July Empties / Products I've Used Up

Tuesday 30 July 2013

Empties time!  You all know the drill by now; here are the products I've finished off this month, my thoughts on them, and whether I'll be repurchasing them in the future.

Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion*
This does exactly what it says on the bottle - it's a delicate, water-like lotion that soothes and revitalises tired and irritated eyes.  One that I highly recommend hayfever sufferers to try out.  Repurchase?  Yes.

Charme D'Orient Belle Nigelle Relaxing Body Massage Cream*
I believe this was from the xmas Betrousse box.  I wasn't keen on the strange, almost spicy scent that it has, so I used it up as a foot cream.  Has a nice warming effect.  Repurchase?  No, it was OK but the scent just wasn't my thing.

JASON Revitalising Citrus Pure Natural Body Wash*
Wow, this bottle is ENORMOUS, it's almost a litre!  Seriously, it's taken me about a year to finally finish it up!  The top has a big pump which makes it handy for dispensing just the right amount each time, and it's a lovely, refreshing body wash to use, especially during the summer months.  Repurchase?  Will certainly consider it once I've used up some others.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser
A very firm skincare staple of mine, have lost count of how many of these tubes I've gone through now.  I love it, works well for my skin and removes every single trace of make-up, including waterproof mascara.  Repurchase?  Already have another on the go!

Original Beer Cosmetics Beer Hair Balm (Czech brand)
This stuff is so cool; it's an intensive hair treatment which uses beer as a key ingredient for super shiny hair.  I've used up one of these before, so my friend Sophia brought me one back when she went to Prague earlier this year.  Repurchase?  Not available here sadly, I should have asked her for two ;)

Essential Care Organic Rose Moisturiser*
I really like this light, rose scented moisturiser and have used up a couple of sample sizes of it now.  Repurchase?  Very tempted to once I've used up my current stash of moisturisers.

Bourjois 1 Second Magic Nail Polish Remover
Another well loved favourite of mine - it's certainly works wonders (like magic!) when it comes to removing nail polish.  You can see my review of how well it works here.  I think this is my second or third tub.  Repurchase? Yep!

Assorted mascaras
I'm a self-confessed mascara junkie, so about twice a year I'll have a quick cull of my opened stash.  These are the ones heading for the bin today:-

Bellapierre Lashing Building Mascara (review) -  It's OK, but doesn't really 'build lashes'.  Repurchase? No.

Lavera Intense Volumizing Mascara* (review) - Again, this was OK, but I wouldn't say it volumises lashes at all, it's more of an everyday look you get from it.  Repurchase? No.

The Body Shop Big And Curvy Mascara - Wasn't impressed with this, the formula is very wet, it didn't do anything for me, and it smells awful!  Repurchase? No.

Avon Super Shock Max Waterproof Mascara - A dreadful mascara, one of the worst I've ever used.  The formula is so wet that it takes forever to dry and then doesn't live up to its waterproof claims.  Repurchase? No.

Liz Earle Lash Definition Smudgeproof Mascara* (review) - Finally a good one!  In fact, this is one of my HG mascaras.  It's just amazing; smudgeproof, waterproof, pigmented and makes my lashes look super defined and long, hooray!  Repurchase? Yes.

    1. It's really nice, I like how light it is so my skin never feels overloaded whenever I've used it. The JASON body washes are fantastic value for money, they give you so much!

  3. I like the Jason body washes, I've just never bought one for myself because they're so HUGE and I like to switch out scents, so it would take me a lifetime to use one up. :D Finding a HGA mascara is such a chore, isn't it?! Glad you found one you like.

    1. Yeah it's one of the reasons why it's taken me so long to finish that JASON Body Wash - I'm always switching what scents I use, so a bottle lasts forever!

    1. It's lovely! And yep, that's true - I wrote a DIY post on using beer as a hair treatment here if you fancy a read - mainly works best for dark hair, but I've seen some blonde bloggers mention it too! x

  10. I'm going to try some Jason products I think they are such great value for money! I might even try their deodorant - have you tried any natural ones? That beer hair stuff sounds awesome but did it not make your hair smell like beer?! x

    1. I haven't tried JASON's deodorants, but I swear by Dr Organic's Pomegranate one which I reviewed here and use nearly everyday. The Czech Beer Hair Balm smells a bit like beer but has other stuff in it which masks it quite well. I wrote a DIY post here on using pure beer with honey if you're interested, but that DOES smell like beer! x

  11. I'm still waiting for that Bourjois nail polish remover to hit our shores! Nail polish removal is always so tedious for me - hoping it makes it less of a chore :) Still need to try the Liz Earle C&P, I've been using a Sanctuary one but not sure how close the two are (except in same) :p
