Introducing: Alteya Organics - Active Vitality Energizing Eye Cream & Rose Otto Face Wash review

Thursday 8 November 2018

Rose is without a doubt one of my favourite flowers and I absolutely adore the scent, plus it's something that I often look out for in natural skincare products as it has some amazing properties.

When I came across Alteya Organics I immediately fell in love because they make all of their products in the famous Rose Valley in Bulgaria (their distillery and manufacturing facility are situated in the very heart of the valley). The region is well known around the world for its beautiful Rose Otto Oil, and Alteya Organics have been a part of its heritage for a long time. Originally founded back in 1999, the family-owned business has been growing roses on its own fields for over a century and to this day, they still grow and harvest Rose, Lavender, Chamomile and Calendula for use in their award-winning skincare.

Organic farming requires a high level of investment and careful management, so it's great to see that all of Alteya's products are certified USDA and NaTrue organic, and everything is free from parabens, petrolatum, paraffin, dyes, mineral oil, and any other chemical preservatives.

This cruelty-free, luxury natural brand has a large range of skincare available which includes lip balms, hand creams, toners, facial oils, baby products, sunscreens, body lotions, cleansers, serums and more, so there's plenty to discover. To whet your appetite, you can read my thoughts on two of their bestsellers below; the Active Vitality Energizing Eye Cream and the Rose Otto Face Wash.

Alteya Organics Active Vitality Energising Eye Cream review
Alteya Organics Active Vitality Energizing Eye Cream* (15ml, £25, link)

I have very dry under eyes so I always look out for an eye cream that will deeply hydrate, yet not overload the delicate eye area, as too much moisture or heaviness can cause puffiness which is not a good look! Thankfully, this one has got both the consistency and the formulation spot on with its expert blend that features key ingredients such as Alteya's Rose Jasminium Rejuvenating Complex, Blue Algae Concentrate, Hyaluronic Acid, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Rose Damascena Flower Oil and Cocoa Butter to name but a few.

It feels very rich and luxurious, yet absorbs easily and like most eye creams, a little goes a long way. An excellent one to try if you're looking for something to use in the mornings that will rejuvenate, smooth out fine lines and make your eyes look a little brighter and more 'awake.'

Alteya Organics Rose Otto Face Wash review
Alteya Organics Rose Otto Face Wash* (250ml, £17, link)

Suitable for all skin types and gentle enough for sensitive skin, the Rose Otto Face Wash is a sheer joy to use, if like me, you love natural rose scents because it really does smell beautiful! Specially formulated with an award-winning blend of natural ingredients and essential oils (such as Bulgarian Rose Otto Oil, Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil and Olive Fruit Oil), this cleanser is rich in fatty acids and nutrients, which help to effortlessly dissolve makeup and remove all traces of daily dirt and impurities. It has a light gel-meets-oil consistency that's similar to a runny honey in texture (minus the stickiness of course!), and one pump is all you need to use each time.

This face wash leaves my skin feeling clean, soft, nourished and thoroughly pampered, so if you love luxury rose-based skincare, Alteya Organics is definitely a brand to try out.

Are you a fan of rose in skincare?
