Review & Swatches: Lily Lolo Mineral Foundation in Barely Buff, Pressed Bronzer in Miami Beach & Natural Lipstick in Love Affair
I have mentioned my love for Lily Lolo many times on the blog, and I've recently been testing out a few more products from their fantastic mineral makeup line. Here are thoughts on these three!

Last year, British brand Lily Lolo underwent a re-design which appears to have been very successful (mentioned here). I first discovered LL as quite a small niche company on various green beauty blogs, and over the years, it's been amazing to see them grow. The brand are famed for their affordable, high-quality mineral based makeup which is cruelty-free and also free from parabens, synthetic perfumes or dyes.  This year, Lily Lolo are celebrating their 10th birthday which is an outstanding feat when you consider how many other makeup brands have been and gone during that timespan!

To join in with the celebrations, I was kindly asked to review three of their products which allowed me to have a play with these gorgeous pieces below.

When it comes to the world of mineral foundations, my holy grail favourites are from Inika and Bare Minerals so the bar was already set quite high when it came to testing out this one from Lily Lolo. However, I'm pleased to say that this performed very, very well and to the point where I would certainly rank it with those two high-enders.

Lily Lolo's Mineral Foundation comes in a huge plastic pot with sleek frosted sides and a subtle logo on its black lid. Open it up, and you'll find an inbuilt sifter with twist lock which already scores it extra points against the sifter/lock-less Inika. The foundation is available in an impressive 18 shades so it should be easy to find the one suited for your skintone. I chose the shade 'Barely Buff' and it's a good match for my light olive complexion as the next one along, 'In The Buff' would be a fraction too dark for me during this time of the year. There are samples available if you're not sure.

This foundation is finely milled and buffs into the skin like a dream. Use it with a kabuki or something like the Real Techniques Buffing Brush, and you'll have great coverage that's buildable to a light-medium standard. What I love the most about it is that it looks so natural - think 'your skin but better', but covers mild redness easily and evens out my skintone. It lasted well throughout the day (though I'd still have to say the Bare Minerals and Inika last a few hours longer - 12 hours compared to 8-9 for example), and has the bonus of added SPF 15 which is always appreciated. For the price point, this is brilliant, though some many find the packaging to be a little bulky.

Whilst I love using Mineral Foundations, I do sometimes find that loose mineral formulas can be a bit on the messy side and slightly time-consuming to use when I'm running late in the morning. Luckily for people like me, Lily Lolo have branched out and released more pressed mineral products like this bronzer. Available in three shades, this Pressed Bronzer comes in a slim and chic compact complete with a decent sized mirror.

I opted for the shade 'Miami Beach' which is the lightest of the three and I absolutely love it. It looks very natural on and gives you a believable healthy glow instead of a scary orange look. This one is completely matte (zero shimmer) so lighter complexions could also pick it up to contour with. Wears well and is easy to apply- a lovely addition to my (ever-growing!) bronzer collection.

I've been very impressed with Lily Lolo's lipglosses, so I was eager to try out one of their Natural Lipsticks. These are all very creamy so they are perfect for keeping dry winter lips nourished and hydrated, and they don't have any hugely noticeable scent or flavour to them.

The lipstick range currently has 13 shades (including three new ones that came out late August) and I decided to choose 'Love Affair' which is described as a natural browny pink. It looks quite dark in the bullet, but on my lips it's a very sheer wash of colour with a pretty glossy finish. Again, it looks very natural and would be great for everyday/ wearing to work. It's not the longest lasting lipstick but with a colour that's this easy to apply without a mirror, I don't mind so much with touching it up.
