Valentine's Day Makeup with Mavala: Review & Swatches
Looking for some easy Valentine's Day makeup inspiration for lips and nails? Look no further - I have some gorgeous picks from Mavala right here.

Mavala are well known for their super cute mini bottles of nail polish (check out my past reviews of those here), so it was a surprise for me to discover that they also had a makeup range including a line of lipsticks. When these arrived in the post, I had to put them to the test straight away!

Packaged in sleek, grown up, on-trend grey shimmer tubes with an embossed silver M on the lids, these lipsticks feel more high-end than similar products of the same pricetag. Formula wise, the two that I have both go on smoothly and feel comfortable on the lips, but I wouldn't say that they're particularly moisturising. They have an old-fashioned, traditional lipstick scent to them and I found that they lasted on my lips for around 5-6 hours before I needed to re-apply.

Tango looks like a neutral, pink-brown 90s-esque shade in the bullet, but transferred as a gorgeous 'my lips but better' colour once applied. I absolutely love this as I'm obsessed with these sorts of shades right now as I can easily wear them for everyday.

Flamenco on the other hand, is a beautiful pink toned red that I feel would be flattering for a lot of different skin tones and would be a lovely choice for Valentine's Day. It's one of those reds that you can feel confident wearing as it doesn't come across as super bright or vampy.

For nails, you can't wrong with a pretty neutral shade and Mavala has a wide range of different hues on offer to suit all skintones. My top picks are these three (from L-R above - all 5ml, £4.95 each and available from Feel Unique, larger Boots and John Lewis):-

Tea Rose 111 - a modern dainty nude pink with a hint of gold shimmer which dries down to a matte finish in two coats.

Ballerina 113 - a beautiful plain nude with taupe undertones and a matte finish.

Sand Rose 114 - a pearlescent peachy pink that's opaque in two coats.

Have you tried any Mavala makeup?
