 Occles Travel Eyewear review
Protecting your eyes from harmful UV rays is just as important as slapping on sunscreen on your face and body, so you might want to consider adding a pair of Occles to your holiday shopping list. These futuristic looking eyeshades are your perfect flight and sunbathing companion!

What are Occles and what do they do?
Occles are cleverly designed eyeshades that completely block out all ambient and UV light. They've been dubbed the '21st-century sleepmask' which is a great way of summing up their overall purpose and light blocking abilities. I don't know about you, but I always struggle to sleep on flights because there's always someone who decides to put their head light on above them, so something like these can help as they cut out all the light that's around you. You can also use them whilst sunbathing, to protect your eyes from harmful and aging UVA & UVB rays which they have been certified to block.

What are they made out of and are they comfortable to wear?
They're made out of a sturdy, lightweight plastic which has soft medical grade silicone rubber eye seals inside. These seals not only help to block out the light, but they also make wearing them for long periods much more comfortable. They adjust to fit most headsizes (I want to say all, but I have only tested them on myself and my two housemates, so all would be something of a generalization!) , and they can be worn around your neck when you want to take them off. Once they're on, you don't really notice them after a while because they are so lightweight - it's strange but in a good way!

My thoughts?
I've used lots of different fabric eyemasks and sleepmasks for years, and even some of the more expensive ones I've tried don't completely block out all of the light, so I'm really impressed to come across an innovative product like these that actually work and live up to their claims. I did have do some fiddling around with the side mechanism to ensure that they were properly on at first, but once they were on, they did their job perfectly. I'd definitely recommend these to anyone who is jetting off on a long haul flight this summer and needs to get some shut-eye on the plane, as well as people who enjoy sunbathing. I think they could also be useful for anyone who suffers from migraines too.

Occles Travel Eyewear* retail for £22 and are available in three different colours from Occles.co

Would you buy these for your summer holiday?
