Worth The Hype: REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask review

REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask review
REN's Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask is one of those face masks that is simply worthy of its skincare classic status.  This is a product that I always have to have in my stash.

What is it?
For those of you who haven't got a clue what I'm talking about, REN's Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask is a powerful chemical exfoliating face mask which really deep cleanses the skin, and helps to get rid of pesky blackheads and blemishes.  It uses fruit acids from the likes of Passion Fruit, Papaya, Lemon, Grapes and Pineapple to do this as they exfoliate the skin, helping to dissolve old skin cells and draw out impurities in the process.  It's also useful for evening out the skin tone and reducing the appearance of fine lines, so an excellent all rounder than many people can use, plus the formula is free from Parabens, Sulphates, Mineral Oil, T.E.A Silicones, PEGs, Glycols, D.E.A, and Synthetic Fragrances and Colours.

How to apply?
The texture of this face mask reminds me of non-sticky, thin marmalade and it has a pleasant fruity scent to it thanks to all those hardworking natural fruit acids.  You apply it over dry, cleansed skin and leave it on for 10 minutes to do its magic.  It doesn't feel tight nor does it fully 'dry' as such, but some people experience a slight tingling sensation so do a patch test first if you have sensitive skin.

Results?
After rinsing it off with a warm flannel, my complexion looks brighter and clearer, like it's been renewed and refreshed.  I always notice that most, if not all, of my blackheads disappear whenever I use this and my t-zone is a lot less oily the next day.  I can't really comment on the fine lines / uneven skin tone but I've read many positive reviews for these aspects so do have a google if those are areas which concern you.

To celebrate 15 years of REN, there is a special edition bumper 75ml sized version of Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask* currently available.  Best of all, it's priced at £32 which is the same for the regular 50ml size, so it's a good time to try it out or simply stock up!  Available from various stockists including Space NK.

Have you tried this cult skincare classic?  Do you think its worth the hype?

  5. I do think this is a great mask! I've only ever used the minis you get free with orders - they last quite awhile though as you need to use so little! xx
