The Vegan Kind Lifestyle Box - December 2016 review #TVK38
This month's The Vegan Kind box arrived a little later than usual, but it's definitely been worth the wait! There are so many festive treats inside so let's have a closer look at December's contents.
Foods of Athenry Very Fruity Starry Mince Pies
Foods of Athenry Very Fruity Starry Mince Pies (pack of 4, £4.50)
Mince pies are a traditional must have at Christmas, and these ones are baked by the Foods of Athenry who we've seen pop up in many TVK boxes this year. They specialise in baking free-from treats so their mince pies are gluten, wheat, egg and dairy free. They taste delicious when warmed up in the oven for a few minutes, though I'd recommend having a plate nearby as they're very crumbly!
Harper's Bizarre Halo Christmas Candle
 Harper's Bizarre Halo Christmas Candle (120g, £5)
I knew there was a candle in the box as soon as I opened it up because everything smelt SO good! Last year's TVK box featured a lovely candle from Harper's Bizarre, so it's great to see them again for this Halo version which has a fresh, festive and citrusy scent. The wax is 100% soy and all the candles are handmade in the UK. If you spotted my Christmas Gift Guide Candles Edit you'll know that I'm somewhat obssessed with candles and I can't wait to burn this one later this evening.
Cocoa Libre Chocolate Orange Santas and Reindeer
Cocoa Libre Chocolate Orange Santas and Reindeer (60g, £2.99)
You can't get more Christmassy than a box of chocolate santas and reindeer can you? Seriously, how cute are these?! Great quality, chunky chocolate figures from Cocoa Libre with a subtle hint of orange. Free from dairy, gluten, wheat, nuts and peanuts so they can be enjoyed by lots of people.
Ape Snacks Crispy Coconut Curls Salted Chocolate
Ape Snacks Crispy Coconut Curls Salted Chocolate (20g, £1.10)
I haven't tried anything from Ape Snacks before, but this is their new flavour and they're oh-so amazing. An interesting alternative to a chocolate bar or a bag of crisps, it's sort of somewhere in between and definitely fills that 3pm snack gap. The combination of dark chocolate with sea salt and dried cripsy bits of coconut works really well!
Good Full Stop Double Choc Bar
Good Full Stop Double Choc Bar (35g, £0.90)
I pick these bars up every now and again as an alternative to the Nakd bars when I fancy a change. The double choc flavour is my favourite (what's not to love) and it's packed full of dates, cashews and dark Belgian chocolate. A good way to get one of your five a day on the go.

There were also two little extras in this month's box; a peppermint Candy Cane and a sachet of We Are Tea Glow, alongside a recipe card for Vegan Chocolate Orange Mousse (yum!). 10p from every box sold this month will go towards Jacobs Ridge, an animal sanctuary in Murcia, Spain that rescues a range of animals including abandoned horses and donkeys. You can check them out here
