What's On My Bedside Table? - My Nightstand Beauty Essentials

Sunday 25 January 2015

I like to keep a little selection of beauty products by my bed to use before I turn off the lights.  It only takes me around 10 minutes to apply all of these and my skin certainly thanks me for it in the morning.

For Eyes
Underneath my eyes gets very dry during Winter so I like to apply a little extra eye cream before bed to keep everything moisturised and happy.  I'm currently using Organic Surge Extra Care Hydrating Eye Cream* (20ml, £18.50), which is enriched with organic Jojoba Oil, Cocoa and Shea Butters to deliver a much needed hydration hit.  Whenever I use this, I find that applying concealer the next day is so much easier and looks better too as the undereye area is super smooth and soft.

For Lips
Lip balm is an absolute must for me and I've been using the NUXE Reve de Miel Lip Balm (15g, £9.50) for months now and it never lets me down.  It's got a thick texture so you only need a small amount and it really keeps dry, chapped lips at bay.

For Feet
If I've been stomping around in boots all day or dancing the night away in high heels, I'll treat them to a little TLC before bed.  LUSH Fairtrade Foot Lotion (225g, £9.75) is something that I've been using for years and it's still my favourite peppermint lotion out of all the ones I've ever tried.  It just does the job, feels wonderfully cooling and isn't sticky or greasy.

For Hands
I'm slightly obsessed with hand creams (have a read of my Winter Hands Saviours!) and I love to try new ones whenever I can.  Recently, I've been loving Aveda Hand Relief Night Renewal Serum* (30ml, £25) which is a special intensive anti-aging treatment that helps to improve the overall texture and tone of your hands whilst you sleep.  It feels very light but also very nourishing, and I always wake up to silky soft hands after using this.

For Pillows
I have a lot of problems with switching off and just falling asleep so anything that will help send me off to the land of nod is greatly appreciated.  This Works Sleep Plus Pillow Spray (75ml, £25) is the new 'stronger' version of their much loved pillow spray and so far, it's really been helping.  It's a potent blend of natural ingredients including Lavender, so I simply spritz a little of this over my pillows and I'm off to sleep in no time.

What beauty products do you have on your bedside table?
Have you tried any of these?

  1. That eye cream sounds lovely! The skin around my eyes can get a bit dry as well so I may give it a go!

  2. The Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm is ALWAYS on my beside table, even when I go travelling! It comes everywhere with me if I'm staying over somewhere as it's just the perfect overnight lip balm. I also keep the Body Shop Almond Hand Cream close by as it is probably my favourite hand cream. xx

  3. Sounds silly, but its actually such a good idea to keep a foot cream by your bed. I've never thought about that one before...and I wonder why my feet are dry!

  5. That pillow spray sounds really good, though I'm not a fan of Lavender, but if it helps me sleep I would definitely give it a try!

    1. Pick up a travel size sample if you can - it's not pure Lavender as it's blended with other essential oils so you may not find it too offputting! x
