Summer Staple: Purepotions Rescue Salves Set - Review

Monday 5 August 2013

 Purepotions Rescue Salves Set* (4 x 15mls, £16.99, link)

Whilst I love Summer in all of its glory, it does have a habit of throwing up a few problems such as having to deal with pesky insect bites, sunburn, and sore feet from walking in sandals all day.  But before you rush off to your local chemist, why not turn straight to Mother Nature instead?  Or more specifically, Purepotions and their wonderful Rescue Salves Set.

Housed in a simple, drawstring 'Bag Of Ethics' (that's an environmentally friendly product which has been manufactured in a Fairtrade accredited, Ethically audited and Carbon Neutral factory to you and me), this natural first aid kit will be one you'll reach for all year long, not just for the summer months.  It'll also come in handy for any festivals, camping & holiday trips you may have planned.

This Purepotions Rescue Salves Set comprises of all four of their full size first aid balms, each of which serves its own purpose for a variety of skin related complaints and emergencies.  The balms are made with a base blend of olive fruit oil, beeswax and safflower seed oil, and feature their own specific key ingredients to treat certain ailments.

Arnica Rescue Salve
works for all manners of sprains, strains and bruises.

Calendula & Comfrey Rescue Salve
suitable for use on cuts and grazes, thanks to its natural tissue regenerative properties.

Lavender Rescue Salve
a star multi-purpose product that you can apply to minor burns, sunburn, chapped skin and as a lip balm.

Tea Tree Rescue Salve
one for use on cold sores, blemishes, bites, stings and any fungal conditions (tea tree oil being well known for its anti-bacterial magical powers).

I've been using this kit for the last month for every little thing that has cropped up, and can say that these rescue salves work just as well (if not better) than their mainstream counterparts.  Mother Nature never fails to surprise me!

Rescue Salves are available from Purepotions.co.uk as a set and individually.

Have you tried anything from Purepotions?

  2. This is a perfect bag with everything and anything you could need! I love using arnica on my muscles after a workout and I once fell down the stairs and had a massive bruise on my arm and after two days of using arnica it had disappeared! Think I might have to buy the tea tree one for my holiday to help get rid of pesky bites! xx
