A few days ago, my The Vegan Kind box arrived and it's packed full of sweet and savoury treats. There's also a product to help with your Spring cleaning, so let's take a closer look at what's inside TVK30.
Vego Vegolino Pralines (180g bag, £5.29)
The Vegan Kind introduced me to the dairy-free wonders of Vego chocolate in a previous box (reviewed here), so I was thrilled to see Vego's brand new Vegolino Pralines in this month's box. A LOT of people have been raving about these and they are absolutely delicious. If I didn't already know they were vegan, I never would have guessed, they're that good and remind me of the pralines from Thorntons. I can't see this bag lasting long though! If you're new to vegan/dairy-free chocolate, you have to check out Vego!
Eat Real Chilli and Lemon Hummus Chips (45g bag, £0.79)
These are also a brand new product on the market and they're made from a blend of Chickpea flour, Rice and Potato Starch with natural flavourings. They're very crunchy, packed full of flavour (the Chilli and Lemon combo is awesome by the way) and remind me of poppadoms. Great to eat on their own or with a dip.
BakedIn Belgian Chocolate Mug Brownie Mix (one serving, 55g, £1.49)
BakedIn - you guys had me at 'Belgian Chocolate Brownie'! I haven't tried this yet, but it's simply a ready made mix that you just add butter (or dairy free alternative) and water to and then pop it into the microwave for 60 seconds to 'bake'. A quick and easy chocolatey cake treat that I'm looking forward to trying this weekend.
Humblestuff Lemon Myrtle Multi-Surface Cleaning Spray (full size, £5)
This month's box was unusually heavy and the culprit was an all natural multi-surface cleaning spray from Scottish brand, Humblestuff. I've been looking into using more eco-friendly, natural products around the house as most mainstream brands are full of chemicals and ingredients that I'd rather avoid, so this will definitely give me a helping hand with my Spring cleaning this year.
Clearspring Snack Organic Tamari Roasted Soya with Tomato & Herb (30g bag, £0.99)
I've tried something similar to these from Wholefoods before from a different brand - they're basically roasted organic soya beans seasoned with a delicious flavouring. A great little snack to carry in your bag and a good alternative to nuts as they're a crunchy and satisfying treat.
Greedie Goddess Mango Passion & Carrot Smoothie Bites (8g bag, £1)
I had no idea what to expect from these, but I was quite surprised when I had them for breakfast this morning. Imagine a smoothie made of just Mango, Passionfruit, Banana and Carrot puree, freeze-dried and then cut up into little squares. They taste just like a smoothie! Weird, but I kinda like them.
This month's recipe card is by The Tofu Diaries and is for a Homemade Cashew Cream Cheese (interesting!), and 10p from every TVK box sold will be donated to Teen VGN, a not for profit organisation who host a vegan summer camp in the UK and provide a range of support for young vegans.
