Review: Flamingo Candles - Candy Floss from the S/S14 Candy Shop Range

Thursday 27 February 2014

Where possible, I like to buy paraffin free candles because they burn so much better, and let's face it, the more we can avoid using paraffin in anything, the better.  However, I do miss some of the more sugary sweet flavours that brands like Yankee Candle offer, so I wanted to find a natural alternative.  And here it is, complete with a cute flamingo attached!

Flamingo Candles are a new independent company based in South Wales who create a whole range of handmade, organic candles featuring their little mascot, Florrie the Flamingo.  I'm partial to a bit of kitsch and it doesn't really get much quirkier than this does it?!

Their candles are made from eco friendly, fairtrade soy wax, with each one having its special blend of fragrance poured by hand, into their iconic square shaped glass jars (featuring Florrie of course).  The wick is made of natural cotton and the candle burns cleanly without any icky black soot or smoke.

For S/S14, Flamingo Candles have released a special Candy Shop range featuring five yummy sweet shop flavours; Parma Violet, Pear Drops, Vanilla Milk Bottles, Candy Floss and Bubblegum.  I was kindly sent their pink Candy Floss one and oh my, it smells amazing!  It's so sugary sweet and reminds me of trips to the fair where I'd beg my mum to buy me a bag of sticky pink Candy Floss (after much bartering, I always got my way!).

Their candles are available in two sizes; 200g which burns for up to 50 hours and a larger 520g which burns for over 100 hours.  You can also purchase Scent Melts for your oil burner as well.  I think these would make a lovely gift or treat for yourself!

Flamingo Candles Candy Shop range is available to buy from their online shop hereCandy Floss* (200g shown above) retails at £12.  Go check out their other scents too!
