Holiday Style: Summer 2019 Trends Wishlist #AD

Monday, 27 May 2019

Shopping for new holiday outfits is almost as fun as booking the holiday itself, so I've put together a wishlist based on some of Summer's biggest fashion trends this year to give you a little shopping inspo on this rainy Bank Holiday Monday.

(1) The Timeless Straw Bag - Hit the beach with this Classic Straw Shopper Bag (£20, link) which features a vintage-esque straw body and tan handles. Straw bags like this are popular every Summer as they have a wonderful timeless charm about them, so they never really go out of fashion!

(2) The Bold Striped Jumpsuit - Jumpsuits have made a big comeback again and I love the bold pattern of this Multi-Stripe Button Through Jumpsuit (£49, link). Super flattering and easy to wear, just add flip flops for a casual look or dress it up with heels for a dinner date.

(3) The Classic Black Jumpsuit - If you want to keep it simple and still get on in on the jumpsuit trend, opt for an all-black number like this Black Button Through Jumpsuit (£45, link) instead. Like the Straw Bag, this is one of those capsule wardrobe favourites that you'll end up wearing all the time!

(4) The Vegan-Friendly Sandals - Vegan shoes are becoming easier and easier to find nowadays, and these Kendra Toepost Sandals (£10, link) are an absolute bargain for only a tenner! The black faux-leather straps and gold chain detailing will go with every dress you wear this Summer.

(5) The Hot Pink Maxi Dress - I love maxi dresses and this hot Pink Vest Maxi Dress (£20, link) looks particularly flattering on olive, tanned and darker skin tones. The tie-in waist adds a cinched-in structure to your silhouette too.

(6) The Bright Graphic Print Maxi Dress - Inject some extra colour into your holiday wardrobe with a bright Stripe Print Maxi Dress (£29, link) in this on-trend graphic style. Flattering for all your curves, the floaty fabric makes you feel like a million dollars!

(7) The Rose-Tinted Sunglasses - Another key Summer trend this year that has a classic vintage vibe, are these ultra-cool Cat Eye Sunglasses (£12, link) with rose-tinted lenses. The nude-light mocha frames also ensure that they'll perfectly compliment all of your holiday outfits.

Summer Holiday Wishlist
Whether you're getting ready to jet off on your summer holiday or simply fancy treating yourself, here's my Summer Holiday Wishlist to give you a little shopping inspiration this weekend!

(1) ASOS Lira 90s Print Beach Dress (£33, link)
I was browsing ASOS the other day and spotted this cute little beach dress from Lira. I love the 90s/ hippy inspired print, and the backless design looks perfect for hot Summer days! I'm not overly keen on super short dresses, so the length of this one really appealed to me as well, and you could easily dress this up with a black leather jacket and black strappy sandals for an evening/night out look.

(2) L'Occitane Roses et Reines Roll-On Eau de Toilette Intense (10ml, £18, link)
For holidays, I always like to pack a travel size fragrance, so these roll-ons from L'Occitane are just the right size for handbags and carry on cases. This scent Roses et Reines smells amazing with notes of four different Roses (Grasse, Bulgarian, Turkish and Moroccan), but if you're not a rose fan, they have lots of other scents available and the packaging is gorgeous. Well worth popping into your nearest shop and having a sniff of their perfumes range!

(3) New Look Black Tropical Print Bikini Top (£12.99, link)
If you're looking for a new bikini, New Look has lots of new designs in and I really like the look of this Black Tropical Print Bikini Top which has a lattice style detailing on the front. The print looks very Dolce & Gabbana inspired, and I love how it's tropical, but not too bright or OTT. Comes with matching bottoms, or you could just wear it with some denim shorts.

(4) Malin + Goetz Holiday Essentials Kit (£20, link)
Space NK are one of my favourite places to shop when you feel like treating yourself to some new luxury toiletries, and this Holiday Essentials Kit from Malin + Goetz contains both skincare and haircare. Inside the kit, you get a Face Cleanser, Face Moisturiser, Body Lotion, Body Moisturiser, Shampoo and Conditioner, all in handy travel size bottles and packaged in a flight friendly, clear plastic bag.

(5) Mango Prescription Sunglasses (£150 + prescription lenses, link
Sadly, if I want to get some new sunglasses I can't just go into Primark and pick up a pair for £2 as I need to get prescription ones. Luckily though, lots of highstreet opticians have offers on throughout the Summer months, and these ones from Mango are from Boots who always do really good 2 for 1 deals. I've seen these lighter tortoise shell designs everywhere this Summer so I may have to splurge and pick some up!

(6) Charlotte Tilbury Quick & Easy Red Carpet Party Look Set (£55, link)
For the ultimate holiday makeup treat, I've been eyeing up this stunning set from Charlotte Tilbury which contains four of her must-have products for a quick and easy glamorous look. This set contains a Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Kiss 'N' Tell, Matte Revolution Lipstick in Red Carpet, Rock 'N' Kohl Eye Liner in Barbarella Brown and a travel size version of the best-selling Wonderglow. You also get a cute makeup bag to store all your holiday makeup in.

Shopping The Sales - January Wishlist

Shopping The Sales - January Wishlist
The January sales are still in full swing, with lots of brands offering extra last minute discounts on their sales items. With this in mind, I've compiled a little wishlist showcasing some fashion and beauty bargains that I'd love to snap up!

1. A trench coat is a classic for a reason. It always looks smart, and will never, ever go out of style. This one from First & I is the perfect colour, and looks equally great thrown over office/work wear for everyday, or a casual jeans and jumper combo at the weekend. Available from ASOS - on sale for £28 (link).

2. Stay stylish during the cold weather with a high neck, midi length jumper dress like this one from Pretty Little Thing. Like the trench coat, it works well for chic office wear with tights, or you can dress it down with a leather biker jacket and some grungey lace up boots. On offer for a bargain £8 (link).

3. Treat yourself to some new makeup brushes! There are lots of Lottie London brushes on offer over at LookFantastic, including this Flawless Base Brush for £6 (link).

4. Bags are something that I always try to pick up in the sales as you can get some awesome discounts if you shop at the right times. I instantly fell in love when I first saw this Woven Beatrice Tote Bag in Grey from Kurt Geiger, and it's now in the sale for £75, down from its original price of £250 (link). What a beauty!

5. If you're doing Veganuary and want to expand the concept into your makeup, check out Inika who are one of my favourite cruelty-free, vegan-friendly makeup brands. Their mineral eyeshadows are currently half-price at LookFantastic for £7.97 (link)

6. Luxury makeup fans can bag some excellent bargains at the moment. Check out these Clarins Jolie Rouge Lipsticks that have 70% off, making them a cheap-as-chips £5.99 each over on FragranceDirect (link)

7. Lastly, channel your inner 90s self with this cosy grey jumper dress from New Look - reduced to just £7 (link). Pair with a black beanie and choker as styled, and you're good to go!

*I found all of these bargains via LoveTheSales.com which sources all the best sales online and rounds them up in one place. Super handy for thrifty shoppers! All wishlist picks my own as always :)

Have you bought anything in the January sales this year?

Tag: 7 Beauty Sins

Friday, 10 February 2012

I've seen this tag on LucyLou's blog doing the rounds recently and thought it would be fun to give it a go before the weekend begins.

(1) GREED: What is your most expensive beauty item? And your most inexpensive?

Photobucket
Photobucket

I don't really buy a lot of super-expensive make-up myself, so what I have in my collection were mostly gifts. The most expensive beauty item I remember purchasing myself was the Urban Decay Alice In Wonderland Palette which I paid far too much for from eBay as it sold out so fast. I love it though and it always cheers me up when I open it.

Photobucket

As far as cheaper products go, I'd pick anything from ELF, especially the bits and pieces I've managed to pick up in their 50% off sale.

(2) WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?

Photobucket

I have a serious love/hate thing going on with loose mineral eyeshadows (ones pictured above are from Everyday Minerals). I almost always use pressed eyeshadows because I find loose ones a little messy to use sometimes, but when I do use them, I always want to use them more. Same goes for my MAC pigments.

(3) GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?

Photobucket

No surprises that these are all lip products! Lanolips Lemon Aid is so yummy and sweet tasting, as is Barry M's Toffee Lip Gloss Wand which tastes and smells EXACTLY like it's namesake. And of course, I couldn't forget to mention my favourite Lush Sweet Lips Scrub which is made from sugar and flavoured with chocolate and vanilla.

(4) SLOTH: What beauty products do you neglect due to laziness?

Photobucket

Highlighters definitely (above: The Body Show Warm Glow Baked Bronzer which I use as a highlight mainly as it's quite shimmery, and Benefit's High Beam). If I'm in a rush or just can't be bothered, then these will be omitted from my make-up routine and left in their drawers.

(5) PRIDE: Which beauty products give you the most self-confidence?

Photobucket

Bronzers, blushes and a good concealer! If I have those three with me, then I'm feeling and looking my best. (above: Benefit's Hoola Bronzer, The Balm's Fratboy Blush and Collection 2000's Lasting Perfection Concealer)

(6) LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in a partner?
A good sense of humour is a must, someone who can make me smile will always be a winner in my books! Someone who stands up for what they believe in and keeps up to date with current affairs is also cool because I talk about politics and the news far too much. Must like animals, especially dogs, and having a beard, tattoos and a Scottish accent would be perfect! :D

(7) ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as gifts / or are you wishing for currently?

Photobucket

My current wishlist looks like a bit like this: Lush P.S I Love You Giftset, Neom Mini Bath Oils Set, a set of Sigma brushes, the biggest bottle of Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Use Dry Oil that I can find, Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette (I know I don't need this but look, it's pretty!) and Daniel Sandler's Watercolour Blush in POP.

Let me know if you do this tag and have a great weekend everyone :)
