Festival Essentials: The Practical and The Fun!
Whether you're heading down to Glastonbury this weekend or planning what to take for Reading & Leeds later this Summer, these are some of my recommended festival beauty essentials.

Let's get the practical stuff ticked off your checklist first. If you're camping, you're going to want to pack a good dry shampoo - Tints Of Nature Dry Shampoo* (15g, £11.99, link) is made from 99.5% natural and certified organic ingredients and will instantly refresh your hairstyle whilst sucking up excess oil at the same time. It's a non-aerosol but has a clever little pump applicator that 'puffs' the powder into your hair and it won't leave you looking like you've been flour bombed either.

Wet wipes are a must and always come in handy for so many things - Ecocare Organic Facial Wipes* (pack of 25, £4.90, link) are my current favourite and won't dry out your skin. Sunscreen is of course another absolute essential - take a big cheap bottle like Solait SPF 30 Moisturising Lotion* (200ml, £4.49, link) and slap it on all your mates, they'll thank you later!

My next essential is a great little multi-purpose product - Living Nature Manuka Honey Gel* (10ml, £11.50, link). Although it's marketed as a spot fighting gel treatment (which it works wonders for by the way!), I find it's very useful for dabbing onto any cuts or grazes as the high concentration of manuka honey has powerful natural healing abilities so it'll help to soothe and heal the skin. Also great for reducing the inflammation from insect bites and nettle stings too.

Fragrance may seem like the last thing you think of packing for a festival but I wanted to include my trusty Travalo (£12.49, link) which is a handy refillable atomiser for your favourite perfume. Aerosols are generally banned from most festival arenas, but you can take one of these with you to give that Portaloo a quick spritz before using, and save you from holding your breath!

 Fun Festival Essentials

Onto the fun stuff! Festivals are the best excuse to experiment with a different makeup look, so drag yourself out of your neutral comfort zone and embrace some colour! A cheap and cheerful palette like Makeup Revolution Unicorns Unite Eyeshadow Palette* (£6, link) has a plethora of bright pigmented shades that are really wearable, but also includes some safe everyday neutrals that you can continue using when you get home. If you want to go down the glitter route, Too Faced Glitter Glue Primer* (5g, £10, link) will stop any fallout no matter how hard you party.

For lips, pull out shades like Ciate Liquid Velvet Matte Lipsticks* (6.5ml, £17, link) in Envy and Voodoo (swatches here) and enjoy fun, long lasting, in your face colour all night long. And don't forget to add some colour to your hair - Superdrug Hair Chalk Sprays* (50ml, £2.99, link) come in a range of shades and wash out easily the next day.
Kitsch Hair Accessories
Fun Festival Essentials - Hair Accessories

Speaking of hair, treat your tresses to some new festival friendly accessories and let the compliments roll on in! I've featured KITSCH on here before and love their handmade elastic Hair Ties* (pack of 5, £6.13) that don't snag your hair or leave kinks in it. They also look cute worn on your wrist, either on their own or layered up.

Bun fans will love their range of Bun Pins* (£12.27, link) or you can channel your inner Khaleesi and wear a KITSCH Hair Chain* (£12.27, link) that's fit for a Queen. Have fun!
