The Mid Week / #HumpDay Pamper

It's been a busy week and we're only on Wednesday, so I'm taking half an hour out for a little 'me time' pampering involving a DIY facial and a relaxing new body lotion.  I'm on cloud nine already!

Step One
After I remove all of my make-up, I do a gentle cleanse.  I'm currently testing out Organic Surge Daily Care Face Wash* which is a gel cleanser that lightly foams up, but is SLS free and doesn't dry out my skin.  It's 98.9% natural and smells gorgeous thanks to the Rose and Geranium essential oils. So far, I've been mainly using this in the mornings because it helps to wake me up and leaves my skin feeling fresh and ready for the day, but I do occasionally use it in the evenings before applying face masks.  A good one to try if you're on a budget or if you just want to try out something with cleaner ingredients.

Step Two
Whenever I'm busy or stressed, I find it shows up on my face in the form of a breakout - it seems like its my body's natural way of telling me to re-evaluate what's going on and to slow things down!  This where a good detoxing mask is essential and I've been loving the 20 minute miracle worker, Claudia Louch Mineral Mud Mask* for lifting away all of those trapped impurities and helping my skin to start over again.  It uses a unique blend featuring powerful ingredients such as pure Arctic Mineral Mud, Grape Seed Oil, Avocado Oil, Vitamin E and Shea Butter, to detox stressed out skin, minimise the appearance of pores and leave your complexion looking brighter, clearer and healthier.  It's definitely one of the most expensive face masks I've used though, but at least you can see the results of what you're paying for unlike others I've tried in the past.

Step Three
After using an intense detox face mask, I like to apply a nourishing face oil to rebalance my skin.   So after toning, I'll use something Fazo Prickly Pear Oil* which is a 100% natural oil extracted from prickly pear seeds which have a high concentration of Vitamin E.  It's a very rich oil, so a little most definitely goes a long way and I love the handy rollerball application.  I find that this absorbs into the skin quickly, doesn't feel greasy or sticky at all and deeply hydrates - a great one to use before going to bed.

Step Four
With the DIY facial complete I'm ready to hit the sofa but not before slathering on a relaxing body lotion. Botanicals Calming Lotion* has quickly become a new favourite of mine thanks to it living up to its 'calming' name and helping me to de-stress whilst moisturising my dry skin.  It's packed full of lovely organic ingredients like Shea Butter, Calendula, Aloe Vera and has Lavender and Tea Tree essential oils for their relaxing and antiseptic properties.  A beautiful pampering treat and also good for helping reduce pesky ingrown hairs too.

Have you tried any of these?
Do you like a mid-week pamper when time allows?

  5. That mask definitely does its detoxing job well! It seems to bring out blemishes, which although is annoying to have, it's actually a very good thing! xx
