At the start of the month I posted about the many magazine freebies that are currently on offer, and now I have this cheeky latecomer to add! I've been so in love with this £1 lip liner that I felt it deserved a post all of its own.
I believe that this beauty bargain hit the stands with Glamour magazine last week, or maybe a couple of days before that, but I've had a bit of mission trying to find one as a lot of places seem to have already sold out of it. Luckily, I asked a friend to check in her town and she managed to pick one up for me (thank you Laura!).
So this is a full-size ModelCo Lip Enhancer Illusion Lip Liner pencil (apparently worth £16) that's a fleshy toned nude colour. With everyone seeming to be utterly obsessed with imitating a Kylie Jenner style pout, it's no surprise that this liner has been flying off the shelves. I've only ever purchased ModelCo makeup products with magazines, and I've had some major hits and misses with them. Thankfully, this one is a definite winner for me!
When I swatched it on the my hand, I thought the shade may be a little too dark for me but when I applied it to my lips, I found that it was a perfect match. My pencil was a tiny bit dry and stiff to start with, yet it soon started to play with me nicely once it had warmed up a bit and then applied smoothly every time thereafter.
I really love this - looks great worn all over (as swatched below) or underneath a nude lippie, and it lasts quite well too. I don't find it particularly drying either so it's thumbs up all round from me! I may have to see if I can find a few more as back ups...
