The other day, I went to visit the Selfridges counter of luxury Japanese brand, RMK, as part of a small blogger event that they were putting on to showcase their new Power Of Love A/W Collection.

Located in the Beauty Hall of Selfridges (Bullring, Birmingham), RMK sits comfortably amongst the likes of Tom Ford, Suqqu, Chanel, Laura Mercier, Charlotte Tilbury, Bare Minerals, Clarins etc. In a nutshell, it's high-end shopping heaven and well worth a visit if you're in Birmingham. RMK are a brand who I've heard a lot about on the blogosphere but before my visit I'd only used their Refreshing Gel moisturiser (which is great stuff) before, so I was really excited to find out more about them and their products.

They've recently launched their new make-up collection for A/W called 'Power Of Love' which is centered around the theme of matte and shiny textures.  The new Limited Edition products include Matte Shiny Eyepencils (featuring a matte crayon shade one end and a metallic eyeshadow powder on the other), Matte Shiny Cheeks (a matte blusher heart with a shimmer highlighter), Shiny Sheer Lip Gloss, matte and shiny Nail Colors and Matte Mascaras.  Also included are the new Eyebrow products which have refillable powder compartments, spooles, plus a handy new Eyebrow Kit and Eyebrow Gel

As well as viewing the Power Of Love Collection, I was able to get an exclusive preview of their soon to be launched Creamy Foundation which is a reformulated version of their current bestselling base.  Available in 7 shades, this is a beautiful light weight foundation that offers buildable coverage and a glowy/dewy finish.
RMK's make-up artists: Megumi and Shanara Begum

Head of Make-Up, Shanara, gave me a makeover using the new Power Of Love products and she also introduced me to RMK's skincare line.  I fell in love with the bestselling Cleansing Balm which is rose-scented and left my skin feeling hydrated and softened, whilst also removing my make-up.  I have to say that I always feel really nervous and self-conscious whenever I'm at a counter having my make-up done because you often have shoppers walking past who then stop and stare at you (!), but Shanara was so friendly and knowledgable about everything she was talking about, that I hardly noticed anyone else.

We decided on a natural, everyday look and Shanara explained that much of RMK's make-up range is especially suitable for casual looks, but they can be easily built up for more evening/night looks.  She used the new Matte Shiny Eyepencil in Burgundy, Matte Shiny Cheeks in Light Pink, Matte Mascara in Black and Shiny Sheer Gloss in Dark Beige, and the new Creamy Foundation in 102. I was also impressed by RMK's eyelash curlers and their brushes which are unbelievably soft and versatile.
Quick selfie with Shanara (left) and RMK Birmingham Account Manager, Sobia Ahmed.  The look was really natural and pretty, and something I'd definitely wear for everyday!

At the end, Sobia very kindly gave me a super generous RMK goody bag which comprised of the new Matte Shiny Cheeks in Natural Bronze, Matte Mascara in Black, Nail Color in Shiny Navy and a deluxe/travel size sample of their amazing Cleansing Balm.  I'd like to say a big thanks to RMK Birmingham for having me and special thanks to Sobia and Shanara who were so lovely and friendly!

RMK's Power Of Love A/W 2014 Collection is available on counters now and online at various stockists including Selfridges.

Have you tried / do you use anything from RMK?
