The Pre-Valentine's Day Pamper

Thursday 13 February 2014

Whether you're planning for a hot date, going out for a romantic dinner with a loved one, or simply celebrating being single with your girlfriends (like I will be!), this little pamper will have you prepped and ready to go for a fun Friday night out tomorrow.

Step 1: The Luxury Body Scrub treatment
If your skin is anything like mine during the winter months, then a high quality scrub packed full of amazing ingredients is probably what it's crying out for right about now.  I've raved about Bodhi's Rosemary Chi Himalayan Detox Salt Scrub* before and I still absolutely love it.  It's one of the most pampering scrubs I've ever had the pleasure of using, and it leaves your skin feeling as soft as a baby's bottom afterwards.  It's pricey, but seriously amazing stuff so perfect for a special pampering treat every now and then.

Step 2: Give your skin a glow with some Fake Tan
Sadly, I have no immediate plans to jet away to some sunny island and soak up some rays (I'm sobbing as I type this, major first world problems I know!) so I'm hitting the bottle to fake that holiday glow.  I'm usually very loyal to He-Shi and St. Tropez when it comes to fake tan brands, but this one from Madame LA LA* recently caught my eye, so I had to try it out.  It's a self tan mousse with a pump applicator, and it gives such a beautiful natural looking tan that isn't orangey in the slightest.  I used it with a mitt and found it quick and easy to apply with no streaking issues.  I also didn't find it as drying as some other formulas, which may be down to the added Coconut Water and Vitamin E.  Doesn't smell at all bad either - much more 'fresh' and less chemical than the usual fake tan scent which is always a big plus in my books!

Step 3: Slap on a Face Mask
If you're hoping to get up close and personal with someone tomorrow night, then a face mask can give you a quick confidence boost.  For these situations I like to choose a detoxifying clay mask to draw out any impurities, whilst declogging pores at the same time.  A'kin Express Purifying Facial Masque is a fantastic kaolin clay based mask which gets to work in 10-15 minutes and guarantees that my skin will be looking its best come tomorrow.

Step 4: Pick a good Night Cream or Oil
To finish things off, I find that applying a night cream or oil before bed makes such a big difference to your skin the next day.  I've recently been trying out Organic Surge Overnight Sensation Night Cream* for a change from my usual face oils.  It's feels very thick and rich so I use it sparingly on my t-zone, and apply a little more to the dehydrated parts of my face such as my cheeks and around the eye contour area.  In the morning my skin feels nourished and plump making this a great little budget buy.

Do you like to indulge in a pamper before a night out?
