5 Mini Reviews: Liz Earle, Madara, LUSH, Burt's Bees & Rituals

Saturday 13 October 2012

The samples above for this 5 Mini Reviews post, have all come out of my recent travel bag.  Here's what I thought about each product:-

(1) Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint with SPF 15 in Beige 02
I don't think there's ever been a Liz Earle product that I've tried in the past which I haven't liked, until I used this sachet of their Sheer Skin Tint.  Unfortunately this tinted moisturiser was just not suitable for my oily/combination skin and looked very greasy on me, which is a shame because the shade was a perfect match.  This is one that I imagine would be much more suited to dry skintypes instead.

(2) Madara Sun Flower Tinting Fluid
Lovely formula that sinks straight in and gives a light, fresh coverage for those days when you don't want to wear too much make-up.  Sun Flower shade was a little dark for me right now, but would look great in the summer when I'm more tanned.  Only problem is that it smells strongly of freshly cut grass which I wasn't keen on!

(3) Burt's Bees Soap Bark & Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream
This cleanser didn't remove much of my make-up when I tried to use it at night before going to bed, but was fine to use in the mornings.  Wouldn't recommend for very sensitive skin/eyes though due to the amount of menthol in it.

(4) Rituals Tao Mei Dao Body Cream
Absolutely loved this!  It has a lovely fresh scent and is very hydrating for my dry skin.  The forumla feels thick and rich, but it soaks into the skin straight away without any greasiness and makes it feel super soft and supple.

(5) LUSH R and B Hair Moisturiser
After seeing so many rave reviews and recommendations for this hair moisturiser, I decided to pop into LUSH and get a sample to try out.  Wow this stuff is good!  I was so surprised because many leave-in conditioners can feel too heavy on my hair, but I didn't even notice this when I left it on.  It made my dry ends feel thoroughly soft and happy again, plus it has a nice scent too.  Will definitely be picking up a full size pot of this soon!

Have you tried any of these?

  6. I keep Burt's Bees Soap Bark & Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream for the winter because of its lovely cream texture but I agree with you, it's not the best cleanser when it comes to removing makeup, and sometimes, I have to use it twice in a row because my face just doesn't feel 100% clean.

    1. Yep I really liked the thick cream texture, but it didn't perform as well as I hoped it would.
