Aveda Botanical Kinetics Purifying Creme Cleanser, Exfoliant & Deep Cleansing Herbal Clay Masque
As you can see from my July Favourites, I'm a big fan of Aveda's haircare so I'm always excited to try out more stuff from their other ranges.  I've been testing out these two bestsellers from their Botanical Kinetics skincare line recently, plus a rather excellent face mask.

Usually when I see the world 'purifying' on a cleanser bottle, I stay well clear as I expect it to be too harsh and stripping, but this cleanser is the exact opposite.  It has quite a rich creamy texture to it and uses plant-derived oils and natural Soapwort to remove dirt and impurities.  I found this to be very gentle on my often sensitive skin as it didn't irritate or dry it out, though it is perhaps a little too gentle to be used as a make-up remover as it struggled in this area.  However, it works exceptionally well as a morning cleanser and left my skin feeling clean and refreshed.

Aveda Botanical Kinetics Exfoliant* (150ml, £18, link)
Liquid exfoliators are something that I'm using more and more of, and I've had my eye on this one since reading about it on Caroline Hirons' blog.  This is a non-abrasive formula so it feels almost like water on the skin, but it does a fantastic job of removing old skin cells and helping to brighten and clear up the complexion - I think the added Witch Hazel in the formula definitely helps with this.  My skin always feels as smooth as a baby's bum after using this! A great alternative to Pixi's Glow Tonic.

Aveda Deep Cleansing Herbal Clay Masque* (125ml, £28.50, link
I love a good detox face mask and Aveda's Deep Cleansing offering is ideal for anyone who has congested, blemish prone or oily skin as it helps to draw out impurities and absorbs excess oil.  Just apply a thin layer all over or on targeted problem areas, leave on for 5 minutes, and voila - hello clearer looking, happier skin.  I think this is a fab quick fix option to have in your beauty stash and a little goes a long way.

Have you tried any of these?
Do you use any Aveda skincare?

  1. I didn't know Aveda did skincare! These sound fab :) I love the sound of the purifying cream cleanser, I struggle to find a good morning cleaner so this is definitely an option.
