April Empties / Products I've Used Up

Monday 29 April 2013

I finally have a normal amount of empties this month after using up so many products during the 100 Day Spending Ban.  Here's what I used up in April, and whether I will be repurchasing them or not.

The Procrastinating Beauty Blogger Tag

Sunday 28 April 2013

I've been tagged by a couple of bloggers recently to do this one which is doing the rounds on the blogosphere at the moment.  Plus, I'm having a rather relaxed Sunday so I thought why not?

Currently Loving: Lavera Coconut Dream Shower Gel

Friday 26 April 2013

Lavera Coconut Dream Shower Gel* (150ml, £6.45)

You can always count on finding two consistent things in my bathroom; something coconut scented and something from Lavera.  I've used Lavera's products ever since I can remember, which probably stems from seeing my mum constantly use them when I was growing up.  They're one of my favourite natural brands and it's great to see their availability increasing ever more in the UK.

Review & Swatches: Laura Mercier Creme Lip Colour in Bing Cherry

Thursday 25 April 2013

Laura Mercier Creme Lip Colour in Bing Cherry* (4g, £18.50, link)

I've lost track of how long I've wanted to try out one of these much loved Laura Mercier lipsticks, but it's been a very long time.  I was incredibly lucky to have been sent one of these recently and literally whooped with joy when it arrived.  Does it live up to my expectations and all the hype?  Absolutely!

NOTD: Ciate - Cookies & Cream

Wednesday 24 April 2013

Ciate's Cookies & Cream is one damn good neutral shade to have in your collection.  This soft nude looks fairly ordinary and plain in some lights, but in others, you can detect more of that hint of grey/ touch of taupey goodness in it.  It's probably in my top three most work friendly nail polishes of all time charts, and the formula is also amazing; it applies smoothly in two coats with zero fuss.

What are you wearing on your nails today?

Review: Shu Uemura Art Of Hair - Volume Maker Invisible Texturizing Powder

Tuesday 23 April 2013

Shu Uemura Art Of Hair Volume Maker* (2g, £31, link)

Shu Uemura are well known for their cult eyelash curlers (opinions are always divided on them, but I'm firmly in the loving camp) and I always hear lots of raves about their skincare range.  I didn't know they did haircare though until I started to experiment with their Volume Maker.

Tried & Tested: The Body Shop Mango Beautifying Oil

Monday 22 April 2013

The Body Shop Mango Beautifying Oil* (100ml, £9, link)

Multi-purpose products always make me happy because I feel like you get a lot more bang for your buck (and truth be told, I can be pretty lazy with beauty stuff when I'm running late in the mornings!), so I was excited to try out one of the Beautifying Oils from The Body Shop.

Meet the £80 Eye Cream - Radical Skincare Eye Revive Cream

Friday 19 April 2013

I'm incredibly fickle when it comes to eye creams.  If I use one up and can't see any noticeable differences, then I'll just switch to another brand and so on.  There are a lot of eye creams which I've tried that I like a lot, but not one that I ultimately love.  So what's my verdict on this latest one I've been trialling?

Shopping The Stash: Spring Make-Up Edit

Thursday 18 April 2013

With the season finally starting to change properly into Spring, I decided to do a little 'Shopping The Stash' to reacquaint myself with some forgotten make-up favourites and get myself in the mood for a lighter, brighter look.

NOTD: Monochrome Nail Trend S/S13 with Nails Inc - Black Taxi & Floral Street

Tuesday 16 April 2013

When the press release for Nails Inc's S/S13 Monochrome Nail Trend arrived in my inbox last week, I immediately thought of my good friend Georgia.  I'm sure she won't mind me telling you all this, but she's a huge make-up fan and somewhat of a slave to all the trends that come around.  You'd never see her wearing a typically autumnal nail polish shade in Summer for example.  However, she can't stand the always recurring Spring pastels, so I'm sure she'll love this nail trend instead.

Review: Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Rose Face Mask

Monday 15 April 2013

Despite the welcome appearance of some glorious sunshine today, my skin is still feeling the after-effects of a long, cold winter.  I've been using various hydrating face masks to combat any dryness and dehydration over the last few months, but there's a new one that has now taken centre stage in my skincare routine.

How To: Getting the most out of your Hair Masks & Treatments

Sunday 14 April 2013

If you like to keep your hair in tip top condition and/or you're just plagued with problematic hair like I am, then this post is for you.  Here are my top five pieces of advice for getting the most out of your hair masks and treatments.

5 Mini Reviews: L'Occitane, NEOM, Rimmel, Korres & Aromatherapy Associates

Friday 12 April 2013

I set aside these samples a while ago and have only just gotten around to finishing them all up.  It's safe to say that my samples stash is in a much more manageable state these days.  I can finally close my Wonder Woman Tin properly!

Currently Loving: Yes! Nurse Protect Your Lovely Hands Cream

Thursday 11 April 2013

Yes! Nurse Protect Your Lovely Hands Cream* (50ml, £5.50, link)

I've always been a sucker for cute packaging, beautifully simplistic typography and clever, but practical product design.  Let's face it, who doesn't appreciate all those aesthetics?  So you can imagine my sheer, squee-worthy delight when I received this tube of hand cream from Yes! Nurse recently.  And that was just about the cardboard box that it came in!

Outdoors Beauty: My Essentials for Camping & Festival Trips

Friday 5 April 2013

As part of my last uni module for this year, I'm undertaking a mini camping trip later today near the beautiful Lake District which involves an overnight stay.  And as the weather is slowly (but surely), starting to brighten up, I thought I'd do a quick post on the 'outdoor beauty essentials' I'm taking with me.  All of these would be perfect to pack for any camping and upcoming festival trips that you may have, so I hope it's helpful!

Budget Beauty: Collection Illuminating Touch Concealer Pen in Natural

Thursday 4 April 2013

Collection Illuminating Touch Concealer Pen in Natural / 2 (£4.99, link)

It seems like there are a million and one highstreet/drugstore versions of the much loved Touche Eclat by YSL on the market, and with good reason.  A brightening concealer is an essential, everyday make-up item for me, and they can work all sorts of wonderful magic tricks on the face if used correctly.  I've tried out a lot in the past, but a new one I'm playing with at the moment is Collection's Illuminating Touch Concealer Pen

March Favourites

Tuesday 2 April 2013

Here are my March beauty favourites.  I've been using all of these constantly throughout the month so they are all well deserving of my coveted favourites title!
