Welcome to the first feature in my Christmas Gift Guide for 2016, and what better way to kick things off than with a Luxury Edit featuring some of the most covetable high-end beauty brands around.
Under £15: DHC Beauty Bento* (£13, link)
Want to give a luxury brand gift, but you're on a budget? Keep an eye out for special holiday sets that contain travel sized products and try-me minis. They're a great way to introduce someone to a brand they may not have tried anything from before, and are perfect for people who travel a lot as well. This cute Beauty Bento set from DHC contains four of the cult Japanese brand's bestsellers; Deep Cleansing Oil (30ml), Mild Soap (10g), Oil Blotting Paper (travel size pack), and Revitalising Moisture Strips for Eyes (2 packs). The Deep Cleansing Oil is amazing at removing makeup, even stubborn waterproof formulas, so it's definitely one to try.
Under £20: Joan Collins Timeless Beauty I Am Woman Dry Oil Body Polish* (300g, £16, link)
Joan Collins' Timeless Beauty range is one of my surprise finds of the year, and no one is more surprised than I am! JC is more of an icon for my gran and mum's generations, so they'll love Joan's 'I Am Woman Dry Oil Body Polish' - a luxury body scrub with a base of Pink Himalayan Salt infused with a blend of oils such as Avocado, Olive and Jojoba. I've been using this myself recently and not only does it make my skin as soft as a baby's bum, but it also smells incredible. Who'd' have thought it?!
£25-£35: Tweezerman Christmas Gifts*
Brows have, quite literally, been a huge trend again this year so it's no surprise to see Tweezerman bringing out a whole range of Christmas gifts. Their Merry & Bright Mirror and Mini Slant Brow Beauty Duo (£25, link) has a festive white and glitter gold print on their handbag sized Mini Slant Tweezers, and also includes a 10x Magnifying Mirror to keep those brows in check whilst on the go. For a special Limited Edition gift, the All That Glitters Tweezer Holiday Set* (£29.95, link) features a full-size pair of tweezers in gold glitter and a red faux-leather patent travel pouch to keep them safe in.
My favourite gift from Tweezerman this year though has to be the Rose Gold Love Story Gift Set* (£35, link) which contains three products; a full-size pair of tweezers, full-size eyelash curlers and a small metallic cosmetics bag - all in gorgeous rose gold. If you don't own a pair of Tweezerman tweezers, they are truly the best on the market and will last you for years.
£30: This Works Dream To Sleep Set* (£30, link)
Give the gift of sleep to someone who struggles to get some, and they'll be your best friend forever. This Works' Deep Sleep Pillow Spray is a cult favourite for a reason and that's because it just works. I've been using it for such a long time now and it's saved me from many a restless night. This Works have quite a few different sets available which feature the famed Deep Sleep Pillow Spray and the Dream To Sleep Set is just one of them. It contains an eye mask, a full-size Deep Sleep Pillow Spray, and a full-size Deep Sleep Night Oil which is a beautiful pampering body oil in the same relaxing scent. Considering that the Oil retails for £25 and the Spray for £16 separately, you can bag yourself a decent saving when you buy the set, so you might just want to pick up an extra one to treat yourself!
£35: Liz Earle Bright Eyes Gift Set* (£35, link)
For a luxury skincare gift, it's hard to go wrong with a well-known brand like Liz Earle, and I really like their Bright Eyes Gift Set for something a little different from the usual cleanser, toner, and moisturiser sets. Bright Eyes has two full-size products; the Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion, a gentle, revitalising wipe-on, wipe-off formula, the popular anti-ageing Superskin Eye Cream and a white cotton headband. Again, this is a great value for money set as the eye cream costs £28 on its own.
Under £45: Dermalogica Power Rescue Masque Trio* (£43.25, link)
All of my fellow face mask junkies will absolutely love this fab trio set from Dermalogica. Comprising of three of their bestselling formulas, the lucky recipient will receive Charcoal Rescue Masque, Multi Vitamin Power Recovery Masque and Skin Hydrating Masque (38ml each). I've tried out all of these and would highly recommend them, especially the Charcoal Rescue Masque which is a fantastic multi-tasker for detoxing and brightening the skin at the same time - a must for the Christmas period.
Under £50: Smith & Cult Nail Trio* (£47, link)
Smith & Cult's Nail Trio is an impressive luxury set that's guaranteed to please nail polish fans. Featuring three full-size polishes in Stockholm Syndrome (a sophisticated greige), Lovers Creep (gorgeous aubergine shade), and Kundalini Hustle (a high shine stiletto red), plus a cool printed zip pouch and a handy branded nail file. Stunning.
Under £50: REN Luxury Moroccan Rose Collection* (£49, link)
Need a gift for a pampering princess? Look no further, REN's Luxury Moroccan Rose Collection ticks all the right boxes with this trio from their beautiful Moroccan Rose range which is one of my all time favourite rose scents. Inside the set, you'll find a full-size Moroccan Rose Otto Body Wash, a full-size Moroccan Rose Otto Body Oil, and a travel size Moroccan Rose Otto Sugar Polish, all packaged together in a vibrant contemporary printed box created by London textile designer Kangran Arora. No need for wrapping paper!
Under £50: Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Sweet Temptations Luxe Body Collection* (£49, link)
Laura Mercier always releases some seriously enviable gifts for Christmas, and her Sweet Temptations sets are always on my wishlist to Santa. Available in a range of different fragrances, Ambre Vanille is a sweet and heady blend that's both sexy and sophisticated. This set boasts four products; Creme Body Wash (100ml), Souffle Body Creme (200ml), Eau de Toilette (15ml) and Honey Bath (200ml), plus a wooden honey dipper. Luxury bathing at its very best.
The Big One: Oral B Genius 9000 Electric Toothbrush* (£280, link)
Electric toothbrushes are one of the most popular and highly requested Christmas gifts when it comes to electrical beauty. If you're splashing out this year, the Oral B Genius 9000 Electric Toothbrush won the industry revered Which Best Buy Award 2016 and has been created with a whole host of innovative technology including motion sensors and facial recognition software to offer superior cleaning.
I've always stuck with the cheaper Oral B versions, but I have to say that when you use this toothbrush, you can really see and feel a difference (and you'd expect to for the price!). It manages to get into places that the cheaper ones struggle with, so your whole mouth is left feeling thoroughly clean and fresh. I've also seen a noticeable difference in how whiter my teeth are since using this and I haven't changed my regular toothpaste - it must be doing something good! Available in three different colours; white, black and wait for it, rose gold. Oh yes!
Best news of all though is that Boots currently have this on offer as their current Star Gift so you can pick it up for better than half price at £99.99 - move fast if you want one!
What luxury gifts are you asking Santa for this year?
