It's sugar and calorie free, and each bottle contains enough for 230 days!

VitSpritz Vitamin B12* (30ml, £9.99, link)
If you're vegan, it's important that you take a Vitamin B12 supplement as it's difficult to get your recommended daily amount from plant-based sources alone. Vegetarians and omnivores can also benefit from this handy Vitamin B12 spray which helps to reduce tiredness and fatigue, and keeps your nervous and immune system working properly. It has a tasty orange flavour and two sprays a day is all you need to take.

Vitspritz Biotin Beauty* (30ml, £9.99, link)
Biotin is a popular go-to supplement for those who are keen to maintain healthy skin and collagen production, as well as encouraging hair growth, hence its nickname as a 'beauty' supplement. Found in the Vitamin B family, Biotin also helps the body to metabolise food and convert it into energy and it supports a healthy nervous system too, so it's not just a pretty face! VitSpritx Biotin Beauty requires just two daily sprays and each bottle contains 115 servings.

VitSpritz Adult Multivitamin* (30ml, £9.99, link)
If you're after a good quality all-rounder, you can't go wrong with the Adult Multivitamin which is packed full of Vitamins A, D3, K1, C, B1, B2, B6, B12, Niacin, Folic Acid, Biotin, Pantothenic Acid, Selenium and Iodine. Due to the content of the formula, you need to take more sprays than the others mentioned above (in this case it's 4 per day), but it can work out cheaper if you're looking to get your main daily vitamins in one convenient bottle.  Like the other products, it's sugar and calorie free, and has a pleasant fruity orange flavour.

Shop the full range of VitSpritz at vitspritzhealth.com  - currently on a 3 for 2 offer!

Disclaimer: Food supplements should never be used to replace a healthy and varied diet with plenty of exercise. Always consult your GP before taking if you have any queries, existing medical conditions or are taking any medication.

Foodie Friday: The Vegan Kind - July 2017 review #TVK45

The Vegan Kind - July 2017 review #TVK45
Last week, July's The Vegan Kind box arrived and I've been steadily munching my way through the contents. As always, it didn't disappoint with lots of new foodie products to try out.

This month's The Vegan Kind Box boasts eight products which are mostly snack related, and there have been one or two things which have surprised me this time around. Like their previous boxes that I've reviewed (check those out here), this one contains another good mix of sweet and savoury treats, so let's take a closer look at what's inside.

The Foods of Athenry Belgian Chocolate Biscuit Rocky Road Bar
The Foods of Athenry Belgian Chocolate Biscuit Rocky Road Bar (RRP £1.50)

The popular family-run Irish bakery returns with a brand new creation and TVK subscribers get to be the first to try it in the UK - awesome! This thick and chocolatey bar is a proper indulgent treat and features a yummy blend of caramel, crunchy biscuit, dark Belgian chocolate and sweet marshmallow pieces. Absolutely delicious - you wouldn't even notice that it's gluten, wheat, dairy and egg free unless I told you!

Jealous Sweets Grizzly Bears (RRP £1.50)

It can be hard finding gummy sweets that are gelatine-free, whether you're a vegetarian or a vegan, but these ones from Jealous Sweets are amazing. They have a really great texture and are packed full of natural fruity flavours. Much nicer than Haribo!

Bute Island Creamy Cheddar Sheese
Bute Island Creamy Cheddar Sheese (RRP £2.30)

The Vegan Kind included a spreadable ambient cream 'cheese' from Bute Island in their May box (reviewed here), which I enjoyed trying but it wasn't something that I would buy again. So when I saw this Creamy Cheddar Sheese in this month's box, I wasn't expecting to like it that much, but surprisingly, it's pretty good! I like it a lot more than the other cream cheese flavour, and although it's got a similar soy/coconut oil based texture, it's the strong, realistic cheddar cheese flavour that really sets it apart. I like it spread onto a slice of warm sourdough with some cucumber slices on the top for an easy afternoon snack.

Free From Italy Chocolate Cream Filled Organic Croissant
Free From Italy Chocolate Cream Filled Organic Croissant
Free From Italy Chocolate Cream Filled Organic Croissant (RRP £1.10)

A vegan croissant?! This got had a little squashed during transit, but I couldn't wait to try it. It's made by a new free from food line in Italy and this croissant is sweetened with Agave Nectar and filled with a dairy-free chocolate cream. It was obviously not as melt-in-your-mouth buttery as a normal croissant is, but the flaky pastry texture was good, if a little dry. The chocolate cream filling was great though, but there needed to be more of it as it was pretty much just in the centre and would have been a million times tastier if it was throughout the whole croissant!

The Feel Goods Drinks Co Refreshingly Still Orange, Mango and Water Drink
The Feel Good Drinks Co Refreshingly Still Orange, Mango and Water Drink (RRP £1.20)

I love the Feel Good Drinks and have purchased this flavour many times when I've been out and about. Wonderfully fruity and refreshing, especially on a hot summer's day.

VITL Essentials Vegan Vitamin One Day Trial + 2 Week Free Trial Code
VITL Essentials Vegan Vitamin One Day Trial + 2 Week Free Trial Code (RRP £1.30)

I'm a strong believer in taking supplements every day, alongside a healthy diet, to make sure that you have all the vitamins and minerals that your body needs, so I was pleased to see this pack of supplements from VITL Essentials. This one day trial pack contains Multivitamin, Omega 3, CoQ10 and Supergreens capsules to cover all bases, and there's also a 2-week free trial code (2WKSFREE) included which I'll definitely be taking advantage of shortly.

Super Moons Cheese and Onion Lentil Puffs
Super Moons Cheese and Onion Lentil Puffs (RRP £0.75)

Super Moons are another brand new product and they're made by the same people who are behind Hectares Sweet Potato Crisps (which are amazing by the way!). This time, they're using lentils to create these tiny puff balls that are flavoured with cheese and onion, for a moreish savoury snack. At only 83 calories per bag, I'll certainly be buying these again!

Ape Crunchy Coconut Bites with Sesame Seeds (RRP £1.60)

The last snack that I devoured from this month's box were these delicious little coconutty bites from Ape Snacks. They're really good and crunchy, with a subtle sweetness, and they're also baked, not fried. All natural, gluten and dairy free, these are well worth looking out for during your next grocery shop.

Also in the box: This month's recipe card is for a Courgette and Butternut Squash Rose Tart, courtesy of The Tofu Diaries, and July's chosen charity is The New Arc who are a North East Wildlife and Animal Rescue Centre. They specialise in rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife, but also rescue domestic animals who are in need as well. The New Arc are hoping to start construction on a new animal hospital as they are currently at capacity, so check out their website here and donate to them if you can via their Just Giving page here.

To find out more about The Vegan Kind, visit their website here. £10 + p&p each month in the UK, with worldwide shipping options available.
