Lily Lolo Natural Mascara and Laid Bare Eyeshadow Palette review
These two new additions to my makeup collection come from natural brand, Lily Lolo, who have impressed me with their products before.  So how does their new formula mascara and neutrals eyeshadow palette fare?

Looking for a good natural mascara that's comparable to mainstream ones is a real holy grail quest and I've tried quite a lot of them.  Lily Lolo's previous mascara wasn't one I could sing the praises of but their newly formulated offering is actually pretty good.  It's pigmented, lengthens, thickens and holds a curl well throughout the day.  I did find that it's prone to clumping though if you want to add a second or third coat but I haven't had any major issues with smudging or flaking, both of which are something that a lot of natural mascaras fall down on.  It's not the holy grail for me, but it's certainly one to try out if you're wanting to experiment with more natural mascaras.

Why hello there, you beautiful palette, you!  I'm a sucker for a good neutral eyeshadow palette and couldn't wait to have a play with this baby when it arrived.  The packaging is makeup bag friendly, being compact enough to take travelling with you and features a decent sized mirror and a branded double ended sponge applicator.  Inside the palette, there are 8 easy to wear shades and a great mixture of matte and shimmer finishes.  All of the shadows are soft and silky, thanks to their pressed mineral formulas and they lasted for a full working day on me (around 7-8 hours) without fading or creasing.

Swatches time!
Lily Lolo Laid Bare Eyeshadow Palette review
Stark Naked - matte nude/pinky beige
Au Natural - shimmery pink nude
Skinny Dip - shimmery gold beige
Shy Away - shimmery smoky taupe
Lady Godiva - shimmery rich gold
Birthday Suit - matte grey brown
Exhibitionist - matte olive brown
Exposed - demi matte charcoal

Pigmentation varies a little between the shades, with Lady Godiva definitely being the most pigmented.  I'd say they're all very 'soft' though as you can see from the swatches above, so they're well suited for everyday looks and are definitely very office / work friendly.  The shimmer in some of the shades is quite subtle so this palette would be ideal for those who like more natural looks and perhaps want to experiment with some different shades and textures.  My personal favourites from the Lily Lolo Laid Bare palette are Au Naturel, Skinny Dip, Lady Godiva, Birthday Suit and Exhibitionist.

Easy natural day look:  Lily Lolo Au Naturel all over the lid and Shy Away blended into the crease.
Easy smokey eye for evenings / nights: Lily Lolo Exhibitionist all over with a tiny amount of Exposed blended into the crease for added definition.
Easy natural day look (as above) and Lily Lolo Natural Mascara in Black

The full range of Lily Lolo makeup can be found at lilylolo.co.uk - all the products are free from parabens, synthethic perfumes and dyes and everything is cruelty free - BUAV approved.

Have you tried any of these?  Do you use any Lily Lolo makeup?

    1. It is a gorgeous palette! It is on the expensive side but that's because there's always a premium for natural ingredients and formulas so it depends on what you want to buy in your makeup :) xx
