LoveLula Beauty Box - March 2022 review
Beauty subscription boxes continue to remain popular, so if you're looking for a monthly treat that features only cruelty-free and natural products, LoveLula is the box for you. This month's box is worth £52 and contains all of the following.

Ayumi Argan & Sandalwood 3 Step Haircare Routine
Ayumi Argan & Sandalwood 3 Step Haircare Routine
Just in time for the new season, you can refresh your hair care routine with these three essentials from the ayurvedic-inspired brand, Ayumi. This simple three-step routine begins with a gentle massage of their Bio Active Growth Hair Oil to help add volume and stimulate growth. You can then follow this step with the Argan & Sandalwood Shampoo and Conditioner to cleanse, nourish and hydrate.

Balm Balm Super Light Coconut Cleanser

Next up, I found a full-size Balm Balm Super Light Coconut Cleanser which comes packaged in glass and is formulated with 100% organic natural ingredients. This gentle cleanser is enriched with fractionated Coconut Oil which is extracted directly from Virgin Coconut Butter so it transforms into a light oil that's easy to massage into the skin. It melts away all traces of makeup and daily impurities for a really thorough deep cleanse every time.

Soultree Ayurvedic Mascara

A must-have for your make-up bag, this Ayurvedic Mascara from Soultree is lightweight and doesn't clump for a natural and beautifully defined finish. Ingredients such as Castor Oil, Black Seed Oil and Aloe Vera also ensure that lashes are nourished and strengthened to help them grow too. Keep an eye out on the blog next month for a special feature on this amazing brand!

Madara Micellar Water
Finally, the last product this month is a travel-size bottle of Madara's bestselling Micellar Water. This award-winning formula effectively removes makeup and daily grime without stripping the skin. Instead, it balances, soothes, and hydrates for a perfectly clean and fresh finish.

Spring Ready with Wilkinson Sword: Intuition Complete Bikini Trimmer & Razor and Xtreme Beauty Eco Green Razors review

Tuesday 29 March 2022

Wilkinson Sword Intuition Complete Bikini Razor review

If you choose to remove your body hair, these two razors from Wilkinson Sword will have you Spring ready in no time at all!

When it comes to body hair removal, choices are generally pinpointed on a spectrum of pain; from epilators and waxing, to dissolving creams and razors, I have always tended to opt for the latter which is generally pain-free :D

That said, as we continue to actively choose more and more sustainable products in our beauty routines, where do razors fit in? Well, they're never going to be zero waste, but there are some brands that are definitely improving what they're doing for the environment, such as Wilkinson Sword.

Wilkinson Sword Intuition Complete Bikini Razor review

Wilkinson Sword Intuition Complete Bikini Trimmer & Razor* (£9.99, link)

Lightweight and super-easy to use, the reusable Wilkinson Sword Intuition Complete Bikini Trimmer & Razor is a dual-sided beauty tool that's ultra-convenient. On one end, you have the waterproof Bikini Trimmer (operated by an AAA battery) which features four different trim lengths to style your bikini area however you desire. The adjustable comb lets you get to hard-to-reach areas for the perfect finish and the head is detachable for easy cleaning afterward.

The other end has a five-blade razor with a skin-protect bar of gel that contains Hyaluronic Acid for the smoothest and most comfortable shave possible. Best of all, the razor head is replaceable and can be switched for any refills from Wilkinson Sword's Intuition Complete and Sensitive Touch ranges. I was also pleased that the inner packaging is cardboard instead of plastic - well done WS!

Wilkinson Sword Xtreme Beauty Eco Green Razors (price varies, link)

I'll be honest here, disposable razors are best to be avoided where possible. However, there are occasions where they come in handy for the purposes of travelling, so if you're stocking up for your next holiday, I'd recommend the Wilkinson Sword Xtreme Beauty Eco Green Razors

Each razor has a handle which is made from 95% recycled plastic, and after use, the handle can be recycled again (just detach the razor head before recycling). In addition, all of the outer packaging is made from FSC certified sources that's made from over 90% recycled paper.

These razors are really, really good and feature three flexible blades that follows the contours of your body for a very close and precise shave. There are also two lubricating strips formulated with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E to protect from skin irritation and the handle feels comfortable to grip and use.

Limited Edition: Naturisimo Female Founders Discovery Box 2022 review

Tuesday 15 March 2022

The Naturisimo Discovery Boxes are a wonderful way to introduce yourself to a wide range of ethical, cruelty-free, and natural beauty brands. Their latest edition, the Female Founders Discovery Box is an extra special curation to praise the amazing women who are leading the way in the green beauty world.

Here's what's inside the box!

Pai Skincare Ressurection Girl Hydrating Mask (RRP £44)

This latest new release from Pai Skincare has been selling out since it launched so I was very excited to see it included in this box as I love the brand so much. The Ressurection Girl Hydrating Mask is a luxury hydrating gel mask that promises to quickly quench thirsty and dry skin. It gets to work in just 10 minutes to boost moisture levels so that your skin feels restored and soothed straight away.

Antipodes Reincarnation Pure Facial Polish & Exfoliator (RRP £22)

Another natural skincare brand that I'm hugely fond of is Antipodes and I've been using their products for years as my regular readers will know. Their wonderful Reincarnation Pure Facial Polish & Exfoliator is hands down the most gentle manual exfoliator that I've ever used (and believe me, I have tested out a lot during my time as a beauty blogger!), and it's the ideal pick-me-up for those times when my skin feels grimey and clogged.

Boucleme Curl Cream (100ml deluxe travel size)

On the green beauty scene, Boucleme is a brand that pops up time and time again, but I've never really looked into them properly as they specialise in products for curly hair. My hair is generally a bizarre combination of flat, fine and frizzy, so I tend to shy away from leave-in conditioners, however, a friend with a similar hair type to mine highly recommended that I try this so my interest has finally been piqued. Keep an eye out for a future post or Empties edit to see how I get on with this Curl Cream.

Odacité Creme De La Nuit (travel size)

Another much hyped product that's been on my wishlist is the Odacité Creme De La Nuit; a luxuriously high-end, hydrating and glow-inducing night cream with Vitamin C and Ashwagandha. The full size tub of this retails for a whopping £108 so it will be somewhat bittersweet if I fall in love with it!

Goldfaden MD Bright Eyes Dark Circle Radiance Complex (travel size)

Before you say anything, yes, I'm well aware that there isn't a great deal that can be done to change dark circles. They're a hereditary/genetic bugbear and every eye treatment on the market claims to be able to solve them. That said, I have tried some eye creams which can deliver some noticeable results so I have high hopes for this Goldfaden MD Bright Eyes Dark Circle Radiance Complex, especially as it has so many favourable reviews online and is often sold out. Fingers crossed.

Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Sun Touched (deluxe travel mini)

Kjaer Weis is a clean makeup brand that I simply adore and their refillable compacts were always trés cool way before 'zero waste' became a buzz word. I'm lucky enough to own a couple of their gorgeous products, and this deluxe travel mini of their bestseller Cream Blush in Sun Touched is the perfect summer travel bag addition.

Vapour Mesmerize Mascara (deluxe travel size mini)

As mascaras (ideally) need to be binned after three months for hygiene reasons, I like to keep my eye open for minis, and beauty subscription boxes are where most of my mascaras tend to come from these days. Vapour Mesmerize Mascara certainly looks the part with its metallic olive green tube and the brush definitely has a promising appeal to it.

OSKIA Super-C Beauty Capsules (one week supply)

Last, but not least, there's a brilliant one week supply of the popular OSKIA Super-C Beauty Capsules. This is another product that's been on my skincare wishlist as the ingredients in this serum oil sound fantastic. These capsules are described as a superior form of stable, oil-soluble Vitamin C, designed to protect, nourish and hydrate the skin for a younger, more revitalised complexion. Vitamin C is amazing for its brightening qualities and this version is suitable for all skin types to use.

The Naturisimo Female Founders Discovery Box 2022 is available strictly whilst stocks last priced at just £22. Exclusive to naturisimo.com

Currently Loving: Organic Works Daily Hydration Bergamot Range - Body Lotion & Shower Gel review

Thursday 10 March 2022

Spring is well and truly on its way, so why not add a fresh burst of sunshine into your bathroom with these everyday beauty treats from Organic Works?

Whenever I'm stocking up on my daily toiletries; I always try to choose products that reflect the seasons. As we finally head into spring after what seems like such a long winter, I've been finding myself opting for beautifully fresh and reviving scents that will help me to put a spring back into my step (pun entirely intended!)

Top of my shopping list is Organic Works' gorgeous Bergamot range.

Organic Works are a Scottish brand that I was first introduced to through the LoveLula Beauty Boxes where they pop up every now and again (in fact, one of their Night Creams was sent in last month's box). This cruelty-free natural brand has a simple set of products that encompass skincare essentials and a handful of lovely hand washes, body lotions, and shower gels, the latter of which I'd like to mention because they really are top quality for the asking price.

I've become somewhat smitten with the scent of their Bergamot range and I have been loving using their Bergamot Shower Gel* (300ml, £12, link) for an awakening shower experience with a moisturising base of Aloe Vera and delicious Tropical Orange and Bergamot essential oils.

To keep the good vibes going, I've been smothering myself afterward with the matching Bergamot Hand & Body Lotion* (300ml, £14, link) which comes in a huge bottle and a handy pump for fuss-free application. Hello, soft and gorgeous smelling skin!

New In Beauty: Tisserand Nature Spa Range - Uplifting Mandarin & May Chang Hand Cream and Hand & Body Soap review

Tuesday 8 March 2022

Earlier this year, Tisserand released their brand new Nature Spa Bath & Body Collection so if you're in the mood for some self-care pampering at home, this is the range for you!

For those who aren't familiar with Tisserand, they are one of the UK's leading natural wellbeing brands with a vast range of aromatherapy-based products. Based in the beautiful countryside of West Sussex, Tisserand has become hugely popular, and I just love exploring all of the different essential oil blends that they have to offer.

The new Nature Spa Bath & Body Collection has something for everyone and I was very kindly sent a Hand & Body Soap and Hand Cream from my personal favourite fragrance; the Uplifting Mandarin & May Chang.

Starting with the Tisserand Uplifting Mandarin & May Chang Hand Cream* (75ml, £12, link), this hand cream is a real pleasure to use thanks to its silky texture that is easily absorbed without any hint of greasiness. Packed with moisturising natural ingredients such as Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Aloe Vera, and Vitamin E rich Sunflower Seed Oil, it delivers instant hydration to dry hands and is something that I like to keep on my bedside table to remind myself to apply before going to sleep. Come the morning, my hands are so smooth and soft!

Another must-have in this new range is the matching Tisserand Uplifting Mandarin & May Chang Hand & Body Soap* (100g, £6.50, link). It's the ideal addition to your bathroom sink and a super-easy way to help reduce the amount of plastic that you use as this solid soap is simply packaged in a neat cardboard box. Embossed with the Tisserand logo and bursting with that gorgeous uplifting Mandarin & May Chang fragrance, this soap is enriched with moisturising Coconut Oil and Shea Butter to keep hands soft and supple throughout the day.
