Haircare review: Davines MOMO Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner for Dry/Dehydrated Hair

Davines MOMO Shampoo & Conditoner for Dry/Dehydrated HairFor most of the year, my hair feels naturally quite dry, but during the Winter months, it gets incredibly dry so I always have to switch up my shampoo & conditioner to something much more hydrating.

I've been testing out Davines MOMO Moisturising Shampoo and Conditioner for over a month now and I have mixed feelings on the duo. The Conditioner - I absolutely, absolutely love but the Shampoo is rather underwhelming so let me explain in a little more detail.

Davines MOMO Moisturising Shampoo* (250ml, £14.05, link) is a strange shampoo. It has SLS in it which I'm always wary of (some shampoos I can use with SLS fine, others send my scalp into itch-central - this one is thankfully the former), but it feels like a typical SLS-free shampoo in that it doesn't really lather up very much. You have to really get your hair soaking wet for it to do anything, and when it does, my hair is left feeling no more moisturised than it was before. It doesn't feel heavy or leave any residue, and it cleans my hair thoroughly without stripping it, but it just didn't deliver on the hydration claims for me. As a shampoo for normal, non-dry hair or during the Summer months, this would be perfectly fine and it smells gorgeous like fresh floral almonds. Sadly though, when you pick up a shampoo hoping it'll help dry and dehydrated hair and it doesn't do the job, it's a big let down.

Davines MOMO Moisturising Conditioner* (250ml, £15.60, link) on the other hand is the polar opposite of its shampoo counterpart. This conditioner is seriously hydrating! The consistency is reassuringly thick but it doesn't overload or weigh down my fine hair, instead, it moisturises it like an intensive hair mask would do and leaves it silky soft and bouncy. It's also a fantastic product to help combat frizz as it leaves my dry locks sleek and shiny, making it a lot more manageable to style afterwards. If your hair feels like it needs a hair mask every day, then give this a go. The packaging is a bit annoying to use in the shower but the results from this conditioner are more than worth it.

Have you tried any Davines haircare?
