Trying Out Lord & Berry Makeup: Review & Swatches
Milan-based makeup ateliers, Lord & Berry, have made a couple of appearances in various UK beauty boxes, so I was curious to try out some of their bestsellers to get a wider opinion on the brand.

I first discovered Lord & Berry in a beauty box, about two or three years ago. They slowly started to creep into other boxes and I became a bit obsessed with their lipsticks, especially one in the shade 'Brick', which is the most perfect, on-trend, reddy pink-meets-90s brown. It's one of the few lipsticks that I've actually ever used up, and I purchased a replacement as soon as it was finished.

Oddly though, I never really looked into more from them, mainly because they weren't available in any proper shops at the time, and it's always a risk buying makeup that you're not already familiar with online. However, I've started to see them pop up more and more on my social media feeds recently, so when they got in touch to ask if I'd like to review some of their bestsellers, well of course I had to say yes.

Let's swatch and play!

Lord & Berry Powder Blush in Sunkissed* (4g, £18, link)
Despite being a mid-high end makeup brand, the packaging for this blush is disappointingly basic and isn't something that I would take a chance with in my travel bag, but the formula is lovely. I have the shade 'Sunkissed', which is a pretty, everyday warm peach, and one of those shades that seems to suit a range of skin tones.  It's very flattering on, and has the tiniest amount of shimmer to give a healthy, glowy warmth to the cheeks. Soft and buildable, it blends easily and lasts well throughout the day.

Lord & Berry Luminizer Strobing Stick in Moon* (4g, £13, link)
I'm loving highlighters like everyone else at the moment, and this one is gorgeous! Packaged in the same way as their lipsticks, this handy stick formula is creamy and super easy to work with. Just swipe onto the tops of cheekbones, under the brow bone, on the cupid's bow etc, and blend out with your fingertips for a beautiful glow in seconds. The shade below is called Moon, a pale yellowy silver, with lots of metallic shine. Usually, I tend to go for warmer toned highlighters, but Moon seems to suit me so I'm not going to complain! The only downside with this product is that it doesn't last long before starting to fade (I'd say two hours max), but thanks to the portability of the twist up tube, it's not too much of hassle to whip it out for a quick touch up.

Swatches! From L-R: Lord & Berry Luminizer Strobing Stick in Moon, Timeless Kissproof Lipstick in Blossom, Ultimate Lipliner in Natural and Powder Blush in Sunkissed.

Lord & Berry Ultimate Lipliner in Natural* (1.8g, £9, link)
'Natural' is the perfect nude pink for me. It swatches on my hand a little darker than it shows up on my lips, but the end result is exactly what I want from a neutral lipliner. This pairs well with lots of my favourite everyday lippies, and I like how it looks all over the lips on its own too, as you can see below. Applies smoothly, doesn't feel drying and helps to keep my lipstick in place for much longer.

Lord & Berry Timeless Kissproof Lipstick in Blossom* (7ml, £15, link)
I have a serious love/hate thing going on with liquid lipsticks. I love how they look, but I hate how drying most of them are. Luckily, this one doesn't feel drying, and it has a gorgeous, velvety matte finish to it. Blossom is a popular on-trend shade and I can totally see why - it's got that right mix of warm pink and brown, just stunning and so wearable. I also love the formula which is completely smudge-proof, very long-wearing (you can happily eat and drink whilst wearing this and it'll still look perfect for hours to come), and gives full coverage in just one coat. One of the best liquid lipsticks out there!

  5. I'm a big fan of Lord & Berry! I first tried their lipstick crayons and have around 4/5 of them now. I recently tried a mascara and wasn't too keen on that but I've also just received some eye shadows to try and they are gorgeous, and I don't even use eye shadow very often x
