Haircare review: Louise Galvin Natural Locks Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner & Deep Conditioning Treatment

Monday 10 December 2012

Louise Galvin Natural Locks Nourishing Shampoo* (300ml, £7.95), Nourishing Conditioner* (300ml, £7.95) & Deep Conditioning Treatment* (300ml, £9.95)

I always see Louise Galvin's haircare products raved about on blogs, so I was delighted to be able to try out some of their range and see what all the fuss was about for myself.  For the last couple of weeks, I have been trialling these three products from their award winning Natural Locks line.  I think these are packaged beautifully and they look very chic in my bathroom!

Louise Galvin Natural Locks Nourishing Shampoo is made for dry/damaged hair which sums up my hair in a nutshell.  It helps to repair damaged hair by using Pro Vitamin B5 to increase hair elasticity as well as retaining moisture.  Vegetable proteins make hair more manageable and smoothes down the cuticles, whilst Sweet Almond Extract restores moisture and adds extra shine.  The SLS free formula lathers up really well for a natural shampoo and it has a pleasant sweet herbal/floral scent.  After washing, my hair felt soft, hydrated and rather swishy!  It didn't help much with my frizziness, but I was happy with the results and experienced no issues with it annoying my sensitive scalp.

Louise Galvin Natural Locks Nourishing Conditioner has Sweet Almond, Linseed and Honey Extracts to deeply nourish hair and restore moisture.  It's also enriched with natural oils to restore moisture and repair chemical or environmental damage, and it promises to deliver incredible shine.  Sadly I didn't notice any of the shine aspects, but it was a nice conditioner to use and left my hair feeling soft.

Louise Galvin Natural Locks Deep Conditioning Treatment aims to leave hair soft and silky through the use of vegetable proteins and honey derivatives without it feeling weighed down.  I was super impressed with this!  It's not one to use when you're in a rush because you ideally need to leave it on for about 30 mins (label instructions say at least 10 mins, and I got much better results with 30), but as a weekly intensive treatment it's perfect.  My hair was incredibly soft, shiny and looked like I'd just come out of a salon.  Amazing for less than a tenner!

Louise Galvin products are free from SLS, PEGS, Parabens, Silicones, Petrochemicals, Polymers and Synthetic Fragrances.  The company is also carbon neutral.

Have you tried any Louise Galvin haircare?

  3. I've tried all 3 and the treatment is definitely my fav. I don't use it as often as I should as I'm usually in a rush and don't have time to leave it on my hair but it always leaves my hair so soft.

    I love the packaging too.

  6. I absolutely love the intensive rescue mask for thick or curly hair. My hair is actually neither thick nor curly, but I've had samples of this through Latest in Beauty and its been absolutely fab on my hair, doesn't leave it too heavy afterwards, just really shiny and soft.

I find the website a nightmare though and can never find it on there to purchase for myself. Which is a major disappointment.
