Barefoot SOS Dry Scalp Treatment Shampoo & Conditioner review
Heads up (pun most definitely intended!) to anyone whose head is feeling dry and sensitive right now. This duo from Barefoot SOS are here to help.

I've been testing out Barefoot SOS' Dry Scalp Treatment Shampoo & Conditioner for a couple of weeks now, using it once a week in conjunction with my regular haircare products and so far, I've been really impressed with the results.

The SLS-free shampoo is packed full of natural extracts such as Calendula, Nettle, White Willow, Aloe, and Horsetail which all perform their magic on dry, irritated and sensitive scalps.  There's also essential oils of French Lavender, Geranium and Rosemary to give your hair a very fresh and clean scent . From the first use, it feels very deep cleansing, yet nourishing and hydrating at the same time.  I'm not ashamed to say it, but I do struggle sometimes with dandruff and eczema on my scalp and this has so far helped to clear it up better than any other shampoo I've tried so it's definitely one to check out if you have the same problem.

I wasn't so awe inspired by the conditioner though.  It has similar ingredients to the shampoo but with added Meadowsweet extract, Jojoba and Evening Primrose Oils for extra hydration and shine. Despite this, it's not the most moisturising conditioner but it's OK if your hair isn't too dry or damaged.  The shampoo gets a strong thumbs up though!

Barefoot SOS Dry Scalp Treatment Shampoo & Conditioner* (£13, 200ml each) are available from various online stockists including Biggreensmile.com

Have you tried any of Barefoot SOS' range for eczema and dry skin?

  1. Shame the conditioner wasn't quite right for you. I think hair care is one of the trickier things to find a cleaner alternative to x

    1. Definitely, I've had some major hits and misses with natural shampoos and still really struggle to find natural conditioners that work with my very dry hair x

  4. The shampoo sounds great! I find a lot of natural conditioners are just too light. As this is more of a weekly treatment, perhaps a coconut oil hair mask the night before would help lock in the moisture? I do suffer from a slightly dry scalp during winter, so I'd be interesting in trying this out. xxx
