I was recently tagged by the lovely Sasha who writes Ramblings of a Beauty Bird to answer the following questions. Thought it would be fun to do!
1. What beauty resolutions have you set yourself for 2013?
Mine are to mainly drink lots of water everyday (beauty starts within after all!), experiment with different make-up looks and venture out of my rut a bit (began to start this with a gorgeous terre d'Oc lipstick) and to try out a new hairstyle and possibly a new colour. We'll see!
2. If you could click your fingers and make one beauty product appear to be yours, what would it be?
Ooo this is hard! I'd probably say a Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush at the mo!
3. Tell me one of your favourite makeup tips.
Use a light nude pink eyeliner pencil in the inner corner of your eyes to make yourself look more awake. It really does work!
4. If you could raid anyone's makeup bag, famous or not, whose would it be?
I'd love to raid Eva Green's make-up bag. She always looks amazing and her smokey eye looks are incredible.
5. What's your current favourite skincare brand?
It's a toss up between Liz Earle and Laidbare, really can't decide!
6. Why did you decide to start blogging?
I started blogging for the same reasons I still blog now. It's just a fun little hobby for me to indulge in pretty things and chat about beauty with others. I also like the reviewing/recommending/ranting side of it because it gives anyone the option of writing what they think about a product on a public forum. I think its important that consumers can search online and read loads of honest opinions, instead of just being influenced by the mainstream brands who can afford to advertise on TV and in magazines etc.
7. Who is your celebrity style crush?
Leighton Meester, I like that she's young and not afraid to experiment with different looks.
8. If you could eat just one food forever, what would it be?
I'd probably pick pizza, one loaded with mixed peppers, chili, mushrooms, and goat's cheese, mmmmmmmmm.
9. What is your dream job?
My dream job would be something that involved travelling abroad to remote areas of the world and animals. Conservation work in a rainforest sounds wonderful.
10. What is your favourite film?
This is the hardest question, I'm such a film fanatic that it's impossible to pick one favourite. My top five in no particular order would be Into The Wild, Fight Club, The Virgin Suicides, Ghost World and Lost In Translation.
11. Tell me one random fact about you - it can be anything!
I have dyed my hair red, pink, purple, blue and green in the past when I was a teenager. For the blue and green, I only dip dyed the ends, but the others were all other.

There have been some good tags doing the rounds on the blogosphere once again, and this one has been a recent favourite mine to read. These are the 10 products that I would repurchase straight away if they randomly decided to disappear one day! It was very difficult to pick just 10 of course, so all of these naturally fall into that coveted Holy Grail pile for me and represent just a handful of the insane amount of products that I use on a regular basis. Spotted this Nail Polish Addict Tag on Gaby's blog that is doing the rounds at the moment and thought I'd post it along with some of my own polish p*rn for you all to admire.
1. What's your favourite nail polish company?
I'm torn between a few, but my absolute favourite would probably be OPI because I always want something from their new collections. I like their formulas, their often silly yet quirky names and they're a brand that seems to be able to collaborate successfully with celebrities time and time again.
2. 2. Glitter or no glitter?
I'm a total sucker for anything glittery so I personally love it, even though it's a pain to remove!
3. OPI, China Glaze, or Essie?
Have tried all three and going to say OPI again. However, I do really like China Glaze and Essie a lot too, I just have a lot more OPIs currently in my collection.
4. When do you change your nail polish?
When the mood strikes me. I'm sometimes fickle and will wear a colour once and take it off the next day if I see something else I'd rather wear. But at the same time, if I'm wearing a polish that I really love, then I have been known to wear it constantly for like two weeks.
5. What's your favorite color on your nails?
I can't pick one, I have too many joint favourites to choose from! Some of my all time favs include OPI Parlez-Vous OPI?, OPI Jade Is The New Black, OPI Black Cherry Chutney, Barry M Racing Green, Barry M Coral, China Glaze Fifth Avenue, Nails Inc Shoreditch, MAC Formidable!, Zoya Jem.
6. Darks or brights?
I love both and probably wear them in equal measures. Only thing I will mention is that I only like brights on my toes.
7. What are you wearing on your nails right this moment?
Still wearing OPI - Lucerne-Tainly Look Marvelous but will probably scrub that off later and pick something else for the weekend.
8. Matte nails - in or out?
It's not a trend that I've experimented much with. I bought a couple of matte nail polishes from MAC when they were being heavily hyped but I don't remember wearing them for long. I mainly just want to put glossy top coats over mattes which kinda defeats the object a bit!
9. French manicure?
It's not a look I'm personally fond of as it brings up images of WAGs and Jordan for me, but I think it can look OK if the nails are kept short and neat.
10. Favorite Summer Colours?
Probably corals, oranges and bright pinks!
P.S This isn't all of the nail polish that I own. Oh no. Embarassingly enough, there's a lot more including various dupes and things that I haven't had the heart to let go of yet. One day I'll sort it all out eventually, I promise! For now, the photos above are my 'main' polishes that I use the most of.

Shy Girl definitely, so easy to wear and seems to look great on lots of skintones.
2. What is your favourite foundation?
At the moment, it's Bare Minerals Original Foundation in Medium Beige.

4. Iphone or Blackberry?
I seem to be in the minority but you can't pry me away from my BlackBerry just yet.
5. What is your favourite brand for blush?
MAC or NARS
6. What do you order at Starbucks?
Iced Caramel Macchiato or Iced Vanilla Chai Latte, though I do fancy the frappuccinos every now and again.
7. What is your staple wardrobe piece?
A black leather biker style jacket that fits well.
8. What trend do you most dislike?
I don't get those Crocs! Why?!
9. What is your favourite perfume?
Not a big perfume wearer, but one that I do wear occasionally is Flower by Kenzo.
10. Who is your favourite actress?
I have a few, love Abbie Cornish, Eva Green, Jennifer Connolly & Rachel McAdams.
11. What is your favourite high street store?
Zara, always has nice stuff and finds a good balance between being 'on trend', but without making you look like you're 14.

I've seen this tag on LucyLou's blog doing the rounds recently and thought it would be fun to give it a go before the weekend begins.
(1) GREED: What is your most expensive beauty item? And your most inexpensive?
I don't really buy a lot of super-expensive make-up myself, so what I have in my collection were mostly gifts. The most expensive beauty item I remember purchasing myself was the Urban Decay Alice In Wonderland Palette which I paid far too much for from eBay as it sold out so fast. I love it though and it always cheers me up when I open it.
As far as cheaper products go, I'd pick anything from ELF, especially the bits and pieces I've managed to pick up in their 50% off sale.
(2) WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?
I have a serious love/hate thing going on with loose mineral eyeshadows (ones pictured above are from Everyday Minerals). I almost always use pressed eyeshadows because I find loose ones a little messy to use sometimes, but when I do use them, I always want to use them more. Same goes for my MAC pigments.
(3) GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?
No surprises that these are all lip products! Lanolips Lemon Aid is so yummy and sweet tasting, as is Barry M's Toffee Lip Gloss Wand which tastes and smells EXACTLY like it's namesake. And of course, I couldn't forget to mention my favourite Lush Sweet Lips Scrub which is made from sugar and flavoured with chocolate and vanilla.
(4) SLOTH: What beauty products do you neglect due to laziness?
Highlighters definitely (above: The Body Show Warm Glow Baked Bronzer which I use as a highlight mainly as it's quite shimmery, and Benefit's High Beam). If I'm in a rush or just can't be bothered, then these will be omitted from my make-up routine and left in their drawers.
(5) PRIDE: Which beauty products give you the most self-confidence?
Bronzers, blushes and a good concealer! If I have those three with me, then I'm feeling and looking my best. (above: Benefit's Hoola Bronzer, The Balm's Fratboy Blush and Collection 2000's Lasting Perfection Concealer)
(6) LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in a partner?
A good sense of humour is a must, someone who can make me smile will always be a winner in my books! Someone who stands up for what they believe in and keeps up to date with current affairs is also cool because I talk about politics and the news far too much. Must like animals, especially dogs, and having a beard, tattoos and a Scottish accent would be perfect! :D
(7) ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as gifts / or are you wishing for currently?
My current wishlist looks like a bit like this: Lush P.S I Love You Giftset, Neom Mini Bath Oils Set, a set of Sigma brushes, the biggest bottle of Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Use Dry Oil that I can find, Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette (I know I don't need this but look, it's pretty!) and Daniel Sandler's Watercolour Blush in POP.
