July was a particularly good month for new beauty discoveries, so here are my favourites of the bunch!
I really didn't want to like this because of the pricetag but damn it, it might be the best dry shampoo I've ever tried! It's got some fancy triple action cleaning system going on in the formula that means it actually 'cleans' your hair properly instead of just dumping a load of powder on the top, and it completely absorbs any excess oil, grease, dirt etc like no other product I've used before. I can use this on day 3 of not washing my hair, and my hair will look and feel amazingly clean after a few spritzes of this. Super clean, fresh and slightly floral scent, plus it's also sulphates and silicones free.
KIKO Velvet Mat Satin Lipstick in 601 Nude Rose & Cream Crush Eyeshadow in 06 (swatches & reviews here)
My current favourite lip and eye makeup combo are these two from KIKO. The lipstick is a lovely, easy to wear everyday nude, and the cream eyeshadow is a warm toned shimmery chocolate that I can apply a tiny bit of all over my lids for a touch of depth and definition.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Honey & Becca Ultimate Coverage Concealing Creme in Butterscotch (swatches & reviews here)
Another favourite makeup combo comes from these two high-end concealers which I've been using almost everyday since I got them. Both of these work exceptionally well under the eyes to erase dark circles, and I can also use them on blemishes and acne/pigmentation marks for a flawless, long-lasting finish.
Benefit Gimme Brow (magazine freebie here)
Out of all of the new Benefit brow products that have been recently released as magazine freebies, Gimme Brow is the one that I've used the most, and the one that I rushed to get a backup (or two) of. A fab fibre based brow gel that helps to thicken up thin brows and defines them at the same time - so quick and easy to use!
Balance Me Super Toning Body Polish* (150ml, £18, link)
Pampering wise, I've been enjoying this body scrub from Balance Me which has a gorgeous spa-like scent (lots of lavender, juniper, geranium and bergamot essential oils - heavenly!) and uses ground walnut shells to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells. It's not a hardcore scrub, but it's definitely effective and perfect for those who have sensitive skin.
My last two favourites come from Vita Liberata. Their new release Body Blur, is quite simply an amazing wash-off self-tanner that lasts all day and doesn't transfer or rub off, even if you get caught in the rain. Great for legs to cover up any bruises or imperfections, and the subtle tan colour looks so natural without any orangeness.
I also really like VL's Trystal Self Tanning Bronzing Minerals which is basically a very clever mineral bronzer infused with DHA to give you a long lasting, sunkissed glow. And it works! The results are very subtle when you first wash it off, but it does seem to be buildable, so if I use it everyday for a week, I'll have a much darker but still natural looking tan by the weekend. The kabuki brush that it comes with deserves a special mention too, as it's crazy soft and has a great shaped head for blending in the mineral bronzer. Love it!
