December Empties / Products I've Used Up

Tuesday 31 December 2013

What better way to round off the year than with an Empties post.  Here are the last bunch of products that will be hitting the recycling bin for 2013.

Neal's Yard Remedies Bee Lovely Body Lotion*
One of my favourite scents ever is the Bee Lovely range from Neal's Yard Remedies and I adored this body lotion.  It feels wonderfully pampering and hydrating but without any greasiness.  The scent is really fresh and uplifting, just the thing for cheering you up on a cold, grey winter morning.  Also loved the pump - wish more body lotions had pumps!  Repurchase?  It's expensive but definitely one I'd pick up again for a treat.

Primavera Rose Sallow Thorn Bath Oil*
It was a sad day when this baby ran out!  This bath oil is just gorgeous.  I loved the engaging rose scent and it's one of those bath oils that leaves your skin feeling incredibly soft afterwards so you don't need to use an extra body lotion.  A little goes a long way with it as well so I got plenty of decadent baths out of this bottle.  Repurchase?  Again, it's on the pricey side, but well worth it for a pampering treat.

Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette (review & swatches)
This is pretty much done.  I loved the concealers in it which were creamy and easy to work with, but left the powder section which was far too cakey for my liking.  But let's forget about that powder - this is still one of the best budget buy concealer palettes you can pick up.  Repurchase?  I'm going to see if I can get my hands on another one of these soon!

Bumble And Bumble Mending Masque* (review)
I've had this in my bathroom for ages, I just didn't seem to reach for it over my other hair masks that much.  It's an OK product, but it's not anything super amazing and didn't do a great deal to justify its pricetag to me.  Repurchase?  No.

Dr. Lipp Nipple Balm for Lips* (review)
Love this stuff and a tube lasted me such a long time.  Great lip balm for very dry/chapped lips and you can use it on any dry skin area like cuticles, elbows, feet etc (and of course nipples too!).  Repurchase?  Yes.
Leighton Denny Remove & Rectify Cuticle Remover (review)
I raved about this a lot when I first got it last year and I still think it's amazing.  It uses a very gentle formula to held soften dry cuticles so you can push them back easily when you're doing a DIY manicure.  Again, this bottle has lasted ages!  Repurchase?  I received the famed Sally Hansen one in a xmas stocking so I'm going to try that first to see how it compares.

Benecos Natural Mascara Maximum Volume* (review & swatches)
A natural mascara that's budget friendly and does a good job of lengthening lashes.  I did find that it was prone to clumping if you wanted to layer it on though.  Repurchase? Probably not.

Laidbare Spot The Difference Treatment Cream* (review)
If you're prone to breakouts and want to try something natural to help prevent future ones, then definitely check this out.  You can use it as an on the spot job, or you can mix a little with your morning moisturiser to help keep your skin clear.  I found it very handy to have in my skincare routine when I was feeling stressed or under the weather.  Repurchase?  Yes.

Boots Acetone Free Nail Polish Remover
Nice and simple, does the job without destroying my nails and only costs about a £1.  Repurchase?  Already have, I always buy this one.

Neom Organic Pillow Spray in Tranquility
I always have this on my bedside table and use it whenever I'm feeling restless to help send me off to the land of nod.  The scent is a blend of Lavender, Jasmine and Sweet Basil and it's so relaxing.  The formula is super concentrated as well, so you only need to use 1-2 sprays max (I find one is more than enough!).  Repurchase?  Have another one in my stash from their Perfect Night's Sleep Kit.

  5. I definitely want to try the Neals Yarn Bee Lovely - I love anything to do with Bees and Honey and we have just had a Neals Yard open here in the Middle East which is great since I missed the Covent Garden one to much!!

Also heading off to Boots to get the nail varnish remover - I have one at the moment which feels greasier than olive oil!! ha ha!
