Proving that you don't have to spend a fortune to indulge in a little pampering, Superdrug's new 99p face masks are an easy, purse friendly addition to your skincare routine.

I love nothing more than a hot bath, a glass of wine, a good book and a face mask for when I need some 'me time'.  Over the past 3 weeks, I've been indulging in this very simple (yet thoroughly relaxing) ritual to bring you this review of some of the latest face masks to join Superdrug's 99p range.  I think these are great to try out and I managed to get two uses out of each of the Superfruits Clay and Apricot Self-Heating Masks which makes them even more affordable to use on a regular basis!

Superdrug Superfruits Clay Mask*
Using the antioxidants of Goji, Pomegranate and Acai Berry Extracts, this fruity Kaolin Clay and Dead Sea Salt based mask gets deep down into the skin and removes all of those impurities that clog it up e.g dirt and excess oil.  It gets to work in 10-15 minutes and feels like a standard clay mask as it gently hardens when it's about time to wash it off.  Afterwards my skin was left feeling thoroughly clean, soft and super smooth to touch with nearly all blackheads removed.

Superdrug Apricot Exfoliating Self-Heating Mask*
For a full spa-like pampering session, you really can't beat using a self-heating mask.  I always reach for these in the colder Winter months but like to use them every now and again as a treat.  This mask has tiny crushed Apricot Seeds and Bamboo Power to gently exfoliate and remove dead skin.  The 'heating' feeling lasted for 2 or 3 minutes but that's generally what I expect and I left the mask on for around 15 minutes overall.  Once I'd rinsed it all off, my skin felt like a baby's bottom and looked clearer too.

Superdrug Manuka Honey Peel-Off Mask*
With extracts of Manuka Honey, Chamomile and Jasmine Flowers, this peel-off mask is ideal if your skin needs something a bit more gentle and non-abrasive to remove impurities and dead skin cells.  It was slightly runny and sticky to use which made it tricky to apply, but once it was on the skin I didn't experience any problems with it.  I left it on for about 30 minutes as some parts hadn't fully dried until then, so once everything was completely dry, I gently peeled it off.  After a quick rinse, my skin felt very clean and soft.

Superdrug's 99p face masks are BUAV cruelty free certified, suitable for vegetarians and available both instores and online at superdrug.com.  Currently in the Buy 1, Get 2nd Half Price offer!

Have you tried any of these?

  2. Me and my friends always used to buy ones like these when we had sleepovers, but I've not used one in forever. I may have to try these though when I go into town next, for the price they seem like such a steal! x

    1. Just checked and they vary from mask to mask - I'd say half of the ingredients in them are natural or natural derived if that helps? They list them in full on the sachets :) xx
