Tried & Tested: HealGel Intensive Review

 HealGel Intensive* (30ml, £37.50, link)

I'm a sucker for cool packaging, so when this arrived through my letterbox a little while ago I couldn't wait to try it out.  If your skin is ever troublesome and needs rescuing from a range of problems, then this could be a holy grail product for you.

HealGel Intensive was created by a team of the world's finest cosmetic surgeons as they spent over 3 years creating a product that would speed up the recovery of their patients skin.  The end result was a multi-purpose formula which quickly found a cult following among those who had had cosmetic surgery, as well as those who hadn't.  I've never had any plastic surgery (and to honest I think I'm way too squeamish to even consider it in the future!), so I was attracted to HealGel for its impressive claims for helping with things like eczema, stretch marks and preventing wrinkles.

The formula is a super light, non-greasy gel which has a pleasant, fresh and clean fragrance which smells more natural than perfumed.  To use you simply rub in a small amount into whatever area you want to apply it, and it soothes it instantly with a subtle cooling effect, soaking into the skin straight away.  The gel provides a protective barrier allowing key active ingredients such as Arnica and Madecassoside to do their magic.

You can use it on the face to soothe away any redness or inflammation (great for those with sensitive skin too), to help reduce puffiness and eye bags (useful for hayfever sufferers!), on wrinkles to smoothe them out, and on acne and blemishes to help clear them up.  I found it also works well as an overall face primer for creating a smooth, irritant free base for applying make-up.  On the body (and of course face if you have any of these there as well) you can use it for relieving the dryness of eczema and psoriasis, on stretch marks, on sunburn, for reducing any swelling or bruising, and of course on any scars to make them less visible.  A star multi-purpose product if I ever did see one!

Have you tried anything from the HealGel range?

  2. I love the packaging too- like how it looks a bit like a pharmacy label or something has been stuck on the bottle.
