5 Mini Reviews: Liz Earle, Weleda, L'Occitane, Balance Me & Mitchell And Peach

Thursday 27 June 2013

Here are some samples that I recently used up on holiday.  Whenever I go away, I almost always use it as an opportunity to raid my samples stash and pick out a bunch of new things to try out.  Afterall, they're the perfect sizes for weekend bags!

(1) Liz Earle Orange Flower Hand Wash*
This hand wash has a lovely, fresh scent and it lathers up nicely, but towards the end of the sample, it felt like it was drying my hands out a bit, so I wouldn't buy a full size.

(2) Weleda Sea Buckthorn Creamy Body Wash
I've often mentioned how much I love Weleda's Creamy Body Washes, and the Sea Buckthorn range smells amazing!  It's very uplifting and citrusy, so it's one I always reach for in the mornings.

(3) L'Occitane Angelica Face Toner
Sadly, my skin and this toner did not like each other at all.  I don't know if it was one of the essential oils or something else in the formula, but it made my skin red and overly sensitive for hours afterwards so I only used it once.

(4) Balance Me Balancing Face Moisturiser
I quite liked this light textured moisturiser, but ultimately found it wasn't as 'balancing' for me as my HG Liz Earle Skin Repair Light Moisturiser is.  I think combination/normal skintypes would appreciate it much more.

(5) Mitchell And Peach English Growers Body Cream*
Hate to say something negative about a brand, but I've come to the conclusion that I really don't like Mitchell And Peach products.  This body cream didn't moisturise my skin very well, the texture was a little sticky, and the scent just wasn't for me either I'm afraid.

Have you tried any of these?

  5. I whole heardly agree about the L'Occitane Angelica range. I have the L'occitane Angelica hydrating mask and my skin hates it. It goes itchy and red within seconds of putting it on. That mask has gone to my boyfriend for use on his normal, prone to break outs skin!

sad to say I haven't tried any of the other products as they are not readily available in Australia :(

Love these little reviews, please keep them up!

    1. I don't know what it is about the Angelica range but I just can't use anything from it either! Luckily I didn't try out the mask!

If you're interested in Liz Earle, they ship worldwide via their website and you could try Naturisimo which is a fantastic website for natural products and they offer free worldwide delivery :)

Will do! I have LOADS of samples in my stash, so I'll be doing plenty more of these posts in the near future :) x

  6. I am with you on the Mitchell & Peach range, Evelyn. I was given a gift set of their bath and body products last year and abandoned them after only a few tries. The scent wasn't for me and the body lotion took ages to rub in and left me feeling slightly sticky, which I hate.

    1. Glad it's not just me Annie! I felt the same about the body lotion, it doesn't absorb into the skin well at all x

    1. It's difficult to like a range when you're not fond of the scent. I was also disappointed by the formula, which is a shame for such a high-end brand x
