New In Beauty: bubu Skincare - Sheet Masks review + Black Friday Offer

bubu Skincare - Sheet Masks review
Newly launched on PrettyLittleThing, bubu Skincare's range of cruelty-free, paraben-free and vegan-friendly sheet masks are both fun and effective to use!

bubu, which stands for 'be you, be unique' is a brand that's successfully adding a sense of playfulness  (their sheet masks contain eco-friendly 'glitterati') to the self-care/self-love movement, and their products have been designed to help boost your confidence and make you feel better about yourself and your skin.

With four face masks and a lip mask to choose from, these colourful metallic packets of sheet masks are destined to become a new favourite amongst those who want to give their skin a weekly 10-15 minute pampering treat. So naturally, when a selection of them arrived through my letterbox recently, I couldn't wait to test them out!

The bubu Sheet Masks have a two-layer design (a top and a bottom part) and they fitted relatively well on my face without sliding off during the treatment time. Each mask is infused with its individual serum-like formula, but unlike some sheet masks which are literally dripping with serum when you take them out the packet, these ones are just wet enough to be applied without any mess, and they have a comfortable silky cellulose feel which makes them really pleasurable to wear.

bubu Skincare #soakmewet Hydrating Sheet Mask*
Keeping your skin hydrated throughout Winter is a must as the colder weather and central heating can cause your complexion to become a lot drier than usual, so this handy Soak Me Wet Hydrating Sheet Mask can help to give it a real moisture boost! Key ingredients include Hyaluronic Acid and Licorice Root to keep your skin hydrated and happier for longer - I really enjoyed this one and it left my skin feeling much plumper and softer immediately afterwards. Suitable for all skin types.

bubu Skincare #t-spot Blemish Busting Sheet Mask*
Breakouts and blemishes are a bugbear of mine thanks to my difficult oily/combination skin, so I was eager to try out the T-Spot Blemish Busting Sheet Mask. Infused with Niacinamide, Pro-Vitamin B6 and a powerful combination of plant-based extracts, it sounded very promising, but honestly, after just one use, I didn't see any difference. Perhaps it's one to try as more of a regular weekly treatment?

bubu Skincare #feelingdirty Pollution Busting Sheet Mask*
We're all aware now that air pollution is one of the leading causes of premature ageing, alongside drinking and smoking, so those living and working in a city may want to consider taking extra care of their skin. This Feeling Dirty Pollution Busting Sheet Mask helps to protect the skin's natural barrier against free radical damage, daily dirt and city grime, thanks to a clever multi-vitamin, Marine based Antioxidant Complex. It feels similar to the Hydrating Sheet Mask above, but left my skin looking clearer and feeling cleaner than before which is always a good sign!

Shop the full range of bubu Skincare at bubuskincare.com & PrettyLittleThing.com - PLT currently has them in their special Black Friday Offer with 20% off (RRP £7 each), so now's a great time to try them out for yourselves!

Shopping The Sales - January Wishlist
The January sales are still in full swing, with lots of brands offering extra last minute discounts on their sales items. With this in mind, I've compiled a little wishlist showcasing some fashion and beauty bargains that I'd love to snap up!

1. A trench coat is a classic for a reason. It always looks smart, and will never, ever go out of style. This one from First & I is the perfect colour, and looks equally great thrown over office/work wear for everyday, or a casual jeans and jumper combo at the weekend. Available from ASOS - on sale for £28 (link).

2. Stay stylish during the cold weather with a high neck, midi length jumper dress like this one from Pretty Little Thing. Like the trench coat, it works well for chic office wear with tights, or you can dress it down with a leather biker jacket and some grungey lace up boots. On offer for a bargain £8 (link).

3. Treat yourself to some new makeup brushes! There are lots of Lottie London brushes on offer over at LookFantastic, including this Flawless Base Brush for £6 (link).

4. Bags are something that I always try to pick up in the sales as you can get some awesome discounts if you shop at the right times. I instantly fell in love when I first saw this Woven Beatrice Tote Bag in Grey from Kurt Geiger, and it's now in the sale for £75, down from its original price of £250 (link). What a beauty!

5. If you're doing Veganuary and want to expand the concept into your makeup, check out Inika who are one of my favourite cruelty-free, vegan-friendly makeup brands. Their mineral eyeshadows are currently half-price at LookFantastic for £7.97 (link)

6. Luxury makeup fans can bag some excellent bargains at the moment. Check out these Clarins Jolie Rouge Lipsticks that have 70% off, making them a cheap-as-chips £5.99 each over on FragranceDirect (link)

7. Lastly, channel your inner 90s self with this cosy grey jumper dress from New Look - reduced to just £7 (link). Pair with a black beanie and choker as styled, and you're good to go!

*I found all of these bargains via LoveTheSales.com which sources all the best sales online and rounds them up in one place. Super handy for thrifty shoppers! All wishlist picks my own as always :)

Have you bought anything in the January sales this year?

Mini LUSH Sales Haul

Wednesday, 8 January 2014

At the weekend, I popped into Lush with a friend.  I wasn't expecting to find anything left from their annual 50% off xmas sale as I'd assumed that everything would have been snapped up by now, but to my amazement there were a couple of things still available on the shelves.

The Body Shop Mini Sales Haul

Monday, 15 July 2013

I was going through some photos earlier today, and had completely forgotten to transfer these from about two weeks ago.  Better late than never though?  Anyway, these are a few bits that I picked up recently in The Body Shop's summer sale.

L'Occitane & LUSH Sales Haul

Friday, 4 January 2013

I didn't really buy much beauty-wise in the sales this year (I feel so old saying this, but most of my xmas money went towards buying a new sofa.  Oh the joys of being an adult!  It is a gorgeous sofa though), but I did manage to pick up these goodies from L'Occitane and LUSH.  As I received some L'Occitane gift vouchers for xmas, I decided to pop in there first:-

The first item I got my greedy mitts on was this incredible Almond Gift Set.  I spotted it ages ago on Angelica's blog (One Little Vice) and was really hoping it would be reduced in the sales.  And it was!  This lovely lot cost around £40 and inside the box were the following:-

2 x 50g Delicious Almond Soaps, 30ml Almond Smooth Hands Hand Cream, 50ml Almond Delicious Paste, 100ml Almond Milk Concentrate and a 500ml bottle of their amazing Almond Shower Oil (with a pump!).

Out of these, I've only tried the Shower Oil before, which is divine to say the least, so I'm excited to try out the rest!

At the counter, they had these gift sets on offer for £12 if you spent over £30 in store.  It has a great mix of some of L'Occitane's best selling products so I couldn't resist picking one up.  It contained the following:-

3ml Precious Cream, 30ml Essential Water, 5ml Precious Eye Balm, 10ml Shea Butter Hand Cream, 100ml Lavender Foaming Bath,  75ml Pivione Flora Shower Gel, 50ml Verbena Shower Gel, 100g Honey Soap and a cute little make-up/wash bag.

I've only tried the Shea Butter Hand Cream, so again very much looking forward to giving all of these products a go!  I'll probably include them in future 5 Mini Reviews posts so keep an eye out for those.

I went to LUSH a few days ago, so I missed out on the mad sales frenzy that always ensues.  Luckily for me, they had a couple of things still left on the shelves when I got there, so I picked up a 250g bottle of Snow Fairy Shower Gel and a little Winter Wonderland Gift Set which had a Snowcake Soap and a 45g pot of Dream Cream in it.  As these were half-price, my total at the till came to about £6.50, so not bad at all!

Did you pick up any beauty goodies in the sales this year?
