Worth The Hype: Perricone MD No Concealer Concealer review

Tuesday 19 February 2013

Perricone MD No Concealer Concealer* (9g, £37, link)

I've lost count of the amount of times that this concealer has been recommended to me, so when the opportunity arose to finally try out this cult product for myself, I jumped at it.  Perricone MD No Concealer Concealer is described as 'not your typical concealer', which sums it up perfectly.

This multi-tasking, unconventional concealer comes packaged in a luxe glass bottle with a pump that dispenses the right amount of product every time.  It promises to camouflage imperfections, dark circles and brighten the eye area, whilst also protecting it with a broad spectrum mineral-based, non-chemical SPF 35.  So does it live up to the hype?

Well, mostly, yes!  I found the formula to be beautifully lightweight and non-greasy which I wasn't expecting at all when I first applied it because it's thicker than most liquid foundations I've tried.  Somehow, it just manages to blend seamlessly into the under eye area for an easy and natural, 'I'm not wearing any make-up' look.  It also lasted on me all day without creasing (a big positive for me as I have quite a few lines under my eyes) and didn't dry out or go cakey either.  Very impressive!

Perhaps the only minor downside for me was that I found this more useful as a corrector for my dark circles, rather than a complete concealer.  This is probably because my dark circles are quite severe, so if yours aren't, I imagine this would be perfect for most people as an all-in-one product.  If they are, then I'd recommend applying just a small amount of your usual concealer over the top to completely cover them up.  It would also be good if this came in a few other shades for those with very fair and darker skintones, but overall, I'd say it lives up to the hype!

Have you tried Perricone MD No Concealer Concealer?

  1. I have used the no foundation foundation and it was really nice. I thought it would be way too dark as I am super pale, but it blends really well and gives a nice healthy look. I want the concealer now too :)

  2. I'm so glad that you did a review on this. I've been checking this out online for a long time, but I was afraid to buy because of the price tag. I've read that there is a smell to it- is that true?
I have really dark under eye circles- so I think I would really like this...

    1. It has a bit of a strange smell that I can't pinpoint exactly what it is, but if it helps, I found it soon disappeared after I blended it in. If you do pick it up, just remember that you many need to apply some of your regular concealer over the top if you have very dark circles :) xx

  4. I've never heard anything about this concealer before but it sounds really interesting :) I just wish it had a better coverage because I suffer of severe under eye circles too :( My holy grail concealer is the MUFE full cover! it's seriously amazing!! it has good coverage without looking cakey and it's waterproof (i get no creasing at all!). If you haven't tried that one, you should definitely get a sample someday :) xx

  6. This sounds like such a lovely product but I worry that it will be too dark for me as most 'one tone suits all' colours are. xx

  9. Great review, I've always wondered about this product and whether it was worth it or not. I have very bad eye circles too so hopefully something like this should help them!

    1. I think it would definitely help as corrector for very dark circles, just make sure to add a little of your regular concealer over the top to completely cover them up :) x

  10. I think the quality of the no foundation and no concealer are brilliant for a natural look, if a bit pricy. unfortunately I don' like the use of fish oils etc so I've always shied away.

  11. It looks quite creamy while still being lightweight! Good to hear it lasts well and didn't crease as well :)

  12. I've read good things about this concealer but it would act only like a corrector for me too. I may try it after I finish my Giorgio Armani matter corrector, tho. X

    1. Yeah I'd say it's worth a go just for the corrector qualities alone :) x
