Organic Beauty Week: 4 Organic Skincare Products To Try
Organic September is in full swing and lots of amazing natural beauty brands have been promoting 'Organic Beauty Week' which runs until the 21st September. To join in with the celebrations, I have a special edit of four organic skincare products that I've been testing out over the past few weeks.

What is Organic Beauty Week?
Organic Beauty Week has been organised by the Soil Association's Organic September movement to motivate consumers to make the switch to organic beauty products, but also to educate them about the accreditations of the organic ingredients in said products. Unlike organic food where there are strict regulations in place, there is currently no legal requirement in the UK for a beauty brand to be accredited if they sell organic products. This glaring hole in regulation and trading law is something that the Soil Association are campaigning to have rectified as the organic beauty business continues to boom as more consumers than ever before are demanding safe, clean ingredients in their toiletries and makeup. If you're new to organic beauty, below are some tried and tested products from natural brands that I trust to give you an idea of the amazing variety of organic skincare that's on the market today.
Nourish Relax Hydrating Peptide Serum
Nourish Relax Hydrating Peptide Serum* (30ml, £20, link)

As the weather turns colder, I'm doing some serious prepping to ensure my skin stays hydrated and happy against the elements. An easy way to boost your existing skincare routine is to add a hydrating serum or face oil and I've been enjoying using this one from british brand, Nourish. Their Relax Hydrating Peptide Serum is 85% organic, cruelty free and full of natural tripeptides to simulate collagen production. It also has Hyaluronic Acid which is a must in any moisture boosting formula, plus there's a special blend of Bisabolol and Ginger to soothe away any irritation and inflammation making this an excellent choice for those with sensitive or troublesome skin.

The serum has a subtle lavender scent, feels light and is easily absorbed without any stickiness. My skin feels wonderfully plumped up and soft afterwards.
Botanicals Body Balm Orange Blossom
Botanicals Body Balm Orange Blossom* (95g, £25.95 - travel size 28g pictured, link)

As well as keeping my face hydrated, I always use body products to keep the rest of me moisturised. My dry skin has been loving Botanicals Body Balm which comes in a gorgeous Orange Blossom scent that smells summery and citrusy. The balm is made from a 89% organic blend of skin softening ingredients such as Shea Butter, Sunflower Seed Oil and Jojoba Oil and combines several pure essential oils like Patchouli and Neroli to create a seriously pampering body balm.

You can use as an all over product (a little goes a long way) or you can simply apply it to dry areas that needed some TLC like hands, feet, cuticles etc so it's a good multi-purpose balm to invest in.
Alva Sanddorn Eye Cream
Alva Sanddorn Eye Cream* (15ml, £18.45, link)

Alva are a popular natural German brand whose organic ingredients are certified by Ecocert, a European accreditation that I trust as much as our Soil Association over here. My mum is a big fan of the brand and I've begun to try out a few products from them. You can purchase Alva online in the UK from Only Naturals

One of Alva's bestsellers is their Sanddorn Eye Cream which is quite a richly textured cream so this is perfect for anyone who has particularly dry underyes or has more mature/aging skin. It uses Tapioca Starch compounds to help fill in fine lines and wrinkles, and there's Cupuacu Butter to deeply moisturise. This will provide a lot of hydration, so I prefer to use it at night and let it do its magic as I sleep. In the morning I notice that my concealer goes on much more smoothly so it's definitely doing something right!
Pinks Boutique Anti Aging Deep Cleansing Melt
Pinks Boutique Anti Aging Deep Cleansing Melt* (60g, £42, link)

Last but not least I wanted to mention Pinks Boutique's award winning Anti Aging Deep Cleansing Melt which is one of the most luxurious cleansing balms that I've tried to date and it has 87% organic ingredients. It won the 2015 Beauty Shortlist award for best Anti-Aging product and it's definitely a contender for holy grail status.

It's super nourishing as it's packed full of natural anti-oxidants to ward off pesky free radicals which are known to accelerate aging of the skin. In addition to this protection, it delivers a welcome dose of hydration thanks to ingredients such as Camellia Oil, Shea Butter, Sunflower Seed Oil, Coconut Oil to name a few, so dry, mature and dehydrated skin types will happily drink this up. As an added bonus it completely removes all make-up, including stubborn and waterproof mascara which is something that other natural cleansing balms I've tried have struggled to do. It's expensive but you get a generous sized glass jar of it, and trust me when I say a little goes a long way so it will last perhaps 2-3 months depending on how much you use.
