Yes! Nurse Protect Your Lovely Hands Cream* (50ml, £5.50, link)

I've always been a sucker for cute packaging, beautifully simplistic typography and clever, but practical product design.  Let's face it, who doesn't appreciate all those aesthetics?  So you can imagine my sheer, squee-worthy delight when I received this tube of hand cream from Yes! Nurse recently.  And that was just about the cardboard box that it came in!

Dear Yes! Nurse design people - you win top prize for the cutest arty design of cardboard packaging I've ever had the pleasure to lay my eyes on.  I seriously don't want to put this in the recycling bin.  When you open up the box, you're greeted with a smiley nurse and ten explanations of their 'special bits', e.g iron stomach, big heart etc.  With all the problems of NHS nurses being spun and twisted in the news recently, it really made me happy to read these little acknowledgements of the hard work that they do.

I also love the super slim tube design which holds a full 50ml of product like most hand creams do, but is skinny enough to pop into your pocket or handbag for use on the go.

Onto the hand cream itself.  As you may have guessed by now, this is a hand cream that has been specially formulated for hardworking hands that are in need some serious TLC.  It has an intensive moisturising formula which contains Active Manuka Honey +15 & Omega 3, 6 & 9 to help restore your hands to their former glory.   It has a very light, clean and fresh scent to it where I detect the tiniest hint of the honey coming through.  The formula itself absorbs quickly, is non-greasy/sticky, and I found that a small amount is all you need to apply each time.

Whilst my hands don't endure the pressures that a nurses' obviously goes through every day, they are prone to being very dry and this has been a great treat for them.   I can happily say that I'll be adding this Yes! Nurse hand cream to my most-loved ranks of dry-skin saviours!  The price is also fantastic and well worth looking into if you've been struggling to find a good hand cream that actually works for less than a tenner.

Have you tried Yes! Nurse Protect Your Lovely Hands Cream?

Do you like packaging like this?

  7. The packaging is gorgeous - I love the slim design!

My hands are really dry and flakey at the minute, I think I'm possibly allergic to the Barry m gelly nail polish :( my l'occitane just isn't pulling its weight any more, so I'll have to give this cream a go x

  10. Just had a brief stint in hospital and bloody hell did that hand wash dry my hands out. I appreciate that it can't leave any sort of residue, but in the couple of days before I got my act together enough to get my boyfriend to fetch me some hand cream my hands were an arid nightmare. I have gone from appreciating in theory that nurses etc have dried-out hands to positively wincing in sympathy. I've never bought this particular hand cream but I remembered its existence more than once this past week.

Oh, and love to nursing care assistants too. They get to do all the really unglamorous bits and all the ones I encountered were lovely to me. In fact, hurrah for anyone who spends any serious time around NHS hand wash :)

    1. I can only imagine what that hand wash is like - there are such strict rules about what chemicals must in them for the prevention of spreading germs and such, so it must be pretty stripping stuff!
