New In: Bodhi & Birch Lime Blossom Protecting Hand Serum review

Friday 30 May 2014

If you've been following my blog for a while, you'll have no doubt seen countless raves about the eco-luxe British brand Bodhi.  They have recently undergone a subtle rebranding and changed their name to Bodhi & Birch to illustrate their unique 'East meets West' philosophy, which I think is pretty neat.

The first product to be properly launched under the new name, is the Lime Blossom Protecting Hand Serum, which I believe is going to appeal to a lot of people.  Hand creams often appear to fall into a love it or hate it category, with many complaints for the latter revolving around thick, sticky and greasy formulas.  Personally, I'm a hand cream junkie and don't mind thick formulas as long as they're aren't too overly greasy, but I always prefer much lighter ones in Summer when my hands are naturally less dry.

Which is where this little gem comes into play.  The Lime Blossom Protecting Hand Serum is a beautifully crafted formula that has all the benefits and qualities of what you'd expect from a traditional serum.  It absorbs into the skin quickly, doesn't feel greasy or sticky, and is super duper light, yet completely nourishing.  You only need one drop (that's it!), a quick massage into the hands, and you're good to go.  The serum contains high quality, anti aging and hydrating ingredients such as Olive Squalane, Safflower, Plum Kernel, and Rosehip Oils, as well as Lime and Green Mandarin for their anti bacterial properties.  My hands were left feeling soft, moisturised and protected from the elements.

Did I also mention is smells incredible?  Oh yes, the scent is truly divine - wonderfully fresh and uplifting, with a sweet floral and citrusy tang to it.  It smells like Summer in a bottle!  P.S: I've also applied a tiny amount of this to my hair to defrizz and smooth, it worked a treat.  Hint hint, Bodhi & Birch - I'd love to see a hair oil/serum created!

Bodhi & Birch Lime Blossom Protecting Hand Serum* (30ml, £22) is available from various stockists and direct from bodhiandbirch.com

    1. I know, it smells amazing! I think one of the (many) key selling points of Bodhi & Birch is that there scents are so unique and different to other products I've tried so it's really hard to compare it with something else! xx
