Outdoors Beauty: My Essentials for Camping & Festival Trips

Friday 5 April 2013

As part of my last uni module for this year, I'm undertaking a mini camping trip later today near the beautiful Lake District which involves an overnight stay.  And as the weather is slowly (but surely), starting to brighten up, I thought I'd do a quick post on the 'outdoor beauty essentials' I'm taking with me.  All of these would be perfect to pack for any camping and upcoming festival trips that you may have, so I hope it's helpful!

Sunscreen
It might still be a bit chilly, but even in winter, you should still use a sunscreen if you're going outside, especially on your face.  I'm also doing some activities which may involve me wading through streams and such like (yeah, I'm really not looking forward to those!), so I'm packing Lavera's Family Sun Spray* which is water-resistant, 100% mineral and has SPF 15.  Plus, the formula is non-greasy and it smells lovely, what more could you want from a natural sunscreen?

Hayfever relief
Despite my love for mother nature, she doesn't exactly love me back when I'm up close and personal with her.  Thankfully hayfever season hasn't kicked in yet, but I often get symptoms like itchy eyes when I'm around trees and soil.  To combat this, I'm taking a mini bottle of Liz Earle's Eyebright* and some cotton wool rounds to soothe and refresh my eyes if they become irritated.

Lip balm
I never go anywhere inside without at least one lip balm with me, so I'm sure as hell going to be taking one outside!  I picked my EOS in Summer Fruits because the huge bright red, egg shaped casing will help me to find it easily in a packed bag.  It also tastes yummy!

Wet wipes
If I know I'm not going to be able to take a proper shower for the next 24 hours and I'll be working up a sweat hiking and stuff, I make sure to pack some wet wipes.  These ones from Organyc* are the first wet wipes I've tried that have an organic formulation, no parabens and are alcohol free.  As well as being able to remove most of your make-up, they're perfect to freshen up with (and, ahem, they're gentle enough and pH balanced to be able to use down there).

Sunglasses
Well you don't want to give yourself premature wrinkles and damage your eyesight now do you?!

What are your outdoors beauty essentials?

  1. I like Lavera sunscreen it's one of my favourites, some natural ingredient ones can be too heavy for my skin & I break out in a rash.
